I got three random reboots in 1hour with it on. Turned it off and no problems
I have noticed this multiple times now that random contacts are missing from my address book. Today I got a call from my mother and her contact info was gone as well! I haven't installed any new apps and I haven't gone through and wiped out any of my other old contacts.
I am running .591 and I know that's an oops. Good thing for Verizon's backup assistant! I was able to get the numbers back online.
If I don't touch the phone ie make calls txt etc then it will stay on until the battery dies. if I pick it up and use it in anyway after a few minutes it will shut down(red light) and try to restart. and I mean try because it goes into a restart loop but only the timer dial shows up for a second or two and then red light light again. Even if I pull the battery and reinstall it still does not boot. However if I install a different battery(spare) the phone will completely startup. I have tried upgrading the os downgrading the os, unistalling all third party apps nothing helps. PS auto on/off is disabled. And why does putting a different battery in it change anything?
View 1 Replies View RelatedThis has been going on for about five days now. Whenever I don't take full care in how I place down my blackberry, basically everyday use, the screen turns black, the red LED shows, and the phone reboots. I really don't know what the problem is.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a BlackBerry Tour 9630, virtually brand new. I recieved my current phone barely two weeks ago from an insurance claim as my previous phone was stolen.
I was just headed to bed, I checked my phone a final time and had no issued. I always charge my phone on my nightstand next to my bed while I sleep. The instant I plugged the USB end of the power chord into the phone the screen went haywire. The screen is now saturated with a random pattern of colored lines. I cannot see or do anything. I tried battery out restarts and it did nothing. My phone has never been wet, never fallen or had any impacts, and is always in a silicone case. Again, this phone is basically brand new and the problem started the instant I began charging it tonight! What the heck happened and how the heck do I fix it!?
I just bought the Bose Bluetooth Series 2 headset and connected it to my Tour 9630. But there is one BIG issue: when I get a call and turn my bluetooth on, the phone shuts off and reboots.I use Sprint PCS as my carrier and my OS is version 5.My phone is sitting on my desk so a static electric charge is not causing this. On screen, I see the incoming call noticification (the usual with caller ID) and when I turn on my Bose Bluetooth, I see the popup window that tells me my Bluetooth is connected, then the screen goes blank because the phone shuts down and reboots. This is my third Bluetooth earpiece but the first on that causes the reboot. By the way, if I leave the headset turned on, everything works fine--I can answer the phone with no reboots. However, this will kill the battery in the headset as well as my phone as it keeps the bluetooth connection.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI can't turn off my alarm on my blackberry. I don't think i turned it on, the alarm symbol just showed up next to my clock. I don't used it, so i was confused. This is a picture of what the alarm looks like:
Ive never seen that symbol before. I turn on the daily alarm, it doesn't turn on it just stays the same. Turn it to off, it won't go away. I tried everything i could think of including taking out the battery. it will NOT go away! its going to drive me crazy if my phone goes off at 3 pm every day!
My friend somehow set this alarm on her BB so it goes off ever day but I can't seem to find where to turn it off. It shows up on the screen when in the clock and it looks like a phone (on the bottom right side when in clock mode). Its not the same as the usual clock alarm which looks like a clock . Can't figure out where to turn this thing off at and its driving us nuts!

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a 9630. I check my emails on a daily on a basis on the computer, but the icon still shows them as unread on my BlackBerry, which in turn leaves the yellow envelope/red asterisk on my home screen. I'm sure others have had this question before, but I did a few searches on CB and google to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.
View 10 Replies View RelatedMy Tour will not turn on after about 2 weeks of inactivity. The battery was stored in it at appx 40% (I realize this was probably a mistake...). When plugged into the charger, the red light goes on for appx 10 secs, then turns off (whether battery is in or out). Several battery pulls have not made a difference. Phone has been plugged in for over an hour now, with no result. Tried putting the battery in with the phone plugged/unplugged. Plugging phone into PC USB tries to install the drivers (so it's def not fried)

View 14 Replies View RelatedOk so I use the auto on/off feature, and recently i have noticed that after my phone turns off for the night, if there is a event on my calendar where the alarm would go off during the time that the phone is off it will turn itself back on and let the alarm go off. Is this normal, or is something wrong?

View 5 Replies View RelatedThe small clock kept showing up in the middle of the screen on my blackberry. A vzw rep told me sometimes I need to reboot my blackberry because its like a computer. So, I took the battery out and put it back in to reboot it and it won't come on. A white blank background will show up with the small clock in the middle. Then the screen will go black with the small clock in the middle and the red light blinking.

