Xperia Z3 :: Newly Added Contacts Disappear
May 29, 2015When I add a new contact it only seems to stay for a short while then disappears. Very frustrating. All my old ones that I imported of my SD card stay on there.

Nov 3, 2015So randomly when I woke up this morning, I picked up my s6 edge and a number of my contacts were flat out gone. I opened up my gmail account that I have my contacts saved too and they were all gone from there as well. Along with that, in my messages it used to link a few pictures to the names of people I was texting, but now all the pictures are gone, even of the contacts I didn't lose. I tried resyncing and everything but that doesnt work because these contacts seem to have disappeared completely from gmail.
All of my edge contacts disappeared too. And again, I literally did nothing, this just happened when I checked my phone this morning.

Jun 12, 2012I have bought an iphone 4s. Whenever, I sync with iCloud, the newly added Contacts just disappear.
Is there anyway of Adding New contacts from iphone to icloud/yahoo while syncing so that data is copied on both the iphone and icloud/yahoo.
Also, I regularly sycn data from iphone to PC. What is the method of copying data back (esp Contacts) from PC to iphone in the eventuality that the data gets erased from the iphone

Jul 4, 2012I decided to finaly opt in for iCloud in order to have my iPhone contact online too. What an unpleasant surprise when I enabled iCloud contact sync, my iPhone contacts suddently disappeared. What happened? My iCloud contact list is also empty not having a single of my original iPhone contacts loaded.

Jan 24, 2011i recently switched phone providers from ais in thailand to t-mobile in the netherlands. shortly after, i decided to activate my ymail account on my bb and, of course, synced my contacts. before i get to the problem. i had one issue earlier already, regarding address book contacts that were sent via bbm. i couldn't erase them, ever. i did tried removing the battery as suggested in other threads but it didn't work.anyways, what happened shortly after the ymail sync is that all my contacts disappeared, while the contact that was not erasable multiplied. i have it about 10 times now. in addition, this error message turns up on startup:
uncaught exception java.lang.NullPointerException
i looked around in other feeds but couldn't find a solution. i checked the address book filters (they are all off). when i chose address book >> options >> ...@ymail.com it appeared that all my contacts still exist on the yahoo server. i just can't access them for some reason. i downloaded them from yahoo for now. i'm sure there is a way to import them but i started worrying that my device software might be corrupt.so, before i start looking for a solution to reimport the contacts, i would like to know whether anyone ever experienced the multiplied contact error i have. because having 12 identical contacts that i cannot erase in my address book is kind of annoying and i would wipe the device before reimporting the contacts if there is now way to delete them.

Dec 3, 2011How did I delete my Contacts? Here's what happened:
1. I had a good set of contacts in the phone itself, and on the SD card.
2. Trying to determine if Wifi Calling could possibly work with no sim installed, or with a dead Tmo sim installed, I tried both ways, in that order. (In fact, though different messages appeared, neither scenario worked.Both times, my SD was in the Defy. And the dead sim had never been used in the Defy.) I had to sign into Motoblur during this exercise.
3. I put my good sim back in.I signed back into Motoblur.I noticed during the evening that incoming calls did not show the caller etc etc etc. In fact, I had no contacts, said the phone. Not even, apparently, in the phone memory.
4. I imported contacts from the SD card. A couple recent changes made to the phone memory contacts were not present.
What in the previous steps caused my phone contacts to disappear? Just loading up a dead sim? Could it have really been so dumb as to attempt to generate a new (blank) set from that sim without asking,saying 'this will replace your contacts; do you want to continue? Though that sim had been used in a Moto Spice, Android 2.1, I cannot say with certainty that I'd ever exported the Spice XT300 contacts to the sim.And now, I decide to export the contacts to the SIM for safety sake. I see only one item, My Info. I choose All Contacts (at the top) , and it sits there seemingly forever, doing nothing.The only thing I can do is back out of that. There's 'Select All' at the bottom left, but it can't be clicked if All Contacts was. If I do that instead, it just selects me.
I rebooted, and got nothing different.I only have 100 contacts.So if those 100 are in the phone memory, why won't they export? If they're not in there, then where did the Import from SD put them?
Xperia X8 :: Songs Disappear When Transferred To It?
Sep 9, 2011Whenever i transfer songs to my memory card,I can see that thye've transfered but as soon as my phone has finished searching the card, the songs are no longer there.if i take my memory card out and open it on my pc it's as if they never transfered.It doesn't matter what method i use I have tried several memory cards that work in other phones and i have ensured that the memory card/ usb cable has been removed properly.

May 29, 2013I used the stock software for Sony Xperia Z2.
I am incredibly frustrated with the way the contacts app links contacts randomly and without my input.
Every now and again I have to delete all the contect on the Contacts app so I stop getting the "unfortunatelly contacts has sttopped" messate.
Everytime i do it, the application decides to link together contacts that are not at all related following some random set of rules. Funny enough, the links the application decides to stablish don't happen in the same way everytime everytime I do it.
This means that I spend more time sorting my phone contacts than enjoying my "top of the range" phone.
My Nexus S, more than four years old and running on 4.4.4, doesn't suffer any problems like this with the default contacts application.
