My Mother may get a Business BlackBerry soon from the Supreme Council of Health here in Qatar, for sure It would be set uped over BES ( I think yes ), We usually spend our holiday at Egypt in Summer, so using The Supreme Council of Health line would incurr high Roaming charges in Egypt, and I don't think they will accept paying such a great bill lol specially that she is going on a holiday not a business trip. So, Can she get a Local SIM there and activate BIS over it, or she won't be able because the BlackBerry PIN is linked to a BES account on another Line/Network-Provider/Country.
I have already installed the new Desktop Manager 6.0 that I downloaded from the RIM site.
I am thinking the safest way to not have a problem is the just restore my 9800 data from a back up rather than do the Switch Device thing. Anyone worried it might bring erroneous crap into the new 6.0 OS.
Maybe it would be better to redo my settings after the data install to make sure all is clean and working correctly. Some of the 5.0 setting would not be applicable to the new 6.0 software.
I just got the new 9900... I was trying to move my bbm contacts from one device to the other but have now moved everything from my old phone to the new... I was wondering if there was a way to reset the 9900 to factory settings with out wiping the device. I just don't like what happened to the icon (all my email icons have gone missing)
After a short time on an Android device (which I quickly got rid of) I am now back on a BlackBerry. I used to have a Bold, now I have a Torch. Now the problem is the following: on the Bold I had one BES email (I am the IT Manager of my company) and three BIS accounts (private mails).I moved the BES account on the Torch, no problem, but the three BIS accounts do not move for some reason.
I go to Setup=>Email accounts and the device reports correctly that "A new BlackBerry device has been detected. you mustmove email account(s) to resume email delivery to your BlackBerry device. Email delivery to your old device has been stopped."Following the list of three email accounts I want on the Torch.
I click "Move" and for any single email I have a screen that says "Device change successful. Validate your email account"I type email password for each account, click "continue", receive the message "Your password has been successfully validated.", click OK and exit setup and nothing happens.I still have the BES account but there is no trace of the three BIS accounts.I go back to Setup and the procedure starts again from the beginning.I am on Vodafone UK and the three email accounts are on Apple MobileMe (@me.com)
My father has an S5, on Verizon, running 5.0 I believe, bootloader is locked and it has not been rooted. Her problem is that she can't move her pictures from device storage to her as card. I rebooted the phone, restarted it, pulled the battery and tried an SD card that I knew was good, and also an external USB drive, nothing worked.
i cannot copy or move any files from sd card to device. i am getting permission warning when i attempt to copy. i have enough free space in device so what can cause this. an how to fix.
9550 arrives today. I found 2 pics that I need that were somehow saved to the device memory. Before I take my 9630 out of service . . . How can I move those two pics back to the card?
If I click on show all pics I see them but I can't get them to the card no matter what I try. Move says "up" and that's it. I see memory card but can't reach it.
How can I move icons to the main screen on Bold 9900 device so when I turn on the device the icons appear. Currently, I have to touch arrow at bottom middle of screen and swipe up to have the icons appear.
[URL]..If I understand it correctly this will allow iOS and android devices to hook up to the BES (maybe BIS in the future?). RIM makes money and people get more variety in their phone choice. Win win (assuming its adopted by corporations)
Edit:*sigh* just realized I wrote multiplayform instead of multiplatform
A configuration snafu sent pictures to a folder in Device Memory. (Device Memory/Home/User/Pictures) All my previous pictures went to memory card. (Media Card/Blackberry/pictures) I am not able to move the pictures from the Device Memory folder to either the memory Card or to my PC. Normal "Move" and PC downbload procudes don't work (I can't get to the Device Memory folders via my PC, and the Blackberry won't let me move from the Device memory to the Media Card.) These pictures will be lost if I can't move them. I don't want to email them. How do I move the pictures in Device Memory/Home/User/Pictures to either the Media Card or to my PC.
Recently switched out a blackberry torch for another blackberry torch. So I did the set up but my email won't set up. I touch "Email Set-Up" and it states a new device has been detected. Move your email accounts to receive email on my new device. I'll need to type in my password and at least one account needs to be moved. Then I touch "Move Email Accounts" type in my password and touch continue, it states my password has been successfully validated, but I still cannot receive or send emails. I did a battery pull, sent my service books, and register my phone! I don't have a back up of my account.
My daughter has bought today a new Torch 9810. She has entered a new device password. After a few hours she tried to enter her password, but she forgot her password.
After a read of some internet groups, the solution is simple, just type 10 times your password and the BB will restart. I know that all data will be removed, but that is no issue.
Unfortunately the BB will not restart after I retype for then times the wrong password After the reset it starting with a White screen, with a sort of document icon. Within this document icon, appear a lock and cross sign, beneath this icon there is a counter with is repeatedly showing from 0 till 100% and then start over again.
