Samsung Galaxy S II :: Accessing Internet Set Up Mode. - Model GT-i9100?
Oct 31, 2011
As with all new things all kinds of changes to default need to be set up.I'm unable to access internet, e.g google pages etc. message: "no connection" or similar.Question: In settings mode, where do I select the equivalent of " allow access to internet" ?
I bought the Samsung S2 GT-I9100 a couple of days ago for my birthday. Everything is working perfectly, including 3G internet. However, there is a problem with my WIFI. It connects to the network, but nothing loads on the internet browser, or on any other app that uses the internet. I've tried a few different networks and have had the same problem. I'm running 4.0.3.
I noticed in my i9100 (bought recently) that the ringhtones had some Hindi names in the stock ringtones - 'Jeeley har pal', 'Umang', 'Saavan'Do they come with the stock SGS II i9100 ringtones or maybe some app has installed them.Need to confirm this to make sure I have not been ditched by the vendor and I am not using a second hand phone PS: If it helps, I am from India and need to confirm the stock ringtones that come with the Indian version?
I've been having, from time to time, this issue when receiving a phone call I could not hear anything. After I press the end call button, the top bar is lit green and after I slide it down, even though I click on the END button, the call seems to stay alive. I cannot receive nor send calls (getting something like "call not sent"). Is there a known problem with the S2 i9100 or I just got a problematic phone? After 10-15 minutes, the phone seems get by itself back on track: receiving calls.
So basically I went away for 4 weeks, came back, switched on my phone and now BOOM it won't call anyone, it won't use 3G or anything or even make texts.
Here's some useful information:
- I'm picking up signal, and can receive texts etc.
- when I try and call someone, it says 'you cannot make outgoing calls while call barring is on' (even though I've checked in settings and it isn't).
- I'm on o2 in the UK
- I've checked my status, and it says 'Mobile Network State' is 'Disconnected'.
- It's running 2.3.3
- I've got the Network Mode on Auto (as it always was when the phone actually worked), and also I haven't been playing around with the APNs or anything like that.
- I bought the phone legit from Carphone warehouse a few months ago, and it worked mostly fine up until I switched it back on yesterday. I'd had a few problems with non-wifi internet before I left last month, but nothing affecting making calls etc.
I am recieving a message every time i try to acces a website on my phone, it keeps on saying "this is a Wi-Fi service. Please ensure your device has an active Wi-Fi connectionand try again, i have tried to change it from hotspot browser to internet service browser but i cant do it
Looking to buy a new samsung mobile but not sure which one is popular nowadays , can anyone let me which model is going on market?and i don't have more requirements just look pretty cool, that's all.
when I set my phones alarm clock at night, the phone has recently started going into airplane mode of its own accord. This isn't affecting the alarm but obviously I am missing any texts or phonecalls coming through and don't get them until I wake and change the phone mode back. I am running ICS 4.0.3 LPS rooted using Chainfires kernel.
I used to hook up my Blackberry to the PC and it would allow me to use the phone's internet browser projected on my monitor. I can't get this phone to do the same. Am i missing something?
I just tried out car mode for the first time and when I was in the simplified interface there was no way for me to exit it... I just tried it out inside so it wasn't automatically hooking up to a cars bluetooth or anything. I believe I was supposed to pull down on the top menu thing to turn it off but I couldn't pull it down while in car mode. I ended up having to reboot my phone to get out of car mode.
The network mode on my Samsung galaxy S5 device is always set at GSM only. When I try to change it to WCDMA only or GSM/WCDMA (auto mode) it changes back to GSM only. The area I am has 3G network and most devices I see have H but mine always shows as E no matter what I do. When browsing it takes a long time for pages to open because its always at E.
I have factory reset the device but still facing the same problem.
