I sent my Torch 9810 in to Rogers for repair (phone was overheating). Today they sent me a new replacement, because they couldn't fix the old one....but now the new one can't send or receive calls. I keep getting the error message "Call Failed due to Fading". Is this a network or a hardware problem? Rogers said it was the network and tech support said it could be the hardward..
View 4 RepliesHaving issues with call quality on the 1020? I picked mine up yesterday. When I call some people they say I am coming in crystal clear, others say I am fading in and out. On my end, I get a weird feedback/static at end of people's words/sentences and it seems to be picking up background noise over the person's words. Very frustrating because there is NOTHING else wrong with this phone.
View 12 Replies View RelatedJust wondering if your bold drops calls as frequently as mine does. it seems that sometimes the phone decides to act up and gives me a 'call failed' message whenever i try to make a phone call. I always check how many bars i have and its usually at 4 or 5. sometimes a battery pull fixes this, but other times, the problem is persistent. my old bold 9000 had the same problem, so i'm not sure if it's at&t or blackberries in general.

I really tried everything. I have to be very fast in seeing if i put in the correct number to call otherwise it's canceling the call or wait to see if it was the correct number.

After a short time on an Android device (which I quickly got rid of) I am now back on a BlackBerry. I used to have a Bold, now I have a Torch.Now the problem is the following: on the Bold I had one BES email (I am the IT Manager of my company) and three BIS accounts (private mails).I moved the BES account on the Torch, no problem, but the three BIS accounts do not move for some reason.
I go to Setup=>Email accounts and the device reports correctly that "A new BlackBerry device has been detected. you mustmove email account(s) to resume email delivery to your BlackBerry device. Email delivery to your old device has been stopped."Following the list of three email accounts I want on the Torch.
I click "Move" and for any single email I have a screen that says "Device change successful. Validate your email account"I type email password for each account, click "continue", receive the message "Your password has been successfully validated.", click OK and exit setup and nothing happens.I still have the BES account but there is no trace of the three BIS accounts.I go back to Setup and the procedure starts again from the beginning.I am on Vodafone UK and the three email accounts are on Apple MobileMe (@me.com)
The blackberry 8520 bough before 6 months have developed screen fading while I took out from my pocket, The warrnty company says it is DAMAGED, Lord ! View 5 Replies View RelatedI recent bought a unlocked iphone 5c 8gb two days ago the phone was acting fine for a day. thin after that day around 6 the next day the phone had lines pop up on the screen and turned its self of. so im thinking its normal when the phone crashes and turn off i mean all iphone does this. but it was wearied seeing the lines pop up. after that i had turn the phone back on to update it to ios 8.1.1. soon as i did that it got worst. then phone would heat up and shut off with the lines on . you couldn't even have the phone on for a 1 before it did that.
So it had shut off again and when i turned it back on i t went straight to recovery mode. and i got out of that by holding the home button and power for ten seconds. thin i went to youtube to do some research and they said to do recovery mode or dfu mode. i did it once and it work for a while thin did the same stuff all over again. so i did it multiple times like 9 times recovery mode/ dfu mode. so now the apple logo blinks and fade a way constantly. and everytime i try to put it in dfu mode or recovery mode it wont even go on there it will just blink and fade away. do i need to get a new battery.

Can the panel be changed under warranty? I guess the fading is to be a manufacturing defect, as another extensively used 8 months old C7-00 of ours still look new. After using various Nokia phones for the past 11 years, for the first time I see a problem/defect in a Nokia phone.

