Galaxy S5 :: Can't Move Pictures From Device Storage
Jun 14, 2015
My father has an S5, on Verizon, running 5.0 I believe, bootloader is locked and it has not been rooted. Her problem is that she can't move her pictures from device storage to her as card. I rebooted the phone, restarted it, pulled the battery and tried an SD card that I knew was good, and also an external USB drive, nothing worked.
"Unable to move app. Not enough storage space." Galaxy S5 w/ 5.0 on Verizon.I'm sure there are 1000 threads on this somewhere but I'm not finding them specific to my phone. I've just done factory reset, formatted the external 32 gig SD card, re-installed just a couple apps and STILL get the same error message. The phone storage has over 9 gigs available and the external card is empty.
Is there a way to move installed apps to the internal 12gb of storage? If I go to manage the app and click "move to sd card" I get an error saying there isn't enough space. I don't have an external sd card in the phone, so this may be why. The problem is I don't want the apps going to an external card, I want to use up the internal storage.
On my nexus s, the button said "move to usb" instead of "move to sd"...
don't say things like, 'why do you need more than 2gb for apps' or 'buy an sd card'.
A configuration snafu sent pictures to a folder in Device Memory. (Device Memory/Home/User/Pictures) All my previous pictures went to memory card. (Media Card/Blackberry/pictures) I am not able to move the pictures from the Device Memory folder to either the memory Card or to my PC. Normal "Move" and PC downbload procudes don't work (I can't get to the Device Memory folders via my PC, and the Blackberry won't let me move from the Device memory to the Media Card.) These pictures will be lost if I can't move them. I don't want to email them. How do I move the pictures in Device Memory/Home/User/Pictures to either the Media Card or to my PC.
I have a Pearl and recently installed Desktop Manager 6.0. I do not have any media card installed on the device. When I start up Desktop Manager and try to access the pictures or other files stored on the permanent internal memory, Desktop Manager complains I have no card installed. In the previous versions, you had the choice of accessing either the internal memory or the media card, but I see no option for that in version 6.0.
I notice a new type of storage is introduced called USB Storage. I expect this is the equivalent of the internal SD card of the old SGS. Now when I click on the "Move to SD" button on any of the apps, I get the message "Failed to move application: Not enough memory"
My USB storage currently has 11.42GB. So can onyone shed light as to where I am going wrong here?
And what is the logic of Samsung changing internal SD storage into USB Storage?
I have a Samsung Galaxy s5, and today I decided to clean some of my files from the "My Files" application. Usually when I clean out the files, everything will be all fine and dandy, but recently (which means, 30 minutes ago), I tapped the "Device Storage." and I did something, and It processed and everything seemed to be fine, because usually when I clean something out , for instance"videos", "Audio." or "Documents.", my photos and such are still there. But when I came back from a quick errand, I went into gallery to see that ALL my photo albums were completely gone. they had vanished, and to where I have no clue. I do not have an sd card, but I do have micro SD Sim installed into my galaxy s5, and I know for a fact that everything in your phone is there for eternity whether or not you deleted it, so right now how to gain back ALL of my five albums filled with photos. I had some beautiful photos that I would hate to lose.
The problem with the SGS II is that there's no connect to PC setting. The other problem is that to connect to as a mass storage device, you have to manually do this every time - In my car, the phone repeatedly beeps at me until I enter the USB connect screen, which is very annoying.
I imported all my pictures from my iPhone- I'm now wanting to move the pictures to different albums - then erase the main album that was imported without erasing all the pictures.
I bought a Samsung Galaxy s5 and then I was walking and using it and slipped and it fell out of my hand and the LCD screen cracked, The glass did not and the phone works i can see the LED light and feel the vibrations when I turn it on. I also had external memory that I have already retrieved from the device but i want to get the pictures that are on the Internal memory off. But when i plug the phone up to my computer using the USB cord there is not an option where i can find the pictures.
Any application with Large APK files throw this error.. Smaller APKs are fine, and continue to allow me to move them after throwing this error..
Anything over 80-90MB usually failes with this error..
The External SD Card has 21GB Storage available.. formatted FAT32..
App will transfer fine via Sony's 'Transfer Data to SD Card', but sadly it Transfers 'all moveable Apps' rather than giving you the ability to choose specific apps.. So that method is a huge ball ache!!! Oh and can you give us the option to remove the 'you have 25% of storage left' nag.. its a proper pain in the backside, given there is usually at this point plenty of storage left...
I have quite a few Humble Bundle APK's, that are quite big, and are unable to be moved to external because of this issue.. For the record it also does this for Play Store APK's.. I will give JetPack Joyride/ Minion rush as an example...
This issue was not a problem With my Galaxy S5...
Yes I know on Lollipop I am aware both the APK and Lib files are only moved to the External SD Card as part of the Apps2Sd feature
My brother recently broke my Galaxy S6 Edge; he threw it on the floor but it looks as if someone ran it over. Both the back and the front screen are shattered and it wont turn on. I do have insurance and am being sent a new phone, although I was wondering if there was any way that I could retrieve pictures from my broken phone being that there are no memory cards for the edge. I have not recently backed up my pictures onto Google.
I store all my messages on memory card but yesterday suddenly the memory option switched back to phone.I couldn't see my memory card messages on pc suite as I couldn't switch back to memory card option.
I can see pictures and songs stored on memory card. Can even add new but the only problem is I can't swtich back to memory card as far as messages are concerned.
Whether I press yes or no in the option it only gives me the error saying ' Unable to move message storage'.
I don't mind losing messages, but I would like to store the ones from now on on memory card. And if you say it is corrupt, how many maximum number of messages can be stored on phone memory?
I have a factory unlocked version of an HTC One M8 on AT&T running 4.4.3. I noticed a week ago I was having issues with Pocketcasts freezing. It stored its files on the SD card so I moved them to the phone storage. It seems to be working fine now. This week I have been taking pictures with my HTC M8 and the gallery freezes and the picture will turn blank with a triangle in it. The camera stores pictures on the SD card also. If I touch the picture the phone locks up.
I was trying to make more storage room on my Galaxy S5 & I deleted EVERY folder in the device history. I really don't care about anything but my pictures...they are all gone! can I somehow recover all my pictures!!! I am new to Android devices & now I can't quit crying....
Can someone tell me how to move data from the internal phone storage to the SD card? Wife's Charm gets a notification that internal phone storage is low (13MB or so). Any way to move some things to the SD card?
Don't know if I'll explain this perfectly in all the correct technical language but I just got a replacement refurbished BB Tour 9630 and now my PC doesn't recognize it when it is plugged in, at least it won't let me view the folder structure like I used to be able to with my original phone; so basically when I plug my phone into my PC and try to upload photos to flickr I'm unable to, even after launching the Media Manager. I can't remember if I had this problem before with the original one and did something to get it to work or if it just automatically worked.
