BB Storm :: Can't Connect To Internet Without Wifi And No BBM
Sep 19, 2011i cant connect to the internet without wifi and i have tried adding my friends on BBM and it just says pending they have tried adding me and all they get is an error message. i have tried registering to the host routing table but have not recieved anything back how long should this take to work?

Feb 20, 2010I have a storm2 (9550) that I bought from a friend. My friend's service carrier was Verizon Wireless (USA) and my Carrier is ATT (USA). I have unlocked the phone and works perfectly. I do not have a DATA Plan and do not want to use internet through ATT. The first couple of days I had the phone I was able to connect to the internet through my home's WiFi. But on the third day when I finally unlocked the phone and used my ATT SIM card, I could not connect anymore. Everything else works fine. My home WiFi profile gets recognized on my BB but does not connect to internet. (Failed to obtain an IP address). Could it be that ATT is blocking my WiFi connection? Or is the problem still within my BB and router?

May 26, 2010My company is a little behind the times and I do not even know the correct terms to search for an answer to my questions within these forums.We are running Microsoft Exchange 2003 and we just set everyone up with a company domain email address (Exchange address?).I would like to be able to connect a smartphone to the server so I can sync my email, calendar, and contacts.I have a Storm 9530 on Verizon, but other employees have other phones. One uses an iPhone, the other is looking at a Droid.Is there a quick and easy way to access Exchange on our phones? Do we have to have a third party app?My wife, who is in no way tech-savvy, was able to easily sync with her work email, calendar, and contacts on her personal iPhone after a simple walk-through phone call with her IT department (They have since somehow disabled this function for non company issued phones. I think just to **** her off.)I would like to be able to send emails from my phone and have them show up on my server. Syncing the calendar and contacts would be an added bonus.Can anyone help me or point me in the right direction? Oh, and by the way, I AM the IT department.

Feb 12, 2010I have just bought a Storm 2 9550 that is from Verizon USA. The device is GSM unlocked, and I am using it from Hungary on a local carrier. I am in the middle of a carrier change that has Blackberry services, however I currently have 3G web access on my actual carrier. However, the integrated browser that came with the phone, does not allow me to use the 3g network, only WIFI service. I cannot even set it to 3G on the browser options tab, as it only offers "hotspot browser".
Is there any way I can find a http browser that supports the 3g network, so I could surf the web on this carrier until I complete the carrier change? Is there any on Blackberry App world? I didnt manage to find one.
Also, I would like to have a POP3 client on my device that can communicate through 3G with a pop3 mail server, as the integrated email messaging software that Blackberry device software 5 offers is only capable of having a mail account through a BB service provider.I am very staisfied with the device itself, great for managing calls, and multimedia - did not face any crashes at all (maybe once when I wnated to take a picture and it frozen when the flash lit up).

I've tried google and found different answers, ranging from "storm 9500 cannot connect to wifi", to "i have one and it can connect just fine". I can't find the wifi option in the "manage connection", and there is no browser icon on the home screen either.

Dec 6, 2011I recently deactivated my Blackberry Bold 9000 (v4.6.0.304 operating system) from AT&T since I ported my cell phone number to US Cellular who had better coverage in my region. I'd like to continue using my Blackberry Bold 9000 as a free wi-fi only internet access device and install the Google Voice app so my kids could text message and make phone calls via the Google Voice app and phone's wi-fi connection. While my BB Bold is able to connect to our home wi-fi network like in the past it doesn't successfully connect to the internet and gives me the following message: "Unable to connect to the internet, please try again later."

Apr 14, 2012i'm running an unlocked Storm 9550 on t-mobile. Since I updated to the 1656 bundle I've completely lost my internet browser, email, or any other data use. Literally all this phone can do now is text and ring. I tried reverting to the last bundle which didnt help (updated again to the new bundle now), have tried registering in the host routing table, every time it sends the message but still no entries. have tried countless reboots, deleted the Wi-Fi things in the service book and still no good. The browser only gives the option of hotspot browser. Does anyone have any sort of solution for this? Seeing as I'm paying for internet and emails I should be able to use them.

It says "You are currently not in an area that can handle data communication. As a result the browser cannot retrieve any web pages" This happens even when Im in full reception and where I would have been prior to leaving!?
Usually I just turn it off and take the battery out but this time it doesnt work. I have no idea what to do or anything about the network etc.

Oct 15, 2011I have had my BB Storm for approx 18 months now and on and off for the past week or so I have been experiencing some difficulties with different aspects of it. These are:Facebook App - I haven't been getting any notifications come through on my phone and sometimes the newsfeed is a few hours behind. Internet Browser - With the FB app not working I have tried to go to the mobile site which has taken forever to load then comes up "Server Unavailable". I have then tried to go to other websites and have found the same issue.
BB App World - I went to see if there were upgrades available on App World thinking there could be a glitch with the current FB thats available but it comes up " Blackberry App World is having trouble connecting to the Blackberry App World server. Verify your network connections and try again" so I am unable to do anything in app world whatsoever. The top of my phone shows that I have coverage in my current area so I don't know what else I can do to try and verify my network connection.Emails - usually (before approx 2 weeks ago) i would receive instantly but I have been noticing 24 hour+ delays lately.
