i'm currently using bb storm 9530 and got desktop manager installed in my laptop (running vista) as well as my desktop computer (windows xp), i find it strange that both my computers can't communicate with my bb despite setting off my firewall and anti-virus (norton 360). how can i resolve this problem cause i can't run any updates on my bb through usb port?

I have looked everywhere and i cant seem to find any drivers. the blackberry website seems to say that they are on windows update and I can find them but i don't know how to extract them. Basically, i have a custom built pc and windows 7. All usb ports have been tested with other devices. I tried the desktop manager 5.0 and 4.7 and that doesn't recognize my BB. Windows says that i have connected an unknown device.
I tried rebooting the device and pc and removing the battery from the device. All to no avail.
Someone please tell me where to find it, give me steps to get it working, or where to find a self extracting driver. Also I downloaded the RIM blackberry smartphone driver from the windows update site and it still says it didn't install correctly
I am trying to connect my phone to my computer. First, when I first plugin my USB to my computer it was installing then it was installed successfully. But, it didn't pop-out anything. There's no anything showing up. All my phone do is charging and that's it. The mass storage was on. I installed the desktop manager on blackberry.com but still not doing anything. Now, I uninstalled it because it's not doing anything.

So we decided to delete each other and add each other again. That did not work because whenever I send her invites, she never gets them . I opened the handy dandy DM and clicked on the media sync, but I would be damned if I could not figure any way to import specific albums. I can sync all (I have way too much to do that) or recently changed. But how the hizzy do I import only specific albums? Do I simply open the music sync folder on the memory card on my computer desktop and drag them over? If this is the case, why is the BB music sync program so lame?

I can access the phone but contacts do not come up in BROWSE feature of Backup assist. Also it can't seem to pull them in thru a BB Manager recent back up.
Screen is cracked and I can't call *228 to (re)activate the phone to do Back up Assist thru the phone the normal way.
I've been trying to put music on a stom for a while now and everytime I connect to computer it wont recognize my device. Mass storage mode is on. I have 5.0 os on it. It didnt work before I update the OS. So I have no clue what the problem is.

Re-inviting problem contact via email or PIN does not work - invitation never received. Also tried being invited by other BB contact, I never receive the invite. Have tried the trouble shooting described (deleted pending invites, battery reboot, reinvite) to no avail. I need a simple way to transfer all of them to my computer, since obviously emailing them one at a time or moving them one at a time is not practical.When I go to Options > Memory, all options are set to On (Media Card Support, Media Transfer Protocol, and Mass Storage Mode Support).When I go to Media > Pictures > All Pictures, I see all my photos. When I go to Picture Folders, it says Device Memory.
While connected to my PC via USB, I try to pull it up in Windows Explorer. I see options for MTP Device - Device Memory and MTP Device - Media Card. There are only empty folders under Device Memory. Media Card has nothing under Data, and only my music files under Media. Similar behavior when I pull it up under Windows Media Player.
The problem I am facing is that I added my dad at BBM (he is in malaysia i'm in the UK), we can see each other's contact at bbm, but we can't communicate. I can receive his voice notes and everything. I can send him a message too, BUT with a tick next to my messages but without R or D, he claims that he didnt receive any of them.
I tried battery pull, deleting and adding contact (took a while as it takes time for the friend request to be accepted/ add to friend list) and ... googling and i ran out of ideas.
Is it a problem with my blackberry 9700 white or my dad's? or his carrier?
My Torch 9800 has syced with the desktop and laptop with no problems since I got it in late 2010.A fe days ago the above message appeared and neither desktop nor laptop will synce. As far as I can see all software is up to date.

I recently upgraded to a Bold 9650 with Sprint.I have BES for work, but am using the Internet Browser and can access the internet just fine.I am also able to use Google Maps just fine.When I try to use Blackberry Maps, I just get grey lines (no data downloaded). My GPS appears to work fine, as the app can find satellites and my location it just does not download/draw the maps.When I try a search for either a zip code or a city, I get a message that says "Request to server failed". I have deleted and reinstalled Blackberry Maps without resolution.I have also deleted the Blackberry Maps service book, but that did not resolve the issue either (it reappears after restart, so I assume it has re-downloaded a new service book). I have also contacted my company's IT, and they confirmed that the company does not block Blackberry Maps through the BES. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get my Blackberry Maps to communicate with the server? Could this be an issue with the WiFi or SIM (since Sprint is CDMA)? I have found similar issues online, but none with Sprint and none with a successful resolution.

View 5 Replies View Relatedi've been noticing some problems with my controls on my keyboard. In fact, I was not able to use the red button, de back button, the q,a,w,s and z buttons either. I decided so to restore my blackberry. But, when I was restoring it, my sister unplugged it and since then, I am not able to do anything with it. It loads (where it's written blackberry with a loading bar) and right after, there is a white screen with error 200 on it. Now, when I replug it into my computer, it says : Blackberry desktop software can't communicate with the phone connected. There is no way I can restore it again or do anything.

From then on the podcast app 1.0.0.48 has failed to "communicate with the server" when I try the Explore Podcasts feature, and also no longer notifies me (or downloads) new episodes. I rolled back to the previous version of the OS and the problem still exists.

I tried removing my google account and readding to the phone, but that didnt work either. 2 step verification is not turned on with my account as well.
Apparently all I had to do was click on my email that was on the main screen. Telling it to add an existing probably confused it? But anyways, now Im curious because my google music settings show NO authorized devices. Is my phone not authorized anymore? My old phone was on there, but I deleted it from the list, now no devices are there....I mean, Im listening to music with it, and I can buy songs, so Im confused. Or is it a moot point because I only use a STANDARD account?
Its been a while since I posted on here but I woke up this morning to a phone call and while trying to talk to the person on the other end my blackberry kept thinking I was plugging in and unplugging a wired headset making it impossible to communicate. When I actually plugged in my wired headset it worked fine but from then on any calls without the headset have the same issue.
I don't know if it has anything to do with it but I recently updated a ton of system and user apps however the phone was working fine until this morning.I've done a battery pull, blown compressed air into the audio jack itself, I've restored the phone in desktop manager, and I've even taken the phone apart and made sure the contacts for the audio jack weren't obscured but to no avail.Do you think this could be a hardware issue with the jack or is it more likely to be a software issue? I'm thinking hardware considering it works fine with the wired headset in place
