after pressing the screen lock button on the upper edge of torch, the screen turns off for about 3-4 seconds and turns back on automatically.the keypad does not lock either with this lock button and the screen stays lit permanently, even though the backlight dim option is set to 20 seconds.
View 5 RepliesI can't get the screen to lock when I press the button on the top of the phone. When pressed, the screen goes off but then half a second later it lights up again and is unlocked. I have acquired a pattern lock to save pressing buttons when the phone is in my pocket but the screen remains lit up and is consequently draining the battery. There isn't any damage to that corner of the phone so I doubt the button is the problem.

Another frustration I'm having with my first smartphone, torch 9860 bought 1 week ago ....hen I'm talking on the phone, several undesirable things might occur, like I hang-up, or put on speaker phone, or put on hold, or unless the fingers are placed "just so" and my earring doesn't happen to bump the touch screen I can't seem to just have a conversation.Is it really necessary to hold this BB like a small pizza, that is, flat and carefully around the edges, and speak down into it with my chin on my chest?

The case was for a 9700 Bold and I tried at the ATT store with a pouch 'designed' for the Torch with the same results. The lock/unlock key is so sensitive that even in my pants pocket it will unlock.All of my old BB's would not unlock until I hit the 2 combo keys which was fine. At least the bold would stay locked in the pouch which was fine.

It does stay off if I insert it into a Blackberry belt holster, so as long as I leave it there, it's fine, but I want to take it out and not have the battery drain so quickly.
The only way I can ensure the screen is off when not in the holster is to power off, but I need my phone to be on 24/7 for business.
I just found that it's not just OS6.It's better on BOLD because pressing "end" button while in Standby mode will just wake the device.Is there Standby mode in OS6? on Torch? When you are composing email/txt msg, once you touch the "send" icon on touchscreen the msg will just be sent immediately. I hate this because I might hit it randomly. Is there any way to add a confirmation window there?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI've recently made the switch back to android from an iPhone after quite a few years and I'm trying to re-familiarize myself with android's operating system and work out what I need to change and using this phone I noticed the notifications lacking, so I set up DashClock and DashNotifier and so far I love it. It does exactly what I want it to do for all the apps I have set up with it except for the notifications coming through the 'Messages' app on the phone for text messages.
When receiving a text message my lock screen ignores that I've set up DashClock as my default lock screen and pulls up the original lock screen with the quite ugly 'New Message' notification (as seen in the attached picture). If I scroll to the right DashClock is open and showing the message notification just fine. I've tried to disable the lock screen notifications for the 'Messages' app but haven't been successful in removing it. Is there a way to just have the 'Messages' app give lock screen notifications on the top bar and none like in the image below, or is there a work around within DashClock/DashNotifier or some other application that would fix this? My phone is running Android 4.4.2.
I updated my phone to lollipop 5.0, it is in general good till now, but i have two problems:
1) no notifications are displayed on my lock screen even for missed calls or sms's .. there is no any icon or symbol that informs me if i have missed any call or received a message ; and i have to unlock my phone every time to check
in the Settings -> Sounds and Notifications -> i selected the option to show all the notifications.. but nothing changed
2) also on the lock screen , not widget for the walkman or the sound cloud to enable me to pause the players or to navigate to the next song
I have a blackberry torch 9800, num locks and cap locks were working fine by holding aA or 123 keys on virtual keboard earlier. But all of a sudden (I still wonder why?) its not working any more, and is very frustating to press 123 or aA kes each time you need capital letters or numbers.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI installed LockInfo a while ago. I got everything working fine, downloaded it and plugins fine. I got them all from the same repo as I was advised to do that, and everything seemed to be working fine. Everything was up to date etc.
I received an SMS, and instead of it appearing under the SMS on LockInfo, which it does, it appears as well by the annoying Apple notification box.
I still want my phone to light up when I received a text message and the text message to be displayed under the SMS tab in LockInfo, but how do I get rid of the Apple notification box? I saw when configuring the app there was some thing about quick replying to texts and there was a list to choose form. Would any of those get rid of the Apple alert?
So I have been searching & have even spent money on trying to find a dot lock for the apple iphone 4s and dont seem to find it , does apple have it ? why or why not ?

Under the instructions it tell you to:
Options > Advanced > Apps > scrool to the app > click menu > edit permissions > set all to allow > then reboot.
Well i have the torch and those instructions are not correct b/c there is no advanced tab under options and i can figure it out. Does patternlock work for the torch, if so, can some1 give me instructions.
Maybe I'm not doing it right, but I enable a password on my torch, use the lock button, and when I press the lock button again it unlocks it without asking for the password. Both my 9000 and my 9700 made me enter the password after I hit unlock.
View 10 Replies View Relatedmy screen froze on my 1020. None of the "screen" buttons would work but the physical side buttons would. I rebooted a couple of times (depressing the power and volume down). It worked once but then froze up again. Taking out the sim and putting it back in seems to reboot the phone, which works, sometimes, but freezes up again as soon as the screen lock is activated.

So as things are perfect and smiley in the world, the way to make your day complete is to drop your brand new samsung galaxy s2 from a pathetically small height and watch as the whole screen shatters to bits. View 1 Replies View RelatedI want to set up my 5800 to work in the car as a music/navigation/handsfree device. I created a Car profile with ring volumes and other stuff set up just the way I want it. However, I cannot make the screen not to timeout and turn off. Basically, the automatic screen lock is deactivated and shouldn't get into way. When I plug the aux cable into the phone I select the Music Stand accessory which is the only one that has a Screen control setting. It is set to On, from the default Automatic. However, the screen goes black anyway, but the buttons stay lit.
