IPhone :: My Numbers Do Not Work When I Type A Message?
Mar 31, 2012
When I type a message the buttons along the bottom do not work, even when I try to access internet I am not able to switch between number and letters to be able to type the numbers or special characters?
I have my phone password protected and my password is all numbers. All of a sudden, I can't type in any numbers, so I can't use my phone. I'm not sure if my "alt" key doesn't work or if there's another issue.
I have a Bold 9790. All of a sudden I cannot type the number keys. In the past when I have typed the numbers it took me to my dialing screen where I can insert the phone number. But now it does not do anything....
I dropped my phone in water and then I dried it with a blow dryer put it in rice. Then it turned on a seems to work fine except when I use the keypad only the number symbol comes up or a square. Like no numbers or letters come up. I cant type messages. And when I scroll through my inbox it marks all the messages. I am confused I think my number lock is on or something.
When I receive a text message from a friend A, I cannot see, which device this friend texted me from. When I then hit reply, I dont know whether this message will be charged for (sending it to a mobile phone) or free (sending it to an apple ID). This is especially an issue with international texts. Is it possible to have the device shown below the name, they same way it works in "Recent" tab for phone calls? There I can see, whether the person called from their mobile phone, their home phone, via face time.I know, I could just start a new message and pick the receipient manually, or create two separate contacts with a hint in the first name field (e.g. "Apple ID) but that is not as convenient as to just reply to an exiting message.
I cannot type the letter "t" when phone is in portrait orientation. will only work when phone is in landscape. This causes some problems as some apps do not change orientation so when the "t" is needed to be entered it cannot be carried out
So I checked my text message inbox this morning to find a random number sitting there in between messages I had gotten the day before. There wasn't any writing underneath the number and when I clicked on the number, there wasn't even a text message... as if it was blank. What's weirder is that my phone didn't even register that I'd gotten a new text.. the number just appeared.
It happens quite often every 3rd sms i sent , that whenever I type a message then lights goes off and Handset restarts itself. I have done Hard Reset with *#7370# and Also Reinstalled the firmware.
MP3 files doesn't work on my Nokia X3-02 Touch and Type. When i transfer mp3 files from my media library (on Mac) to MicroSD card (playlist directory), and try to run them using the default X3-02 Touch and Type media player, they don't work. I don't get any error, the media player just skips them. Almost all of them. Though, some of the music files (mp3) do work. I'm not sure what the problem is, and how to report this problem. Can anyone please point me in the right direction?
Using a Samsung Galaxy S5 on Rogers, Lollipop.Started with the cursor jumping around randomly when I would type an email. Read a fix to turn off predictive text so I have to do that now just to use the email app. Now, I can't even type in the body of an email. If I create a new email, it prompts for the recipient, which I enter fine. Then it lets me select the subject field but it will not go into the body of the email when I touch it to begin typing my email. I've tried changing keyboards, minimizing the keyboard - nothing. This happens about 95% of the time.
Issue I am having, with any BBM, text or email I cannot type any number, symbol, or Cap Letter. Also I am finding that my tracker ball is intermediary working with some apps and not working at all with others.
I have a really simple a question, I can't seem to find it anywhere on the phone or web. When you press a button or type a message, it vibrates, how do I turn this off? I went into the keyboard settings, on a h t c there is a touch type option but I don't seem that.
While entering an SMS (text), when I reach a certain unknown number of written characters my N8 pops up message saying, 'Message type changed to multimedia msg.' There's-one-little-glitch: Where I live MMS service is - not - available! If I delete even one (1) character I get another pop up saying, 'Msg type changed to text msg.'
Nokia's solution: When the N8 tries to convert to mms go to Options > Sending Options > msg type > Text. Nokia's solution fails immediately after pressing 'Options' because there is NO 'Sending Options' option to select! How - can I disable/remove/get rid of this unwanted/forced MMS change over so I can write and send as many characters as I want/need in SMS (text).
I recorded a video using my LG G4 phone, and when I play it back on my G4, while watching it, I get an error "Cannot Play Video, unsupported file type". The video freezes, but I can still hear the video. I never had this issue with Samsung. How do I resolve it?