View 14 Replies View RelatedMy Storm will reboot, seemingly without cause or warning, and sometimes take hours to reach the home screen again. When it does this it will go black, the red light will come on and it usually goes off after a short time. After that a black screen with a clock pops up and finally the BlackBerry screen with the loading bar at the bottom. It goes through this process several times before it will turn on. When it does come on it tells me the battery is drained, even if it was fully charged before it shut off. It makes it pointless to keep paying for a phone.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy phone randomly reboots while it's sitting there not being used. This is very odd and I'm starting to believe it's a firmware bug so I ask you to report this to the dev team. Basically the phone will reboot and that's it, but not a full reboot, because it won't ask for pin code, it will just close all apps, play the boot animation, and go back to the lock screen. The only way to tell it happened is either to be looking at the phone as it reboots or check under diagnostics -> system incidents. My phone is totally stock and I don't have anything too weird installed that would mess with the system. It has been factory reset and refurbished.
View 9 Replies View RelatedSince the start that I own my Galaxy S6 I'm having issues with the phone. The biggest issue is that when I use my phone it will freeze for 1/2 seconds and then it does a soft reboot.
All my apps/data stays open but I have to wait for like 1 minute before I can start working again.
The weird thing is that sometimes it happens like 4 times in half an hour but sometimes it doesn't reboot for more then a month. Then you think 'finally it doesn't happen anymore' and then from outta nowhere it reboots itself, it's really frustrating.
I've already factory reset my phone and wiping my cache partition but it won't work.
A couple of weeks ago I traded in my 9630 for a 9900 and love it but recently the device has been doing random soft resets for no apparent reason.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a Torch 9860 on Vodafone Ireland. I have installed and reinstalled the latest OS for the phone 7.1.0.342 from Vodafone. The phone now reboots in low coverage areas when switching from 3g to Edge. It will not happen when I have it set to 3G only mode. My phone is still under Warranty.
View 4 Replies View RelatedSometimes I unlock my phone and the screen remains black, then the phone reboots but weirdly it doesn't ask for the SIM pin number. Other times I notice the phone reboots by itself and I notice it because obviously the screen lights up during the boot animation. This happens very rarely, so far it has happened about 3 to 5 times in a couple of months but it's still mega annoying when it happens.
And don't tell me to factory reset, I already did that less than a month ago and it happened anyway. Factory resetting is just a huge waste of time 99% of the time especially if you are not rooted.
I'm on Project Fi and after I got the OTA 5.1.1 update my phone has been randomly rebooting up to three times a day.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently acquired a Torch 9810, originally from Rogers but MEP2 unlocked and running on Fido with a 6GB data plan. It's my first BB, a choice that I made specifically because I was so impressed by my Playbook. There is, however, one thoroughly frustrating problem, which is that it suffers from random reboots. Symptomatically, there is a brief pause, followed by the backlight turning off (I can still see the previous content on the screen sometimes), followed by the red LED and then the BB logo with the loading bar. It looks similar to a soft reset or battery pull. These reboots seem to be completely random:
1) They take place over a wide range of activities, including web browsing, email reading and composing, Facebook, Twitter, built-in apps, even when looking through settings menus.2) The frequency seems to be random too, sometimes I can go for half a day without a reboot, but sometimes the phone will reboot twice in the span of a few minutes.
I tried reloading the stock Rogers 7.0.0.254 OS but this did not solve the problem.Thereafter, I have gone through 3 different 7.1 OS versions, each time using BBSAK to wipe my device to a 507 state. I have tried Telus 7.1.0.267, Mobilicity 7.1.0.378 and even the latest official OS for my phone, Rogers 7.1.0.391. I'm not sure that my apps are contributing to the problem since I have the problem after a wipe, but I have the following installed:BB ProtectBB BridgeBB MapsBB 5 soundsFacebookTwitterWindows LiveMessengerYahoo MessengerGoogle TalkWikitudeWord MoleBrickbreakerGoogle Maps There seems to be plenty of free storage space, over 180MB right now.
I would like to share this problem i'm having with my lumia 800, and possibly see if someone has a solution to it.After buying this phone from Orange in France a few days ago, it has been making random reeboots 10 to 15 times a day. It could be when I'm writing a sms or using any app at any time, the phone just suddenly goes "au revoir" and reboots! Sometimes it does it twice or 3 times successivelyHard resetting the phone so far hasn't done any good...
