I have a Torch 9800, it said I needed to update my blackberry id. When I did this my phone started to freeze and won't restart. If I pull the battery and leave it for a few hours it would eventually restart and work for a day or two. I did a wipe and re-install and still having problems. Now I can't access app world or emails and some of my settings. Yesterday it froze and still hasn't restarted.
Every single time I reboot the Torch all my Favorites go missing. So I go to the apps that I have made Favorite and each one says "Unmark as Favorite". So they are all still Favorites but none will show up in the Favorites tab/folder/thing.It's very annoying. I thought maybe it was a bug in .141, so I upgraded to .161 and it STILL HAPPENS.
I bought this Torch almost 2 years ago (first model)... Since 2010, there is no critical problem occurred till now, but today my Torch can't be use of these problem. Let me explain the details.
1. I installed Munched (screen capture program), after installed i launced this apps and my bb automatically restarted. 2. Then, after restarted, the bb can be used as usuall and i didnt launch screen muncher apps after (Case 1). 3. Last night, my bb runs properly and there is no problem at all... 4. This Morning, i think to remove the apps (muncher) because i didnt use anymore. Then, i deleted this application using normal procedures. And, as we known, bb must be restart after uninstalling any apps, then i restart. 5. During restarting (loading bar) is stopped at 3/4 bar load.... So, i remove the battery to restart again... 6. After restart, my bb seems ok till it loads menus and other. But it was only for 15 seconds. After 15 seconds, a icon (loading star * like sunflower) appeared. 7. My bb stuck and i can''t use any button / touch screen function. My screen display also won't shut off their light. 8. I've tried to restart almost 6 time (remove battery), but it still same.I can use the menu for 15secs, then it becomes unresponsive.
My girlfriend just got the BlackBerry Torch 9800. She updated the twitter app wich is on the phone. It restarted and now it just shows "App Error 603". When I try to Reset It just goes back to same page with the same error. I already tried force detect with the application loader no success.
As an avid business crackberry fan (and business manager) for over 3 years, I was appalled to find that I would need to slide the keyboard out to enter my security code, especially when I would do it 50-100 times per day. As every other touchscreen phone on the market has a pattern unlock method, this is the single issue preventing from purchasing this phone(s) PLEASE ISSUE AN UPDATE/APP/PATCH anything to bring this vital security & efficiency issue up to par.
I have already installed the new Desktop Manager 6.0 that I downloaded from the RIM site.
I am thinking the safest way to not have a problem is the just restore my 9800 data from a back up rather than do the Switch Device thing. Anyone worried it might bring erroneous crap into the new 6.0 OS.
Maybe it would be better to redo my settings after the data install to make sure all is clean and working correctly. Some of the 5.0 setting would not be applicable to the new 6.0 software.
i had a blackberry torch 9800 which i backed up to the blackberry desktop then it was sent away for a repair and they replaced it with anew 9800 i have tried to recover everything from the desktop but it says i need the old blackberry first?
My phone restarted itself but got suck just over half way after taking the battery out 4 times i has finally started but half my icons are missing and the ones that are there are miniture and disappear, i cant go into anything . the background has changed everything has changed its all out of place.
I bought the same BB 9860.when I got it before three weeks, it was working fine till the 3rd day of using it. After that, it started to crash and crash over and over with doing automatic restart. I took it to the warranty company which is Axiom in the UAE, well they format it and the same problem still there. Then I returned back to them, so they finally replaced it with NEW one with new PIN code, but guess what... The same problem happened AGAIN !! just by today, it crashed six times !! and yesterday it freeze up completely, so I had to pull out the battery.
Some of my friends told me that the memory card (4GB) might bethe problem, so I bought new one with 8 GB space but still suffering. This is an evidence that the software itself is NOT WORKING as it should be.What kind of mobile phone that will fail you down more than five times in a day ?It's expensive, It's new, I paid money for it, so why I can't get benefit of my spending?
after the latest os update, system locked-up while starting a Internet video. used the power off app to restart the hung system. now the power off app no longer appears. is this app only restored with an os update or can it be restored separately?
One morning my torch 9860 didnt start and ended up in an infinite restart loop, the LED turns red for 6 seconds then is goes out, and then again red LED then goes out. Screen is always black. I've tried with JL_cmder and BBSAK but it wont recognize the device. I tried to catch it with AppLoader, and I can do the UNKNOWN PIN thing, but then when the JVM is starting to initialize again it will go into an infinite loop again.