I just got my SGSII today and so far I'm impressed at how much power it's got compared to my original SGS. So far the only disappointment for me is that samsung didn't include the "Add Me" effect in Scene Mode. I've had so much fun with this effect and I actually use it more compared to any other scene mode. I would like to ask if there's an app that can do the same thing? I tried using panorama to create a "twin" but it simply doesn't work.
i have a galaxy s2 and i was disabling the fast dormacy @ *#9900# and i think my finger touched the ram dump mode and i do no know what the stock setting is.
After 5 months cool job my phone 2.3.3 GT-I9100 SGS2 running India distribution unlocked. Not rooted start showing constantly an icon of a plain as it was in flight mode and if you go to settings it shows that the flight mode is off. Also it is not recognising any SIM. Currently I am in UK.
When I first got my phone we found the reader and found ourselves in night mode. How we rejoiced! Now I have no clue how to do it again. I have tried all the options available, it is just not there??
when I plug my S2 into my laptop (Macbook pro) and choose data transI was expecting to see an icon representing the phone show up on the Finder desktop. That's not happening. Instead I'm prompted to "press the home key to quit Samsung Kies" Am I doing something wrong or do I HAVE to open Kies in order to see my phone's memory (32GB SD). My Nokia N8 would just show up on the desktop...not so with the GS2.
PS. Does using the USB invoke Samsung Kies to open up? I'm not seeing anything on my homescreen except the word "Connecting"...and the little dots that indicate the phone is thinking about something,..but nothing ever happens beyond that.
Yesterday for no reason my phone started activating a "Car Mode" feature draining the battery into nothing even after its fully charged. the screen is also rotating even when i have auto rotate off and is also starting freeze. it keeps connecting and disconnecting into Kies via USB despite the USB not even being plugged in.
I recently bought the Galaxy S2 and slowly getting to grips with everything. But I'm having an issue when it comes to receiving incoming calls. The phone always reads out the contacts name out loud, I've already deselected driving mode but it still keeps reading out all incoming calls which is really annoying.
It was 5 weeks old and developed a screen issue, went back to repair centre, came back fixed.....All good.....Well no.Now, when the silent icon on the drop down curtain says silent, its not, when you select to change this from the long press of the power on/off button (It gives you a turn device off option, deactivate/activate data, Airplane mode and Silent off and on)The turn on silent mode actually does the opposite?
Can anyone please come up with a list of possible ideas/suggestions as to why my mobile phone seems to be accessing the Internet every fours hours? It is costing me money The phone I have is a Sony Ericsson W705.
I'm on 3 UK. When the phone shows that it has an HSPA signal (H or H+) I can connect to the internet (using the browser or a music streaming app for example). If the signal isn't HSPA then I lose internet access even when I still have a strong 3G signal. Has anyone else come across this with the SGS II or with other phones on 3 UK?
I've just moved over to Samsung from HTC (Desire HD). One great feature I used the "Internet Pass-Through" which is kinda the opposite of tethering, where I was able to get internet from my PC onto my phone at times when there was no wireless available so I had to plud a cable in my PC to get internet, then by connecting my phone to the PC via cable, I was able to use the PC's internet connection on my phone, which was great for down loading all my RSS feeds and so on.I've looked for this feature in my new SG S2 and could not find anything remotely like that. Is there a work around which can be done, or perhaps an app that does the same job?
Anyone else running into issues where the internet becomes unresponsive? I've experienced this over wifi and 3g in the browser. I end up having to exit all applications and clearing the memory and then it works again.
I have a Samsung SCH-U490 (Trance). I wish to load some music into the phone's internal memory. When I plug the phone into my PC's USB port, the phone display says, "MTP, Connect to the PC..." Windows makes a "ding" sound, confirming the connection of a new USB device. But after that, nothing happens. No new removable drive. The phone's internal memory is not accessible. I tried using Samsung's PC Studio 3. It reports no phone connected.
So I connect to a bluetooth device for my car to play music and provide directions. Driving mode somehow got turned on and is annoying as all heck. So basically I want it gone. It doesnt do anything for me, it just randomly resends a notification and interrupts my music and I have had it.