I try turning on/off facetime in settings but all I get is "Activation unsuccessful. Turn on facetime to try again."
I dont know what the prob is, I didnt install or change anything since a few days ago that facetime calls worked.
Im JB on 4.0.1 and also got Facebreak installed.
I been fighting with it for 3 hours now. Removed facebreak, reset network settings over 50 times, restarted, toggled airplane mode, facetime on/off and still nothing.
Anyone got any suggestions or what is causing this to happen and how to activate facetime without a restore.
I already had to do a restore and setup as new 3 times since I got it and its starting to get old.
I was recently given a Blackberry Curve by a friend as a gift.It was locked to orange, but I went to a local shop and got it unlocked so that I could use my Vodafone simcard in it.There is full signal bars and GPRS is displayed in the top right corner. Every time I dial out I get the message displayed 'Call Failed', and if someone tries to ring me they are sent straight to voicemail. All the solutions I've tried haven't worked and when I check the 'Mobile Voice' it says 'Not Connected' and 'Unavailable'. There is no red cross in the corner to indicate that it is barred either. Brought this phone at the end of November and within a week I started to experience the contact's screen fading problem's, phone turn's itself off, etc, etc. Today I have got a new fault and I have contacted Nokia and they told me to carry out three different thing's, but this didn't help and suggested I take it to a repair centre.I stumbled on this discussion page and thought I would post my problem to see if anyone could help me :-Every time I go to answer a call or make a call, my phone just turn's itself off, can anyone help ?Just wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this one and if so, what can I do.I have removed the battery, sim card and checked for an updated, nothing helped.
View 6 Replies View RelatedWithin the past 6 days, I've purchased 2 brand new Nokia E71 phones from 2 different Walmart stores, 30 mins of each other. These are phones for the Straight Talk prepaid service. I have not yet activated the phones on ST, as my goal is to first test the basic functionality to determine if it's worth the $200 and will satisfy my needs.
What's happening on both phones, in the same exact manner and location on the phone, is that the menu title name for some menus have fading text. It appears as though there's a display issue. I've attached some screenshots to make it easy to see what I'm experiencing.
However, when I've tested playing the included videos in the phone at full screen, it appears to play the videos through the menu title name area with no fading. The same goes for looking at images - I do not see any fading with the included images in that area.
I have done a Soft Reset on both phones using the *# option and from the "Factory Reset" option in the menu. This has not resolved it on either phone. I have also changed themes, changed menu colors, changed the font size, none of which has resolved this.
Thus far, I've returned one phone to Walmart and ready to return the next one now due to this issue. I'm willing to try a 3rd but that's where my limit is. I really like this phone and want it, but if this issue is indicative of a fully dead or fading display after a short period of use, I will not make the investment.
I woke up this morning to find the screen on my Z2 to be very off colour with hundreds of horizontal lines consistently moving down the screen. I haven't damaged my phone in any way recently, why this is occuring.

I would put it down to a hardware defect, however when my phone locks itself and I go the unlock it, or if I leave it for a few minutes, the screen will be fine for a few seconds or so, until it gradually fades to a white, then pinkish colour with vertical lines, and then blueish white horizontal lines will begin to move down the phone until it becomes quite impossible to actually use it. I've also just noticed that the lines get much worse when I'm actually using my phone rather than just staring at it idly, so it must be touch triggered or something?

I've had this phone since around December after it replaced a lost one, and haven't had any issues so far. I would take it to the phone shop to get it repaired, but I know that will leave me without a phone for 1 - 2 weeks, which just isn't an option. I'd just like to know what the exact issue is before forking out £50 for a new screen.
anybody ever encounter this annoying issue with ios4 when you keep getting 'call failed' constantly until you either reboot, turn 3g off, turn on and off airplane mode? i am able to receive calls when this happens but its annoying that i have reset everytime when it happens. i notice it happens about the same time after i get off work when i get home. i know i can send and receive text.

I got my 9700 abt 6wks ago, everything was working fine, Then abt 2 weeks ago I started getting "Call Failed" when trying to make calls. Now I get it 90% of the time, and after investigating I can not receive incoming calls either.I have contacted Orange who say it might be a network / location issue, but not sure and have not had any other complaints? However I have not moved and I get this all the time in my house, where as 6weeks ago it was fine. I have also down loaded and installed what I think is the latest firmware update available for the 9700 from Jordan v5.0.0.442., still no fix so reverted back to v5.0.0.351.I think it might be that I have a weak 3G signal where I live, but switching over to UMA and connecting in my house through this still does not fix it? Is there a known bug that the 9700 gets confused/freezes when trying to switch in and out of 3G/2G/UMA coverage? From Googling Call Failed BB 9700 etc it seems that there are a few others out there with the same issue??? Any help how to fix/what firmware works etc It is driving me crazy because I do not recieve calls, sms etc either!

My network provider already replaced the first bold 9900 with the same problem but now that it is happening to the new phone, I think something else is causing the problem.

Tried SIM card in another phone in the same spot and it works. The pearl does get full signal and EDGE. Could this be a hardware problem? The antenna, maybe?

I had the phone on pre-paid BIS + Airtime so I could have access to the internet, bb messenger, gmail email, and phone-related uses. The phone worked fine with no issues whatsoever. Last week, I tried calling someone and received the message - Call Failed. I thought it was credit so I tried loading airtime on the phone. When I did that I received the following message: Supplementary Service Error: General Error.
It's been 1.5 weeks and still the phone does not work: The phone has perfect coverage indicator. The phone has working BIS, BB messenger and internet. The phone cannot work the telephony part of it - calls (outgoing/incoming, SMS, MMS). I cannot call anyone, cannot check Voicemail, cannot load airtime. I have tried re-sending service books, hard reset pulling the battery out, manually registering with the wireless network.
