Oct 1, 2011Trying to sync BB tour 9630 w/desktop Microsoft outlook but organizer says the address book not installed.doesn't appear that contacts are on BB either.

BB Bold :: 9700 - Address Book Not Installed On Desktop?
Aug 24, 2011have 6.0 on my Bold 9700 and am using Desktop 6.1.0.35. In the organizer it saysAddress book, calender, memo, and tasks are not installed. Will not let me sync. I have wiped the BB several times and retried. nothing seems to work. I have read many posts but can not find anything to work.

Jan 3, 2012For reasons unknown my desktop organizer section suddenly says 'calender (not installed)'.I have not knowingly reconfigured anything. but clearly I cannot sync the calender now.I have tried removing the software and reinstalling but the same problem persists.I recently removed the BBM and Facebook applications on my device by using the desktop facility as they were annoying as they sought to access my calender, I do not know if that is connected with this issue?

Jan 25, 2010I have been synching both Yahoo Address Book and Yahoo Calendar successfully for months.Suddenly, Address Book no longer synchs.Yahoo calendar still works.The problem occurs aftew Desktop reads all the contacts.It halts while "Synchronization Progress reading from Yahoo Address Book" displays.That message has displayed for up to an hour with no progress.I then disconnect and halt Desktop.I can still synch Yahoo Calendar.I have not updated desktop or device software.

I have problem with the address Book in the Blackberry Desktop Application shows under- Applications- Address Book (not installed) this is happened after 233 out of 720 Contact of my Outlook contact was synchronized in my black Berry, I can't sync it any more? I went through configuration and reset in the Desktop application and I can click in address book and associate the contact with outlook, when I click OK, it is still "Grey out" in the Desktop Application, and still shows 'Not installed? I Checked for application update and I update the desktop from 5 to 6. It is still Grey out and shows "Address Book not installed"? Interesting point is I have BB Curve 8320 and it is in my BB desktop application and I can sync the address book and the application is not grey out?

Aug 27, 2010I just recently downloaded the BB DS6 and now my Address Book will not sync. On the Sync screen, it is grayed out and says "not installed". I never had this problem until I downloaded the new desktop software. I can't update my contacts from Outlook 2003 to my phone. Calendar, Memopad and Tasks sync fine.

I have Windows Vista operating system and every time I try to use Intellisync to sync my Yahoo Address book with the device the program stops working. What am I doing wrong? Jun 9, 2010I don't know how it happened but when I was composing an SMS message I noticed that I have the same contact twice with the same numbers. Some of the contacts are just copies and some have a facebook name on it. I have tried deleting and reinstalling facebook but the issue is still there. My question is: is there I way I can quickly delete all this duplicate contacts without doing it one by one?

May 23, 2010Having just bought a "Bold 9700" I am new to the BlackBerry-World. I would like to sync my emails (e.g. the emails I wrote and sent on the road) and the adress book entries of the device (software version 5.0.0.423) with "Windows Mail" on my home computer (OS Visa, SP 2). Up to now I couldn't find out how to do this, either with the "Desktop Manager" (version 5.0.1) or with some other piece of software (???). Potentialy it looks like the "DesktopManager" could be up to this task, but the box to check for this is not highlighted, so I can not select this option.

May 13, 2010I think about 90% of my contacts in my address book on my Tour had all of a sudden disappeared. Yes, I didn't do anything and it's gone! Well this is what happened. I added a new email account to my BB and it was "activating" the email account. There was also a new icon that showed up while "activating". After about 20 minutes it's done "activating" and the icon was gone. So I thought everything was fine and dandy. The next day, I was told that my windows live account kept on signing in and out on it's own every few minutes. I made a call using speed key and there was no name for the number (the call did go through though). So I went to my address book and saw that 90% of my contacts had disappeared. That's what happened. I did not do a back up before I added a new email account to BB.

Jan 20, 2012I was trying to create a sub folder in my address book & now I can't find my original add book. The add book icon is still there, but there are no contacts in it. The best i remember i hit filter and chose business & typed in a name for what i thought would be a new folder or group. i'm not sure what happened, but I can't see any of my contacts. I have switched from personl to business & back again & it says "no contacts" on both. But if I go to email & put in a letter all of my old contacts that begin with that letter show up. & my speed dials still work. But if i go to sms/mms & do compose sms it shows "No Addresses"....well I spoke too soon...now if i go to email & type in a letter it don't show a list of ppl that begin with that letter.... Nokia :: Email Address From Address Book On E72 And Removing Old Emails
Mar 1, 2010I like my E72 but I have two problems that really annoy me.
1. In the past when ever I would write a new email I would get list of suggested email addresses in the "To" field. For example, if I would was to write the letter S I would get the email address of the people in my address book whose name starts with an S (sam, Sofia etc). for some reason this feature stopped working on my phone and I can't find how to make it work again. if I want to send an email I need to manually write the email address in the "To" field. The auto suggestion feature works perfectly on my wife's phone (an E72 with the same firmware - 22.007) but on my phone it won't suggest email addresses from my contacts.
2. Another problem is that my Gmail that is synced to the phone, through the Nokia Messenger server is locked on "hide emails older than 2 weeks". Now, I have hundreds of emails stored on my phone that dates to February 1st - the day I got the Phone.
Is there a way to delete these emails automatically, without deleting them on the Gmail account itself? It makes my phone really when going through the emails.
BB Desktop Software :: Installed Desktop Manager 5.0.1 - No IP Modem Icon
Mar 12, 2010Installed Desktop Manager 5.0.1, downloaded March 11, so it's as recent as can be. The documentation says there should be an "IP Modem" icon on the main screen. Not there. Re-installed, to be sure; still not there. Plowed through the on-line docs to find that the icon will be missing if there's no mdmgen.inf in my Windows (XP), but it's there. Yes, there's a "Standard Modem" in my computer modems list. So -- why no "IP Modem" icon? Don't know if this is relevant, but my Blackberry is a 9530 from Verizon.

Mar 27, 2010I've used various Palm pilots for many years and recently replaced the Palm with a BB Tour. I'd hoped there was desktop software similar to the Palm Desktop where you can view & modify calendar & contact info directly instead of having to use the BB for all data entry, but I don't see this feature in Desktop Manager. Am I missing something? It's a pity if this isn't available, it makes the BB a much less attractive option for me.

Feb 10, 2010After I installed the new operating system I lost a feature. Both my husband and I have the Tour. For example, if you highlight the Games folder and press the Blackberry options, one Tour can choose "edit folder" and pick a new Icon. The other Tour mine is missing that choice. Any fix? If I create my own folder, I have the feature, but not for my Games, Applications and other folder that were there in the old OS.

Jun 18, 2010Each time I reset or restart my Bold, all these service books are put on my phone automatically. Things like Facebook, AccuWeather, TeleNav, Tetris Demo, ToneMaker Demo, A BUNCH of games and other things. They are not installed but they are links that open up my browser to download them. I delete the service books so its goes away, but after i restart, BAM they are all back!!! this never happened before I got a free month of data service from t-mobile. Or is this an automatic when you get a data-plan? How can I stop or block this?
