when trying to use camera, this message appears: 'could not start the camera close other applications and try opening the camera again'.However, no other application is open. I tried to reboot and the same message appears.
View 5 RepliesI got a blackberry torch 2 months ago at first it took pictures fine and it saved to the media folder. I do not have a memory card in the phone and there is no pictures on and only 9 songs so it cannot be the memory that is causing this problem.When I take a picture it shows at the bottom of the screen but it does not save to the phone as well as when I bluetooth music it downloads and shows download complete but when I check the music folder it does'nt appear.I have tried inserting a memory card but the items on the memory card does not appear on the phone.

Sometimes you can see them in the preview area but when you click on them you get a weird icon that looks like a wheel. Sometimes even in the preview area you cannot see the pic at all.Still on the official OS that came with the phone. Does anyone know what the problem is? I recently swapped out to a larger memory card but I had the problem on both cards.

It comes up with the message 'another application is using the camera at the moment' or words to that effect. Can't see anything that could be so I suspect the papperazzi are hiding out in my phone.

I stopped all applications and it still does not work, I also deleted all downloaded apps and it still does not work. I am running 7.1 Bundle 1737 (v7.1.0.580, Platform 5.1.0.429). I upgraded the OS same time back and the camera was working fine so I don't think that its the OS.

I've already ruled out:
-Water damage (has never been wet or near water whatsoever

My camera has randomly stopped working. When I press on the camera icon the picture doesn't come up and the camera button which you would normally press to take a picture isn't highlighted so its not an option to press.

I've tried taking the battery and sim card out, I've tried updating my phone (the guy at my location bell store told me to do, he's seen this a lot) but nothing is working. Shouldn't the pix automatically go to the card?