I've tried to disconnect the battery for at least 1 minute, Put in a different sim card, let it run for almost one hour, but nothing seems to work.
whenever I download an app the icon will not move. I've held down the track pad (torch 9810) & nothing pops up. I've hit the menu button & nothing will come up, dida battery pull, deleted and reintalled apps, so can not move my apps into the folders I want them in...well I can't move them at all.
here what i have:Torch ATT with BESExchange 2007Outlook 2010My issue, when i received emails everything goes perfect, i read on my bb and outlook mark it as read, when i move any email to another subfolder on my outlook ost file (same mailbox) the bb automatically refresh that change so you can see that email in subfolder on bb, but when i tried to move an email to another file pst file bb never detects that change and keeps that email in inbox.
I have a torch 9860 running os 7.0, and am looking to rearrange the on-screen icons. I can move the factory installed icons like the BBapp world icon, but icons for apps I have downloaded cannot be moved. When I select the icon of the 3rd party app i want to move, and press/hold the BB button, no menu with a "move" option appears.
I was told I would be able t bring pictures from my old device, but when I did the switch device on Desktop Manager, everything EXCEPT my pictures came over to the new device?
Everything was okay, i downloaded the desktop software which gave me instructions but then when it came time to rebooting my phone....>like you know doing the whole battery pull out process<..... i saw that although the upgrade seem to have been successful there is no movement on the screen because the Color ID App is requesting permission orwhatever.....idk........... the message takes over almost the whole screen and says : Application Permissionsthe application Color ID has requested a http connection to rest.motekmobile.com.*box* Do not ask for http*box* Do not ask for http torest.motekmobile.comI still see the theme that i had before on the screen and it moves, so the screen didn't freeze, all nubs on the phone work but when i try to move the trackpad over to the deny button it doesn't move AT ALL!
On other BB's I've moved pictures from the device to the media card using the "move" function - I can't find this on the Torch. Am I overlooking something or will I have to use Desktop Manager?
I tried to move pictures from the "picture library" folder into one that I created, (I had to copy and paste them) then once they were in the new folder I noticed that there was doubles of the pictures I tried to move, so I deleted them from the picture library and they also deleted out of the new folder, is there any way that I can move them from picture library to a new folder without losing them?
Since my old email had been hacked and blocked, so I have created new email and also it has been verify in blackberry device. But, all my old contact lists are all listed as my new email's entries. So, I want to know is there any possibility to move all of my contact list to be my new email's entries??
My last phone was the pearl and it was slowly dying. A girlfriend of mine had a very new ish torch she no longer used. I have switched all the data and third party applications to the torch using the desktop manager however I can't get the app world or my e-mail working. When I log in to the App world via the computer it doesn't show the Torch as a possible device. It still has the pearl and the playbook. I need help as I believe that it thinks the torch is still the pearl and wont let me activate my e-mails or get the app world. Do I need to get rid of the Pearl on the desktop manager?
How do I change the BB ID associated with a particular device? I have recently been given a new BB Torch 9860 by my employers so I now have 2 BBs. However, during setup I associated the new phone with my BB ID that is still in use on the other phone but it doesn't look like I can run both devices with the same ID - so so how do I remove the ID from the new one?
I will be keeping both phones so I guess I will need seperate IDs for both?
When I connect my smartphone to my desktop computer via the USB cable, the computer fails to recognize the device. I have attempted reinstalling Blackberry Desktop Software multiple times. My desktop is a windows pc that is running Vista. I am currently running version 6.1.0.35 of Blackberry Desktop Software.
I bought a used 9800 and wanted it unlocked for my network but at the shop they said ten attempts had been made to unlock at some point so the phone is locked to another network so i cant use it.Is there a fix for this.
I recently dropped my phone in water, and as a result it wouldn't work (obviously!). I took it to get fixed, and the entire back was replaced. This resulted in me getting a new bbm pin etc. I was told that this would work fine, and that I would still be able to use bbm and my wireless internet (such as bbm, twitter, facebook etc) When I called o2 to have my blackberry services reactivated, they told me that "the device cannot be recognized" Now I'm wondering what else I can do. Is there anything I or o2 can do to fix this problem? Or perhaps the shop that fixed my phone?
I was so excited to have a Blackberry device and my choice was the Torch 9810 mainly for 3 reasons.
1- The big screen. 2- The touch screen with the sliding keyboard. 3- Latest OS.
As I watched and read so many reviews about it and compared it to the Bold 9900 and the Torch 9860. The reviews for the Torch 9860 were somehow negative, and the sliding keyboard was a win over the Torch 9860. Bold seemed to be a good phone but the bigger screen was again what made me go for the Torch 9810.
For a new Blackberry user like me, I couldn't really figure out much differences between the three phones.
Unfortunately the Torch 9810 is not yet here in Egyptian market and I was about to buy a Bold 9900 till I noticed it would be locked to my carrier and then I changed my mind. I asked a family member to buy the Torch 9810 for me from the UAE and I finally got it one week ago.
