I have bought an iphone 4s. Whenever, I sync with iCloud, the newly added Contacts just disappear.
Is there anyway of Adding New contacts from iphone to icloud/yahoo while syncing so that data is copied on both the iphone and icloud/yahoo.
Also, I regularly sycn data from iphone to PC. What is the method of copying data back (esp Contacts) from PC to iphone in the eventuality that the data gets erased from the iphone
ive just updated my iphone and lost all my contacts is there a way to get them back?

I decided to finaly opt in for iCloud in order to have my iPhone contact online too. What an unpleasant surprise when I enabled iCloud contact sync, my iPhone contacts suddently disappeared. What happened? My iCloud contact list is also empty not having a single of my original iPhone contacts loaded.

View 5 Replies View RelatedSo randomly when I woke up this morning, I picked up my s6 edge and a number of my contacts were flat out gone. I opened up my gmail account that I have my contacts saved too and they were all gone from there as well. Along with that, in my messages it used to link a few pictures to the names of people I was texting, but now all the pictures are gone, even of the contacts I didn't lose. I tried resyncing and everything but that doesnt work because these contacts seem to have disappeared completely from gmail.
All of my edge contacts disappeared too. And again, I literally did nothing, this just happened when I checked my phone this morning.
When I add a new contact it only seems to stay for a short while then disappears. Very frustrating. All my old ones that I imported of my SD card stay on there.
View 5 Replies View Relatedi recently switched phone providers from ais in thailand to t-mobile in the netherlands. shortly after, i decided to activate my ymail account on my bb and, of course, synced my contacts. before i get to the problem. i had one issue earlier already, regarding address book contacts that were sent via bbm. i couldn't erase them, ever. i did tried removing the battery as suggested in other threads but it didn't work.anyways, what happened shortly after the ymail sync is that all my contacts disappeared, while the contact that was not erasable multiplied. i have it about 10 times now. in addition, this error message turns up on startup:
uncaught exception java.lang.NullPointerException
i looked around in other feeds but couldn't find a solution. i checked the address book filters (they are all off). when i chose address book >> options >> ...@ymail.com it appeared that all my contacts still exist on the yahoo server. i just can't access them for some reason. i downloaded them from yahoo for now. i'm sure there is a way to import them but i started worrying that my device software might be corrupt.so, before i start looking for a solution to reimport the contacts, i would like to know whether anyone ever experienced the multiplied contact error i have. because having 12 identical contacts that i cannot erase in my address book is kind of annoying and i would wipe the device before reimporting the contacts if there is now way to delete them.

The language bar won't automatically disappear when scrolling through contacts after composing a message gets very annoying as the language bar prevents using the whole screen to scroll.

1. I had a good set of contacts in the phone itself, and on the SD card.
2. Trying to determine if Wifi Calling could possibly work with no sim installed, or with a dead Tmo sim installed, I tried both ways, in that order. (In fact, though different messages appeared, neither scenario worked.Both times, my SD was in the Defy. And the dead sim had never been used in the Defy.) I had to sign into Motoblur during this exercise.
3. I put my good sim back in.I signed back into Motoblur.I noticed during the evening that incoming calls did not show the caller etc etc etc. In fact, I had no contacts, said the phone. Not even, apparently, in the phone memory.
4. I imported contacts from the SD card. A couple recent changes made to the phone memory contacts were not present.
What in the previous steps caused my phone contacts to disappear? Just loading up a dead sim? Could it have really been so dumb as to attempt to generate a new (blank) set from that sim without asking,saying 'this will replace your contacts; do you want to continue? Though that sim had been used in a Moto Spice, Android 2.1, I cannot say with certainty that I'd ever exported the Spice XT300 contacts to the sim.And now, I decide to export the contacts to the SIM for safety sake. I see only one item, My Info. I choose All Contacts (at the top) , and it sits there seemingly forever, doing nothing.The only thing I can do is back out of that. There's 'Select All' at the bottom left, but it can't be clicked if All Contacts was. If I do that instead, it just selects me.
I rebooted, and got nothing different.I only have 100 contacts.So if those 100 are in the phone memory, why won't they export? If they're not in there, then where did the Import from SD put them?
I see all my contacts on my mac but they are not syncing to my iphone 4 plus I have my wife's contacts now syncing to mine. I have created a separate user account for her but I still get her contacts and not all of mine.

I do see that Pkgbackup was able somehow to sync with Gmail as if I go to my contacts in gmail I can see PkgBackup however everything I try does not work. I have set it up in itunes to sync with Gmail but nothing shows up when I log into Gmail.

i had a problem with my old phone so i went to the apple store and they told me to back up my information on my computer which i did so i went to the apple store today to exchange my phone for a new one since i got my last one in february,now i connected my new iphone to my computer (iphone 4) and it says that i have no sim card, the last iphone i had didnt have one either but i was able to use it - this one won't let me go past the first few things that pop up when you get a new phone.. if i dont have a sim card how do i come about this?

Running iMAC 27 , lion 10.7.4 and iTunes 10.6.3 with an iPad 2 and iphone. I can't sync contacts anymore for some time now.Either on the iPad or iPhone. Everything is checked properly in iTunes , and , actually, everything worked properly..Calendars , Mails sync perfectly but the Synchronisation simply bypasses the Contacts. The groups in Adress Book do not show in iTunes. In iTunes, the "advanced" menu, with "replace information on this iPhone" doesnt work either? Now, all my iphone contacts are deleted, and iTunes never replaced those informations with the computer ones. I ve tried many things found here, and no improvement. I think it s a bug, and unfortunately, Apple doesn t do anything to address it.
View 7 Replies View RelatedSometime after purchasing the iphone 6 I realized that my contacts are no longer syncing through either Icloud or through USB to my Mac. I cannot say that it happened immediately after purchasing the iphone or after some system update. Regardless, my new contacts entered on the iPhone just stay there. They are not in iCloud or my Mac. I've tried turning off the iCloud sync for contacts on the phone and performed a USB iTunes sync, but they simply stay on my phone.Â

i dont care about the photos or music, ive got all the music on my computer anyway..... and the photos i can recover from the phone without syncing.... but as soon as i do the sync its going to clear all my contacts and and start fresh, as there is no history of my phone on my new computer.

I synced my iPhone contacts with my iMac via iCloud, which was great because I had duplicate info with variations that needed to be sorted out. But I don't want to KEEP every single contact on my computer on my phone. How can I limit the contacts that sync to the iPhone while still using iCloud? I liked being able to be selective about contact groups when syncing with iTunes, but iTunes always made my duplicate info worse rather than better!

I have a website that is managed through Google, so my calendar and contacts and email are all through Google.
I want my iPhone 5s and Google contacts to be synced, so that when I add anything to my iPhone, it shows up in my Google contacts. Also, if I add to my Google contacts online, it shows on my iPhone. Very simple. Â
I have followed the standard instructions many times. It works, sometimes.
For example, right now there are a number of contacts on my iCloud account that are not appearing on my Google contacts. I don't know how to get everything to work together.Â
