I'm on 3 UK. When the phone shows that it has an HSPA signal (H or H+) I can connect to the internet (using the browser or a music streaming app for example). If the signal isn't HSPA then I lose internet access even when I still have a strong 3G signal. Has anyone else come across this with the SGS II or with other phones on 3 UK?
View 1 RepliesI notice when I am on LTE I always get Internet but when it switches to HSPA it will show I am connected but nothing connects.
Yesterday for example I was on Wifi and then I noticed I had a couple of extra bars well I turned Wifi off and then it showed 3 to 4 bars but no H or LTE and no Internet. I went and choice t-mobile then t-mobile fast and it showed LTE again.
my ATRIX 4G toggles from UMTS to HSPA and back all the time. i see that on the mobile network type under settings--> about phone--> status.
After each of these toggles the mobile network state (same status menu) is connecting (and then connected until next toggle)
i suspect this phenomena to be the reason that my internet connection is unstable (disconnected very often). I'm using original ROM w. MotoBlur of course. any way i could just disable the HSPA and check if the UMTS is enought ?
I used to hook up my Blackberry to the PC and it would allow me to use the phone's internet browser projected on my monitor. I can't get this phone to do the same. Am i missing something?

One great feature I used the "Internet Pass-Through" which is kinda the opposite of tethering, where I was able to get internet from my PC onto my phone at times when there was no wireless available so I had to plud a cable in my PC to get internet, then by connecting my phone to the PC via cable, I was able to use the PC's internet connection on my phone, which was great for down loading all my RSS feeds and so on.I've looked for this feature in my new SG S2 and could not find anything remotely like that. Is there a work around which can be done, or perhaps an app that does the same job?

I thought I could connect the phone to my laptop which is wired into broadband and use that. Any ideas on how to that ? The laptop is connected to a wired broadband service, there is no router.

For some reason i cannot connect to the mobile internet when the connection is showing 3g. It will only connect when it is showing H or H+.
Also for some strange reason, the internet connection wont work at all if i havent used it for a few hours. To get back internet you have to go to flight mode and back or switch off and on to get back online.
how to close the Internet browser on the S2. After viewing several pages via links I don't know how to exit the browser. If I just exit the app by pressing the Home button it means that the next time I tap the Internet button it takes me immediately to the last page I was viewing. Surely that's wrong and there must be some way of closing the browser properly.

I will be reading the news, working on the internet, or downloading Apps suddenly the screen flickers, the internet connection get disconnected, and it shuts down.When I start it again, the battery would be empty (even if it was full before) and it shuts off again. I have to leave it for a while to restart it again for it to work. Today I tried hard restart, also factory re-set and erased every thing on the phone but it still had the same problem.

To resolve the matter I have to unplug the router and restart it.

I have a USB2 OTG cable and a USB to RJ45 ethernet cable but when I connect it all up and try the web browser, the phone just say that it requires a Wi Fi connection.

I bought the Samsung S2 GT-I9100 a couple of days ago for my birthday. Everything is working perfectly, including 3G internet. However, there is a problem with my WIFI. It connects to the network, but nothing loads on the internet browser, or on any other app that uses the internet. I've tried a few different networks and have had the same problem. I'm running 4.0.3.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have had my SG2 (On three with "all you can eat data") for about two weeks and the last week I keep getting a tethering block, several times a day, when using internet or network error while using apps. this can only be fixed by rebooting the phone. I have not used the phone for tethering or as a wifi hot spot so don't know why its doing it. I have replaced the sim card and done a factory reset on the phone but it is still doing it. When I get the error in the internet app there's a link to the three website which does work.

Wifi connection is fine, it's when I am connected via 3G that speed drops and applications such as facebook takes a long time to open and sometimes I encounter timeout errors. View 4 Replies View Relatedi am trying to play cityville on the samsung galaxy sii using the stock internet browser. i can open facebook without any problems but when i click on the cityville link, the loading bar at the top just keeps refreshing every time it gets to the end and the page doesn't ever seem to load. there are android cityville apps but you can't use them to play the actual game, just check and collect bonuses.

i get spots in my home area of bay area, california, but i know this is becuase they are doing the site optimizations here...sometimes, my coverage is absolutely nothing where it was decent before. even though the HSPA+ is supposed to go to 21mb/s, our devices are rated up to 10mb/s on the n900...which is still the fasted available...........
