View 3 RepliesI have a second hand blackberry bold 900. When I go on to the browser it only brings up "hotspot browser" . I have tried to change the settings but there are no other options in the menu. Perhaps the other owner had restricitons. Should I reload my blackberry with software or what else can I do?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am having a huge issues with my e-mail/internet and text messaging capabilities with my tour plus the phone constantly shuts off. I am on my 3rd tour (2nd replacement phone). This issue started about 4-6 weeks ago w/my first tour, it was replaced then the second one started randomly shutting off, then I am now on tour #3 and am having major issues:I'm not able to get a signal to receive phone calls, text messages or e-mails and today while I was at work (same spot for the last 6 months -- haven't moved and never had an internet/signal problem before) when I got out of work I had 18 e-mails, 16 text messages, 2 missed calls and my battery was practically drained and dying (which by the way under mobile connections and mobile network if I put it on 1VEX it can never find a signal or is always searching for a signal whereas if I put it as Global it can find a signal).I got this phone because I'm an avid overseas traveler and I need a phone w/me when I leave however this is causing a lot of frustration and annoyance.I've done everything to all devices:hard pull, complete hard drive wipe, updated service books, turned mobile networks on and off, made sure I had the most up-to-date software available NOTHING works.any suggestions?
View 11 Replies View RelatedI have a Bold 9000. Its unlocked I was told its a international version since it dosnt say ATT or t-mobile at the bottom of the phone. Well it only has the hotspot browser. And when I go to options >browser configuration> browser it only has one browser which is the hotspot browser. Theres no other browser there. Is there anything I can do to add the other browsers? Because I don't want to just have wi-fi alone because not every where you go has wi-fi. Can any one help me or tell me what I should do?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a Pearl 3G running the OS 6 pre release copy 6.00424.My device always switches to 3G when I use the browser, which costs me money! Before with OS 6.00344 I was able to use only WiFi with the internet browser, and when I was out of WiFi range, the device would say "Browsing over the cellular network is not part of your service plan ..." After upgrading to 424 I have been charged about 5 dollars in data use for using the internet function. I have unltd BBM etc but not data for internet. How can I reset this function to use the HotSpot browser, like before, to prevent getting charges?I already tried to go into the 'Options' from the browser menu, and there is no option to change to Hot Spot browser. I know on BB OS 5 there was an option to switch them from WAP, BIS, etc and WiFi.

Can someone tell me what the difference between internet browser and hotspot browser settings are?
View 11 Replies View Relatedthe Hotspot Browser icon shows on the main menu but when I click on it nothing happens. If I select the Hotspot Browser icon and then press the Menu key, I get kicked into the main menu. Have searched far and wide for the answer to this problem, but no luck. Most posts complaining about the Hotspot Browser are about getting a connection to the Internet. I am not even that far -- the browser simply doesn't load.I have a BB email plan and wifi. The wifi works fine for email with the mobile network turned off, so I know that my Wifi settings are fine.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI recently installed Tank's Act 2 .497 Hybrid (which is awesome) on my 9550. Previously, I had only been running the stock OS 5.0.0.320 on my device. I actually searched quite a bit, but found no problems that were quite the same as what I'm experiencing. I had posted this same issue on page 17 of Tank's thread, but decided to start a new thread just to be able to reach more of the masses, as I'm not sure if this issue is specific to Tank's hybrid or not.
Everything works great, with one lone exception--I have my default browser set to "hotspot" as I always have, and previously (using .320) if I was in an area with no WIFI signal, the browser would just automatically switch over to the Internet browser and load my pages just fine. Now, however, if I have no WIFI signal, I get a "This is a WIFI service. Please ensure your device has an active WIFI connection and try again." message, forcing me to go into the browser settings and manually change the browser from "hotspot" to "Internet".Is this normal (for any OS version)? Is there some setting somewhere I'm missing? Seems to be a bit of a pain, just to take advantage of WIFI, to have to set this manually all the time.
*Also, as much as I appreciate the help, I'm not looking for "Use Opera Mini! It PWNS the BB Browser!!!1!". Yeah, I know there are other browsers out there, some with great features (and speeds), but I'm just trying to figure out this issue with the BB Browser.
When I try to change the Default Browser Configuration I didn't find any browser except Hotspot Browser.my operator still doesn't have the BlackBerry feature and I need to use the internet in my 9700 blackberry but alwayes it opens in the Wi Fi connection.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have had the curve for a few weeks now. At first i changed the settings of the browser to "hotspot" so i could use it with wifi. It was working really well, then all of a sudden it stopped durin browsing. The phone says the wifi connection is fine, but whenever i go to the broswer and try to go to a website it just says loading at the bottom and nothing happens.
