Xperia Z3 :: Newly Added Contacts Disappear
May 29, 2015When I add a new contact it only seems to stay for a short while then disappears. Very frustrating. All my old ones that I imported of my SD card stay on there.

Apr 13, 2012After iOS 5 and this whole iCloud business, my contacts on my iPhone have become a mess... I can no longer add a contact on my phone and expect it to be added to my Address Book automatically after the next sync, and the whole 'Groups' thing confuses the crap out of me. I have my Yahoo account linked, but now I don't actually want anything to do with Yahoo (or Google) when it comes to my contacts: all I want is contacts on my phone and on my Mac, nothing else. I'll get iCloud up and running once I upgrade to Mountain Lion, but not bef?

May 10, 2011I have been trying to update my phone with the latest software for last few days since I bought my phone. I am following all the steps as mentioned in on the PC companion. But after I have connected the phone back to the PC companion after disconnecting it as mentioned in step 2. Following this it doesnot proceed to step 3 nor is there any indication about an update in progress. If we do click to close this window it indicates that it is closing the update.
getting this update done without any difficulty? With no error messages..it is dificult to figure out what to do.

Feb 26, 2010I have this weird problem on my 3GS. This is what happens:
1. Someone calls me from number not in my contacts.
2. I go to my "recents" and click the arrow, and then "create new contact".
3. I type a name (Lyle) and click "save".
4. In "recents" the number now shows up as "Lyle", everything seems ok.
5. In the "contacts app" Lyle does not exist. Therefore also does not sync with mobileme.
If I add a contact in the contact app itself, everything works fine.

Sep 22, 2011Time ago I´ve used to have only 1 mail account set on my blackberry, a gmail account (xxxxx@gmail.com), and used the google sync (url...) to synchronize contacts between the smartphone and the webmail account. It has been working like a charm for a long time. At that time, I could create and edit contacts and the changes got synchronized in both sites.A month ago I decided to create through Google Apps an email address with my own internet domain (xxxxx@xxxxxxxx.com), and decided to add this email address to the smartphone to check both accounts. The first surprise came when I noted that adding this email address (following the procedure to add any email address) has caused the BB to activate it, like BES mode, against the gmail server.Suddenly I discovered that I cant create nor edit contacts in BB, but I can in the webmail interface of the google apps email address. The contact created using the web interface is syncronized to the BB.The issue is that I cant create nor edit contacts in the smartphone!

Galaxy S6 :: Random Contacts Disappear?
Nov 3, 2015So randomly when I woke up this morning, I picked up my s6 edge and a number of my contacts were flat out gone. I opened up my gmail account that I have my contacts saved too and they were all gone from there as well. Along with that, in my messages it used to link a few pictures to the names of people I was texting, but now all the pictures are gone, even of the contacts I didn't lose. I tried resyncing and everything but that doesnt work because these contacts seem to have disappeared completely from gmail.
All of my edge contacts disappeared too. And again, I literally did nothing, this just happened when I checked my phone this morning.

What an unpleasant surprise when I enabled iCloud contact sync, my iPhone contacts suddently disappeared. What happened? Jan 24, 2011i recently switched phone providers from ais in thailand to t-mobile in the netherlands. shortly after, i decided to activate my ymail account on my bb and, of course, synced my contacts. before i get to the problem. i had one issue earlier already, regarding address book contacts that were sent via bbm. i couldn't erase them, ever. i did tried removing the battery as suggested in other threads but it didn't work.anyways, what happened shortly after the ymail sync is that all my contacts disappeared, while the contact that was not erasable multiplied. i have it about 10 times now. in addition, this error message turns up on startup:
uncaught exception java.lang.NullPointerException
i looked around in other feeds but couldn't find a solution. i checked the address book filters (they are all off). when i chose address book >> options >> ...@ymail.com it appeared that all my contacts still exist on the yahoo server. i just can't access them for some reason. i downloaded them from yahoo for now. i'm sure there is a way to import them but i started worrying that my device software might be corrupt.so, before i start looking for a solution to reimport the contacts, i would like to know whether anyone ever experienced the multiplied contact error i have. because having 12 identical contacts that i cannot erase in my address book is kind of annoying and i would wipe the device before reimporting the contacts if there is now way to delete them.

Dec 3, 2011How did I delete my Contacts? Here's what happened:
1. I had a good set of contacts in the phone itself, and on the SD card.
2. Trying to determine if Wifi Calling could possibly work with no sim installed, or with a dead Tmo sim installed, I tried both ways, in that order. (In fact, though different messages appeared, neither scenario worked.Both times, my SD was in the Defy. And the dead sim had never been used in the Defy.) I had to sign into Motoblur during this exercise.
3. I put my good sim back in.I signed back into Motoblur.I noticed during the evening that incoming calls did not show the caller etc etc etc. In fact, I had no contacts, said the phone. Not even, apparently, in the phone memory.
4. I imported contacts from the SD card. A couple recent changes made to the phone memory contacts were not present.
What in the previous steps caused my phone contacts to disappear? Just loading up a dead sim? Could it have really been so dumb as to attempt to generate a new (blank) set from that sim without asking,saying 'this will replace your contacts; do you want to continue? Though that sim had been used in a Moto Spice, Android 2.1, I cannot say with certainty that I'd ever exported the Spice XT300 contacts to the sim.And now, I decide to export the contacts to the SIM for safety sake. I see only one item, My Info. I choose All Contacts (at the top) , and it sits there seemingly forever, doing nothing.The only thing I can do is back out of that. There's 'Select All' at the bottom left, but it can't be clicked if All Contacts was. If I do that instead, it just selects me.
I rebooted, and got nothing different.I only have 100 contacts.So if those 100 are in the phone memory, why won't they export? If they're not in there, then where did the Import from SD put them?