Out of the blue my blackberry has a App Error 200, reset, I took the battery out and the sim card, waited 30 minutes, then put back in, still have error. I cannot use the phone in any way.
On other BB's I've moved pictures from the device to the media card using the "move" function - I can't find this on the Torch. Am I overlooking something or will I have to use Desktop Manager?
does anyone no how to transfer all my contact from my Tour which is cdma with no sim card to my new Torch with sim card. i cant do it using blackberry desktop software.
I'm not sure how to connect my school email to my blackberry Torch. My school e-mail is weird because when I go inside everything looks exactly like gmail but it isn't exactly gmail beacuse you can't sign on from www.gmail.com. Gotta go through the school website. It does provide instructions on how to link to the Blackberry but it doens't work for the Torch because the option doesn't exist. (Instructions)To set up the BlackBerry's email client with Google Apps email (IMAP), just follow these steps: On your BlackBerry device, navigate to your home screenSelect the icon that lets you set up email (this can be called Setup, Setup Wizard, Email Setup, BlackBerry Set-up, E-mail settings, or Personal Email Set-up)Follow the setup instructions provided on your device to create a new e-mail accountBe sure to enter the following:Mail Server: imap.gmail.comUsername: [your full Google Apps email address]Password: [your Google Apps password]IMAP Port: 993Allow the system to add your account, but do not enter your Google Apps password into the utility boxes (this causes the system to default to POP3 instead of IMAP)Select NextSelect Next again (bypassing the 'Additional Information Required' section)Select your account type, then select Next. You may encounter a 'We were unable to configure...' error. Select I will provide the settings to continueSelect the option that mentions 'IMAP/POP'Select I will provide the settings..., then select NextSelect Set up existing email account...Enter your Google Apps account information here, with 'imap.gmail.com' as your mail serverSelect NextSelect Save
So I have a few pics I took with the Torch and I have some wallpapers that I added to the device. Sometimes you can see them in the preview area but when you click on them you get a weird icon that looks like a wheel. Sometimes even in the preview area you cannot see the pic at all.Still on the official OS that came with the phone. Does anyone know what the problem is? I recently swapped out to a larger memory card but I had the problem on both cards.
I assume since I can't find it, there's no way to turn the feature OFF? I find it highly annoying to make noises when there's really no shutter action. I searched and couldn't find anything on the topic.
1. images are not automatically appearing (need to click get images) 2. the HTML emails are appearing too wide. I have to scroll to the right to see the other half of the email.
As you already know, the ring volume on the Torch 9800 is extremely low. So I tried to email custom mp3 ringtones to my phone to use instead. In attempting to do so, I received a message saying "More request cannot be completed. Service book information not found." I also received this message when trying to email a photo to my blackberry. This never use to happen in past blackberries I have owned.
How do I fix this "service book information not found" issue ?
I have bought a Torch, but cannot get it to set up in the Organizer configuration to sync with my Calendar in MS Office XP- Outlook. My computer runs Windows XP. The contacts and memo will configure (although) they are posting to an archive folder and when I try to change that I get Error 0x80043bea), but the Calendar and Tasks will go through the set-up process, but when you finish it, the checkmark on those 2 Outlook folder disappears before you can even select the advance settings.I have re-set the configuration on the Desktop software a couple of times, to no avail, and uninstalled the Desktop 6.0 software and reinstalled it. None of these measures have changed the problem.Any suggestions?
I recently purchased a Blackberry Sync Pod and for some reason the phone will not charge while on the dock. The phone wil enter bedside mode and i get a message stating that the phone will not charge. I am able to charge the phone without the dock using the exact same cable. The retailer isnt willing to assist in this matter as they say it is something I need to take up with the manufacture.whats wrong or how to make the phone charge?
I have a 9810 blackberry torch. After I restart my blackberry, it can't finish its booting process.. It always stop in around 75 or 80 % of the booting bar.
Any theme but the AT&T theme would do... I would prefer the Blackberry default theme. Any theme but the AT&T theme! And how about a blank background? Any background but the AT&T logo.Do you see a pattern here? I really do not appreciate a $600 purchase that is little more than an advertisement for AT&T.
I am looking for a thread or would like to create one that will instruct a newbie on how to clean up (or hide) those apps I don't want or use, on the main screen. Also would like to know recommendations as to best apps to have, that don't suck memory. (Maybe an app to free up wasted space?)
