BB Torch :: Message Inbox Icon For Text Message?
Nov 28, 2011Message inbox icon (notification/ indicator) for Text message does not appear on my Torch 9860 when I receive text message (the little tiny text message bubble icon).I get it for email and blackberry messenger (little envelop for email, blue bubble for messenger) but nothing for text message.

Aug 18, 2010The bar on the top of the screen between the "select a profile" and the "search magnifying glass" where the notifications pop up not sure what that page is called but in this slide down screen under Text Messages I have a text message that is staying at unread. Even though I have deleted the text message and I've tried everything to try and get it to go away. Today I have a Blackberry Messenger Message that won't delete as well. Does anyone else have this problem and figure out a way to refresh and get ride of it? I've tried turning the device on and off a few times but doesn't fix the issue.

Dec 13, 2011I'm getting a message memory "Message Memory is full! Please delete some SMS"! I cannot believe this.. I have over 13k sms messages on my 9800 and I have never gotten this warning. I just restored a 9800 IPD to my 9810.. And my sms msg aren't on my SIM CARD but on blackberry memory!
I updated my bb to 7.0.0.540 but I'm getting the same msg.
BB Curve :: App Err Message And Phone Won't Work
Sep 16, 2012For 2 days now my phone just show the clock spinning for several minutes, maybe up to an hour, then a white screen pops up that says App Err, and click the middle button to reset and then if just goes back through the same process. The folks at AT&T said I might need a software update, so I downloaded the desktop software onto my computer and have tried to update my phone that way, but it just does the same thing, the clock just spins like it is thinking, and then it will just shut off.

Sep 16, 2011i bought my mobile about a year ago. it was working pretty well.about 2-3 days ago, my phone stopped vibrating on an incoming message.It does vibrate during an incoming call.I have restored the factory settings,switched it on and off,took out the battery and put it back on, but nothing seems to work.Also, the normal message notification(the small envelope on the upper right corner) doesnt show up when i recieve a message. I tried to set it on general,so that it wud give the message tone on an incoming message,but it doesnt give the message tone as well.

Jun 26, 2010As I was having my iphone 4 activated, the "genius" informed me that Facetime will not work unless you have a message plan with AT&T. Funny how those "free" Facetime chats now cost $5 per month. Again, AT&T and Apple do a bait and switch. Or did they assume everyone had a message plan. I didn't and I still don't. Text messaging is the biggest scam these wireless companies have going. I can send an email with attachments, photos, videos, War & Peace if I want to and it doesn't cost me a nickel. Sent a two letter text message and it will cost me $0.20. If I really want to send a text, there are dozens of free text apps out there. Apparently, when you initiate a facetime call, it sends a text message to the recipient which doesn't count as a text message. So why the hell do you need a plan? Charge me $.20, not $5.00 per month. Blatant false advertising!!!!!

Jan 12, 2010Just got the new 9700 and everything works except the app world. Personal email works, blackberry messenger works, just not the app world. I downloaded it and i get an error message which is as follows (upgrade your service to a plan that includes browsing and discover a world of possibilties at BlackBerry App World. Contact your service provider for more details). I have the blackberry personal plan, I can browse the internet, but the app world still wont work. I know its not a location issue because my coworker has the Bold 9000 and the same plan as me and his works fine. I have also tried unistalling and reinstalling the app, hard shock etc etc. So what the heck is the issue.

Mar 15, 2012in the text message conversation view,there's only a soft sound alert when new messages are received.even when the screen is off, you get no popup preview or a regular notification sound whatsoever.the only way to keep getting the regular notification & previews is to quit the app each time you send out a text.often times when you are in the middle of something and are unable to focus on the phone itself for the conversation, you forget to quit the message app, then you are totally not aware there have been messages coming in because it only gives you a soft sound alert that's totally unable to hear when you're outside walking, or other similar scenarios
It's been bugging me for years, it's specially annoying when the other person I chat with isn't aware of this issue and ocassionally misses out my messages.i mean,if apple insists that to avoid this problem, the users MUST remember to quit the conversation RIGHT AFTER EVERY SINGLE LINE, this is just absolutely unrealistic.I now do it every time because I'm aware of the issue, but not the other people I have conversations with.I've had too many situations where I had to wait for a long time to receive response only to find out that the other person wasn't aware the new text messages, because it was simply too soft to hear, and completely no other sort of things to notify you with.so i wonder if there really isn't a way to change the notification behavior, cuz apparently it's impossible that I make everybody I send text to change their habits just for this.

Jan 10, 2011Have noticed that I'm unable to send / receive messages unless I'm connected to a Wi Fi network. I was in Singapore last week and the only way I could use messenger was to use my laptop as a hotspot using Connectify ad yes I did have data roaming enabled but I get exactly the same problem back here in Scotland, if I send a msg I get the 'pending' icon and nothing happens. I have spoken to my service provider today (Vodafone UK) and they said all the required features are in place, the settings at their end look correct and that I should post something here.

Dec 27, 2011I received a BB Torch 9860 as a Christmas gift and have been having some problems with it. First of all, I had issues registering a BlackBerry ID and was finally able to register online and set up my ID. I then signed in on my device using the password I'd created, and this prompted a back-up, followed by a lengthy process which I assumed to be a restoration back to factory settings, based on what was appearing on screen.I left the device to complete this process, which seemed to take over an hour, and a message eventually appeared to tell me that it had been successful. From then on, I had problems with the screen freezing and all buttons and icons have been completely unoperational. I rebooted several times, removed the battery, the sim card and the memory card individually and then a combination of all of these things together, but nothing helped and each time the device restarted, the screen was still frozen. I then removed the battery while it was switched on, and this seems to have solved the problem, but I'm now really worried that I'm going to have ongoing problems.

Aug 18, 2011i installed the latest update 071.004 on e72, now text message doesn't work properly. i have to switch off and on once to recieve the msgs. most of the msgs i send will go n sit in outbox. i have to manually select each one and select send option in outbox to send them. Also found problems with bluetooth. send via bluetooth option doesn't work. it doesn't even search for the the devices available.I am also getting 'memory full-close some applications' error in messaging and also in the browsers.my phone has about 191Mb of free space and mem card(8gb) 5.6gb free.