Can anyone help with this? should i restart the phone setting somehow because i might have done changed some setting during browsing without realising or is this an actual issue with the phone?
I've had a problem, and hoped the update would fix it, but it didn't.Not a major thing, but I subscribe to the $30 Sprint wireless hotspot service. It seems to be okay when in 4g. But, it seems like when I'm in 3g, and I end the hotspot (uncheck the box), the notification of it being active stays in the notification bar. It's uncertain if the hotspot is still running. The only way to clear it from the notification bar is to power off/on the phone.

View 5 Replies View RelatedFor people who does not have the browser click issues.. did you download a "special" OS update that is different from the rest of the world?I'm trying to understand why some people have this bug and some don't?I am thinking that people don't claim to not have the browser click issue are A. not understanding what the browser click bug is, so they are clueless to if they have this problem or not? B. don't use their native browser to click on the link much to notice? For me, it takes 3 to 4 attempts to click on a link to work and using a third party browser isn't an option for me with a 5.0 OS since opera mini 4.2 version does not work and the 5.0 version sucks with scrolling. Bolt browser is not that great for me either.
View 14 Replies View RelatedThis morning I couldn't remember my device password and I had to wipe my blackberry as a result. P.S. Could have sworn someone reset it for me via Blackberry network once, but could be wrong-- couldn't find any forum regarding that. After my data was wiped I reloaded my contacts via an app called Lookout Mobile. B-Berry was being fickle so I let it charge alone for a while to blow off some steam. Restarted our unrequited relationship this afternoon only to find a number of problems.
First, foremost, and probably the center of all problems is that I have no access to the internet or any app that uses the internet. I don't even have a browser icon. I called my wireless service provider and I unwittingly performed every one of their tasks only to find that they don't understand my problem.
I have battery pulled. I have done the host table. I have done diagnostics. I can't seem to find the problem. They also made me download the blackberry desktop software-- obviously should have used it hindsight, but does no good to me as a solution to this particular problem. When I try to access something like the Facebook app, it tells me, " You are currently on a service plan that does not support this application.connect to a Wi-Fi network or contact your service provider to upgrade your data plan."
Before moving to Rwanda I purchased a BB 9630 through Sprint, my US provider. Upon arriving in Rwanda, October 7, I took the phone to MTN Rwanda. They put in a sim card and everything worked perfect: browser, emails, etc. On October 20 I quit receiving emails and could no longer access internet.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've got an unlocked Verizon Tour that I'm trying to use in Colombia.I can currently make/receive calls and send and receive texts but I can't find my dad gum browser.
Phone info:
Tour 9630
v4.7.1.61(Platform 4.1.0.81)
Carrier: Comcel
I had the phone wiped entirely clean yesterday because my phone was acting weird and wouldn't make calls(although it would receive them). Anyway, that fixed the problem there. Then I signed up for the data plan for a day to try it out, it immediately said I was connected, and still does when I check. I just simply don't have any way to access the internet and the only option I have when I want to set up email is using the blackberry email. When I go to "manage connections" it tells me I'm connected to Comcel and that my mobile data is "on". It does however say I'm not connected to Blackberry Internet Server or the Blackberry Enterprise server. I think these are different than regular internet though.
Things I've tried:Hard Reset Pulling the battery for 30 seconds while the phone was on Going to options>advanced options>host routing table>and clicking register now Tried toggling between network selection mode A and B(I have no idea what that is, but thought it might do something)
My Phone stopped browsing what should I do? Every time I click a link to browse it just goes through the loading process and then remains stuck with the message "loading".
View 1 Replies View RelatedFor the last couple of days my Bionic's browser opens for a half a second in portrait, then switches to landscape and can't be changed out of landscape. No other applications have this issue. My display setting for auto-rotate screen is checked.I've powered off and on and removed and replaced the battery a few times.I've gone into the App Tray>Menu>Manage Apps>All>Browser but I don't find an option to check or uncheck Landscape Only. I cleared the cache while I was there but that doesn't change anything. Since it's only the browser there must be a setting somewhere but I can't figure out how to find it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedOkay, I log into my gmail on my computer and it tells me my email is being viewed by another IP address. So I think did someone hack me? But it came to me that it could be my BlackBerry. It shows the other ip address not coming from a browser but from IMAP. I don't know what IMAP is. Is that the push email for blackberry? I went to whatsmyipaddress.com and my blackberry ip address was NOT the ip address it shows in IMAP on my gmail account. But I hear that blackberries use more than one IP address. So can you tell me, is IMAP pushed email? I haven't used the gmail app in a long time. Only my regular blackberry email. I need to know asap because if someone is in my account I'm going to have to change my password.