I have a huge problem with my N79, its only about 3 months above a year old. Its been acting up for the last 24 hours. When the phone's on, and i try using the keypad to either to type out a text or to move around the menu, the phone hangs / keypad doesnt work. I dont know whether its the phone hanging or the keypad problem because the screen goes dark, and i cant revive it, but its still on, and i have to restart the phone, but the same thing keeps happening. I tried hard reseting my phone, that didnt work either.
I have an LG AX265 on the Alltel network. What I am curious is to why my inbox is filling up at ~103 texts and not 300 as it says in the phone memory area.Another thing I was wondering is that when I type a text it max's out at like 160 some odd characters. Why wont it continue typing and send multiple texts at once?
I have a new Bold 9900 and my messages window is only showing shone numbers and appears to be frozen as well.
I have tried to reset the settings to messages only to no avail. There really seems to be something wrong because new calls are not even showing up Unopened messages continue to show up on the home screen at the top
When I do write an SMS to someone I clearly see her name but I get the reply on another thread with the phone number instead of hear name so 2 problem here, why another thread and why the phone number rather the name. Same thing when someone send me an SMS I do receive it as a number rather then the name and when I do reply it creates a new thread with the name of the person.
As I was having my iphone 4 activated, the "genius" informed me that Facetime will not work unless you have a message plan with AT&T. Funny how those "free" Facetime chats now cost $5 per month. Again, AT&T and Apple do a bait and switch. Or did they assume everyone had a message plan. I didn't and I still don't. Text messaging is the biggest scam these wireless companies have going. I can send an email with attachments, photos, videos, War & Peace if I want to and it doesn't cost me a nickel. Sent a two letter text message and it will cost me $0.20. If I really want to send a text, there are dozens of free text apps out there. Apparently, when you initiate a facetime call, it sends a text message to the recipient which doesn't count as a text message. So why the hell do you need a plan? Charge me $.20, not $5.00 per month. Blatant false advertising!!!!!
I'm trying to delete a large message thread on my iPhone 5s. It's been there for a few years without being cleaned. Every time I try to delete it, my phone gets really hot and my messages app doesn't work. When I restart my phone, the message thread I tried to delete is still there and the messages app works again.
in the text message conversation view, there's only a soft sound alert when new messages are received.even when the screen is off, you get no popup preview or a regular notification sound whatsoever.the only way to keep getting the regular notification & previews is to quit the app each time you send out a text.often times when you are in the middle of something and are unable to focus on the phone itself for the conversation, you forget to quit the message app, then you are totally not aware there have been messages coming in because it only gives you a soft sound alert that's totally unable to hear when you're outside walking, or other similar scenarios
It's been bugging me for years, it's specially annoying when the other person I chat with isn't aware of this issue and ocassionally misses out my messages.i mean,if apple insists that to avoid this problem, the users MUST remember to quit the conversation RIGHT AFTER EVERY SINGLE LINE, this is just absolutely unrealistic.I now do it every time because I'm aware of the issue, but not the other people I have conversations with.I've had too many situations where I had to wait for a long time to receive response only to find out that the other person wasn't aware the new text messages, because it was simply too soft to hear, and completely no other sort of things to notify you with.so i wonder if there really isn't a way to change the notification behavior, cuz apparently it's impossible that I make everybody I send text to change their habits just for this.
For 2 days now my phone just show the clock spinning for several minutes, maybe up to an hour, then a white screen pops up that says App Err, and click the middle button to reset and then if just goes back through the same process. The folks at AT&T said I might need a software update, so I downloaded the desktop software onto my computer and have tried to update my phone that way, but it just does the same thing, the clock just spins like it is thinking, and then it will just shut off.
when i go to receive or send a sms message i get this message uncaught exception java.lang.indexout of bounds exception. i cannot open messages or send them
This is not the same problem as the earlier post today from the guy getting this message in error. I have a car hook-up that uses the dock connector into my CD changer and it works just great. It was originally for an older iPod so it doesn't charge my iPhone 3Gs but I'm OK with that.
Every time I plug in however I get "This accessory is not made to work with iPhone". I know it's not made to work with iPhone, I understand what it's telling me and I'm happy with that - is there some way to permanently dismiss this message?
Isn't my message notification supposed to work when someone replies to a message I sent? It only makes the sound when I am off the message page where our conversation is going on.
