BB Storm :: 9530 Connect To Internet Through Phone Using Bluetooth?
May 8, 2011
so my dad has the 9530 on Verizon, and he has like a tethering plan or modem plan or something like that. He connects his phone to his laptop with a USB cable and gets internet on his laptop.I've been trying to connect to his phone through bluetooth and get internet. BTW, I have Windows Vista 32-bit, if that helps.Anyway, I can't figure out what to do at all..I downloaded VZAccess Manager, I downloaded BlackBerry Desktop Manager (Because my computer had been trying to install device driver software and I thought that would fix it, yet it still asks to find device driver software). My computer is paired to his phone, but I'm lost now.
trying to connect my storm to my mac, but doesn't seem to work I have plugged in the usb lead, it charges the phone but thats about it, when I go System profiler it doesn't even recognise thats its connected, I've tried it in different USB ports but still nothing.
I have looked everywhere and i cant seem to find any drivers. the blackberry website seems to say that they are on windows update and I can find them but i don't know how to extract them. Basically, i have a custom built pc and windows 7. All usb ports have been tested with other devices. I tried the desktop manager 5.0 and 4.7 and that doesn't recognize my BB. Windows says that i have connected an unknown device. I tried rebooting the device and pc and removing the battery from the device. All to no avail. Someone please tell me where to find it, give me steps to get it working, or where to find a self extracting driver. Also I downloaded the RIM blackberry smartphone driver from the windows update site and it still says it didn't install correctly
Brought my first BB yesterday,a Storm 2 as I hated my iphone - however my BB days could be numbered as first impressions are not so good !Got it unlocked through Vodaphone onto the Orange network as my Iphone contract still has 20 months to go !I cannot connect to the internet unless I am at home and connect through my wifi ?I get "This is a wifi service. Please ensure your device has an active wifi connection and try again "Is this one of many problems that I will get as i am on orange and not Voda ?Also can the memory be increased for music etc ?
I had a new purchase BB storm 9530 from online portal. It has unlocked verizon software with inbuilt GPS. I have tried everything but can not start GPS navigation.I can see default service as none in Map option.
I tried to transfer some pictures & files to Samsung mobile via bluetooth. I can see the device is paired but everytime I try to send or recieve any file it fails.
I'm unable to connect to internet over the phone via bluetooth connection. But i'n able to connect to internet via usb cable. I believe it might be a bug as i'm able to use bluetooth to sync my contact to PC and transfer photo to other phones
Does anyone know what could possibly be wrong with my BlackBerry Storm 9500?Just recently went to the UK and internet was working fine and now I'm back in Australia the internet wont work at all. It says "You are currently not in an area that can handle data communication. As a result the browser cannot retrieve any web pages" This happens even when Im in full reception and where I would have been prior to leaving!?
Usually I just turn it off and take the battery out but this time it doesnt work. I have no idea what to do or anything about the network etc.
Ok I have a Verizon storm 9530 that's been unlocked. My service provider is T-mobile. I've talked to T-mobile and was able to get my email going. I've just a problem connecting to the internet. Things I've done: I've registered my phone by going to options > host route > and registering Did a soft reset Had the T-mobile service books sent to my phone But my edge goes from upper case to lower case when I search the internet I don't have an updated OS..I think I'm working with 4.1 I do have the blackberry software on my PC..So what do I do..
I recently purchased a BlackBerry Verizon Storm 9530 from a website....the BBM and internet data plan doesn't work even after activating the plan through my carrier (Vodafone)..
my storm 9530 does not connect to the app world website. when i connect it and ry to download any application or game, it gives this error message:"cannot connect to blackberry app world. plugin error. make sure you have content protection disabled and then try again"i have disabled the content protection. still it gives the same error.
I recently got a blackberry from ebay and set it up on PagePlus. I got the phone around December 20 and activated it the 21st. The internet worked fine! All of a sudden it stopped? I'm wondering why did it stop? I have plenty MB left.
My Storm is running all of the latest official software and when I connect it to my Windows 7 PC it shows and error for a fraction of a second and reboots. If left connected via USB it continually crashes until disconnected. It previously connected without issue on my current computer. Has anyone had this issue and what fixed it?

When I connect my Storm to my pc and open My Computer then open the blackberry drive then click video folder, then copy files to pc all my videos on my Storm disappear. I can access them on the pc but can't find them on the phone. I pulled the bat and disabled/enabled media card but still nothing.
I have a BlackBerry Storm 9530 with this error. I have tried to follow instructions to use the Desktop software to force an Application load but this error shows up before the phone will connect to the desktop software.
I wish there was an easy way for me to portray the amount of disdain I have for my Storm at this time, however, that won't do me any good!I'm just looking to get some insight to my problem and whether or not it can be resolved! It would be really unfortunate if I had to replace my lump of a phone as I am a college student that just moved away from home and am in the middle of my two-year contract. My phone is still in operating order minus the faulty touchscreen, it still receives messages, emails, and even phone calls. All the side buttons work, in short, the screen is just dead.I did not drop it nor spill any liquids on it and I've performed a plethora of battery pulls. I'm at a loss!Let me describe the events that occurred before (seemingly) death of my touchscreen. I was at a friends house preparing for a 9/11 5k race when I noticed my battery was running low so I left it in a safe place to quietly run out of steam because I had no need to carry a phone during a race. At this point it was still fully functional. After the race, I check my phone to see if it was out of power yet which it was. I get home later that night and charge it only to rudely surprised by an inoperable screen. I cleaned the screen and did a few battery pulls afterwards in hopes it was only a minor problem to no avail.
A little hardware information that may be of use:
Verizon Carrier
OS .328
I was also in a moderate car crash the day prior so perhaps that may have caused some problems? Externally, my phone is in mint condition. I suppose this just hasn't been my week!
When I plug into my laptop it doesn't find the device memory in windows. Also, when I plug into media sync it doesn't find my blackberry. Desktop manager always find my blackberry and window always finds my media card. Does anyone know what to do about this?
Trying to make the hole for the loops to go through, I tried drilling through the battery cover but that just scratched it a little. Should I use a different drill or has anyone succeeded with a different method?
I'm leaving a company that said I can keep my phone (S1), but they want the number. I don't have a personal account w/Verizon yet. How can this be done? I don't know if they are planning to use the # right away, but it's associated with them.
My phones battery has tanked, ever since I updated my OS to the new 5.0 OS. I took it to the store and they are now gonna send me a replacement phone. Will it be a Storm 2 that arrives in the mail?
I keep trying and can't install .JAD apps onto my Storm and get a message saying something like that kind of file cannot be installed. It's Quickpull that I'm trying to install but this is happening with all the .JAD apps. BBSlider and Google maps which are both .COD files installed fine.
I just upgraded to 5.0.0.419. my phone is still very slow, hour glass thinking icon pops up all the time. even when im just opening up text msgs or switching applications. just wondering if there are any tips out there to help with the issues my phone is having. thanks
I can dial out and I know the phone connects to the other party (says connected) but I can't hear anything. The phone is not on mute and the volume dial is properly adjusted. Also, the voice recognition software stopped working just before this problem came up. Both problems now are present together.
I am having to get a replacement bb storm and need to know if I use backup and restore, will my contacts as well as calender be able to sync to the new bb? What about transferring videos/pics and emails as well
