BB Storm :: 9530 Connect To Internet Through Phone Using Bluetooth?
May 8, 2011so my dad has the 9530 on Verizon, and he has like a tethering plan or modem plan or something like that. He connects his phone to his laptop with a USB cable and gets internet on his laptop.I've been trying to connect to his phone through bluetooth and get internet. BTW, I have Windows Vista 32-bit, if that helps.Anyway, I can't figure out what to do at all..I downloaded VZAccess Manager, I downloaded BlackBerry Desktop Manager (Because my computer had been trying to install device driver software and I thought that would fix it, yet it still asks to find device driver software). My computer is paired to his phone, but I'm lost now.

Feb 12, 2010I have looked everywhere and i cant seem to find any drivers. the blackberry website seems to say that they are on windows update and I can find them but i don't know how to extract them. Basically, i have a custom built pc and windows 7. All usb ports have been tested with other devices. I tried the desktop manager 5.0 and 4.7 and that doesn't recognize my BB. Windows says that i have connected an unknown device.
I tried rebooting the device and pc and removing the battery from the device. All to no avail.
Someone please tell me where to find it, give me steps to get it working, or where to find a self extracting driver. Also I downloaded the RIM blackberry smartphone driver from the windows update site and it still says it didn't install correctly

Apr 21, 2010Does anyone know what could possibly be wrong with my BlackBerry Storm 9500?Just recently went to the UK and internet was working fine and now I'm back in Australia the internet wont work at all. It says "You are currently not in an area that can handle data communication. As a result the browser cannot retrieve any web pages" This happens even when Im in full reception and where I would have been prior to leaving!?
Usually I just turn it off and take the battery out but this time it doesnt work. I have no idea what to do or anything about the network etc.

Sep 15, 2011Ok I have a Verizon storm 9530 that's been unlocked. My service provider is T-mobile. I've talked to T-mobile and was able to get my email going. I've just a problem connecting to the internet. Things I've done: I've registered my phone by going to options > host route > and registering Did a soft reset Had the T-mobile service books sent to my phone But my edge goes from upper case to lower case when I search the internet I don't have an updated OS..I think I'm working with 4.1 I do have the blackberry software on my PC..So what do I do..

Mar 3, 2010My Storm is running all of the latest official software and when I connect it to my Windows 7 PC it shows and error for a fraction of a second and reboots. If left connected via USB it continually crashes until disconnected. It previously connected without issue on my current computer. Has anyone had this issue and what fixed it?

Sep 12, 2010I wish there was an easy way for me to portray the amount of disdain I have for my Storm at this time, however, that won't do me any good!I'm just looking to get some insight to my problem and whether or not it can be resolved! It would be really unfortunate if I had to replace my lump of a phone as I am a college student that just moved away from home and am in the middle of my two-year contract.My phone is still in operating order minus the faulty touchscreen, it still receives messages, emails, and even phone calls. All the side buttons work, in short, the screen is just dead.I did not drop it nor spill any liquids on it and I've performed a plethora of battery pulls. I'm at a loss!Let me describe the events that occurred before (seemingly) death of my touchscreen. I was at a friends house preparing for a 9/11 5k race when I noticed my battery was running low so I left it in a safe place to quietly run out of steam because I had no need to carry a phone during a race. At this point it was still fully functional. After the race, I check my phone to see if it was out of power yet which it was. I get home later that night and charge it only to rudely surprised by an inoperable screen. I cleaned the screen and did a few battery pulls afterwards in hopes it was only a minor problem to no avail.

I was also in a moderate car crash the day prior so perhaps that may have caused some problems? Externally, my phone is in mint condition. I suppose this just hasn't been my week!

I then went and tried to do the network diagnosis, and it pretty much failed all of it. I purchased this off of amazon.com and so far i love it. I only wish that I could access the internet with it. May 4, 2010My Storm 1 crashed Sunday night with message on screen stating 'Reload Softwares 552'. I called Verizon Tech Support and they just ended up giving me a brand new Storm 2 for free! All I had to do was re-sign my contract for another two years. Gonna miss my Storm 1 but the Storm 2 is sweet! Just got it today. Anyone wanting to upgrade, try using that excuse.

Feb 20, 2010I have a storm2 (9550) that I bought from a friend. My friend's service carrier was Verizon Wireless (USA) and my Carrier is ATT (USA). I have unlocked the phone and works perfectly. I do not have a DATA Plan and do not want to use internet through ATT. The first couple of days I had the phone I was able to connect to the internet through my home's WiFi. But on the third day when I finally unlocked the phone and used my ATT SIM card, I could not connect anymore. Everything else works fine. My home WiFi profile gets recognized on my BB but does not connect to internet. (Failed to obtain an IP address). Could it be that ATT is blocking my WiFi connection? Or is the problem still within my BB and router?
