Google alerted me to suspicious login activiity to my account last night, so I changed my email pass. I'm trying to update the password in my Blackberry email settings, but getting error messages. It keeps saying I'm typing the last password incorrectly, but I'm not. What can I do differently?

View 14 Replies View RelatedI updated to 5.0, it's ok, not great. One problem i have is my lock icon is now gone, i preferred to lock my phone this way and not use the lock button on the top left. To get it back, i enabled a password. Then it came back. So i figured i would just disable it and the icon would still be there and functional like it was with 4.7, it's not, it dissapears again.Is there anyway to get the icon back where i can just hit * and the phone icon to unlock, I know this is minor, but it is what I like.Also, with 5.0 my standby mode is not working anymore, any thoughts?*on a side note, I'm not a fan of my BBM and SMS looking a like and co-mingling when I have someone as a contact and BBM contact, just a preference.can someone get my lock icon back working without a password?

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy Tour is 3 months old. Suddenly calls are dropping in the house and the battery charger is taking 10 hours to charge the spare OEM battery. Running the 5.0.419 and it's been fine. Verizon came out with theirs and it's so bad I went back to 419. Now I have an email from RIM saying new software for the phone is available but it doesn't say what version it is so I'm afraid to load it. Any one else have same issue? Phone was fine after going to the first 5.0 for 2 months but now after having changed from Verizon's 5.0. (been a month or so) the issues started about a week ago.

Although I can make and receive calls with no problem.Did u guys have to do something special prior to entering the card?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI had to do a software update (obviously) because most of the features on my phone were not working, including the proximity sensor. Since updating it yesterday (9.6.10) I have had even more trouble. I can no longer set a password for when locking my phone. This is hugely inconvenient as security is one of the most important features for me. The only time it prompts a password is when the phone switches on. Also, when locking the phone, whatever was displayed before locking remains displayed, it just disables the ability to edit. Thus defeating the object.
When I locked my phone I liked the fact that whatever I was doing was hidden, and a password was necessary to access it! Finally, the proximity sensor to my holster is still malfunctioning. It activates when the phone is 3/4 of the way in, but the screen is then switched back on, along with full keyboard function when it is fully in the case. Thus also removing the ability to "lock upon holstering". I'm not happy with this software update and please tell me there is a fix for it, because I'm ready to throw this thing away. Ever since I upgraded to 5.0 and activated BES, my password keeper and notepad are gone (two apps that I avidly use!)
When I plug my blackberry into desktop manager, the apps are not there to be loaded on. I tried downloading them online and on blackberry website to no avail. The tech guys from my work can't figure it out either.
Any idea how to get these apps back?
How do I turn on password lock? I have it enabled but when I push the lock button up top, it doesn't require a password to unlock. The problem is, I want a password entered to unlock!

View 5 Replies View RelatedI had a message on the general message screen telling me that my gmail password needed to be validated. i never had a problem receiving gmail to my general messages before this. I rarely use the gmail app on the phone because it tends to use more battery than the general message space. Here is what I did:
1. I went to email settings and tried to put in the password. I got a message telling me that the password was not valid even though I know it is the correct password. So I tried again.
2. I turned my phone off and then back on and tried again - same message appeared. I read further and it said that if the problem persisted I needed to contact gmail.
3. I next did a battery pull. The same message appeared again when I tried again - and again!
4. I deleted my gmail account from the phone, turned the phone off, turned it back on and then tried to reenter the gmail account and password. It told me that that gmail account was already in the phone - but the password still would not validate.
5. I changed my gmail password on my computer, tried to input the new password into the account on the phone and that didn't work either!

I tried opening the password keeper app and then trying it. Nothing. Now, I have an .idp file on my computer and apparently no way to open it (I need the data as my old Tour is now gone).

Blackberry Tour keeps giving me error that password for my email is wrong I'm having the problem now with my hotmail email on my BB since yesterday. I've tried to remove my battery, I've entered it like 30 +times, I even deleted the email from my phone. Now I can't add it back, it keeps saying that it's an invalid password and it can't validate, and to contact hotmail.com. I even changed my password on hotmail.com, I just logged into my hotmail on the actual computer with the correct same password, the same one that my BB won't take. When I put in my password on the email setup page it says, "Processing, please wait..." Then I get this error, "Invalid email address or password. Verify your email address and password. If the error persist, contact hotmail.com. " I have other email accounts on my phone that are working just fine.
View 19 Replies View RelatedAny ideas before I do a hard reset?As of last night, my Blackberry isn't fully unlocking after I type my password. I type the correct password and hit enter, the password entry section turns dark (or it will stay on the "Enter Password screen" and appear to freeze). (If I type the wrong password it simply prompts me again, so i know I am typing the correct password). This is after multiple battery pulls.Sometimes after typing the correct password, I can hold down the blackberry button and it will bring up the box that lets me switch to BBM, the browser, the Home Screen, etc and I can "switch" to that program, but there is a sort of frozen shadow of the Enter Password box over what ever app I switch to and I can't use the trackball or keyboard in those apps.This "frozen box' is preventing me from using any application on my BB!I CAN receive calls. Barely. I can only make calls if I pull battery and DON'T unlock the phone and go to the Place Call option.I upgraded to OS 5 over a week ago and things were fine until last night. I can hear my BB when it receives messages (the tones work) or txt etc but can't read anything due to the lock up!The only suspect is Google Talk which I installed two days ago and seemed to be hogging resources and draining the battery, however the phone worked fine for about a day with it on. Perhaps Google Talk is launching at startup and hanging things up? I doubt it but this is full disclosure.I have also, pulled battery and removed the micro-sd card to see if that had any affect -- alas to no avail.One analogy I can think of is it as if the Windows Explorer is hung but everything else is working.

This morning I changed my password on my gmail account and now it will not let me receive messages on my blackberry. When I restored my backup, I received an error message but everything restored except for the password storage app and the standard games. View 12 Replies View RelatedI just recently updated my BB Tour to 5.0.After doing the install i plugged in my BB to my USB.BBSAK recognizes it and so does DM But when i click on Start and My Computer the BB isn't recognized in the J drive (Running Windows XP)I installed my mp3 to make sure that the USB port was good.The PC recognized my mp3 Player (so no issues there)I then moved the BB to another USB and i'm still getting the same results Also before i did the update my PC was recognizing My BB in the J Drive.It's only after the update to 5.0 am i having these problems .I was wondering if anyone else is having this problem?

I'm really unhappy with how the SMS messages are set up. I don't want to see all my messages to one person grouped together. It's fine for BBM, but I really dislike it for my SMS.
