BB Storm :: Can't Turn Off Ringer When Using Bluestar Bluetooth
Jul 5, 2012
I have installed a BlueStar handsfree bluetooth device in my car. I want to turn off my BB Storm's ringer and use only the ringer coming from the radio in my car. I cannot find where to mute the BB Storm ringer just for this one bluetooth device.
I have recently updated to the new OS via desktop manager. Shortly afterwards i have noticed missing calls and messages. The vibrate alert works & the light flashes but no sounds. I have expeirienced a similar but different issue on the last update, where all ringtones and sounds were ereased from the phone, resolution was go back to previous update and re apply update.
After a number of battery out reboots i have unfortunately not had success in correcting the fault. I note that the keypad tones are also gone when attempting to make a call. I have tried playing audio files and have no sound unless i switch to speakerphone, have considered that perhaps the speaker has failed or the issue has disabled the main speaker, guessing the ringer would use this...the phone works fine i.e the speaker next to ear works o.k but no evidence of any audio from the one on the back. In my few hours of exploring and proding the device i have discovered that the mute button seems to not do anything...
Can anyone offer some guidance or suggest a solution. I have trawled the forum a bit and found similar but not same descriptions, have explored all suggestions but have come up short
What's the easiest way to turn off/on the Phone Ringer? I know I can do it by going to Settings>ringtones+sounds>Ringer, but this is not very convenient when you need to temporarily disable the Ringer for meetings, etc. at work. There must be a faster/easier way, but I haven't found it yet -- and God forbid I have to read the manual.
I've just noticed on my Lumia 1020 that when I have a Bluetooth headset connected to it I don't have the option of adjusting the Ringer volume as the slider disappears. You can see in the screenshot that I only get the one slider for Bluetooth volume.
Is this normal? I found below a topic where someone thought it was normal..if I have the headset connected, but sitting on the desk beside me waiting for a phone call, and I want to adjust the ringer volume. I don't want to have it always in my ear when not on a phone call, and I would've thought the ringer volume for the phone should always be available? Volume/Mute for Windows 8.1
Is there a way to turn off the ringer on the BB when using a Bluetooth headset and simply have the the BT headset notify you when you have a call? My old Motorola I870 would by default not ring and just let my BT alert me via the headset when an incoming call is being received. I don't want to use a quiet mode if at all possible? Because if in the event I should turn off my BT? I could miss calls if I forget to turn the Phone back to normal mode.
I need to know how to turn on and off the ringer on my 8330, not matter what setting I have it on it does not ring, it vibrates. I am not sure if I turned something off or what but I have tried everything I can think of.
My Samsung Galaxy S5 has an issue with the interaction with Blue Tooth paired with my Ford Escape Hybrid, the Goggle MAPs turn by Turn voice does not function until I disable the Bluetooth on the phone.
I was charging my phone, then when i came back to check on it, it was blank. no light, no power. I tried to take the battery out and put it back in, but still its dead. no led light, nothing.
I have gone into the profile for phone and checked that the volume is at 10, but even when I "try it" I don't hear any audio for my ring tone. When my phone rings along the botton of the screen it says "ringer off" and I cannot get it to turn back on.
I know there are ways to use a GPS BT reciever WITH my Blackberry Storm phone but is there a way for me to use my Blackberry Storm AS a Bluetooth GPS reciever? This might not be a common question but I was wondering if there was a way. The reason is because I have another phone where the GPS accuracy is downright junk but I heard you can use it in conjunction with other BT GPS Recievers as a "band-aid" fix. I do not want to purchase a BT GPS reciever and I had an old Blackberry Storm just lying around and was wondering if I could turn that into a BT GPS Reciever.
I had a new purchase BB storm 9530 from online portal. It has unlocked verizon software with inbuilt GPS. I have tried everything but can not start GPS navigation.I can see default service as none in Map option.
I tried to transfer some pictures & files to Samsung mobile via bluetooth. I can see the device is paired but everytime I try to send or recieve any file it fails.
I have 9 9550 and it will not Send audio over my Bluetooth connections. I have deleted and added Several times but No luck. It does Work when I Connect those devices to Other receivers. Must be a Settings in the Phone or something is Broken.
is our storm2 capable to play medai files via bluettoth headset?
I've my bluetooth headset to make a phone phone call, mute and voice command. however desperately trying to use it in the default media player unluckily it no music played on my head set. I've tried to activate it on menu , activate headset and it played only on the phone not on my bluetooth headset.
I just upgrades from a Curve 8330 to the Storm 2 9550. I paired it with my car and it constantly connects then dis connects with the factory hands free. This makes it difficult to answer calls and I drop calls in the middle. The curve worked fine with my car so it's not the car.
I have the desktop manager installed and when I click on the media section it says I need to turn mass storage on. I have mass storage on but it still doesn't connect. What can I do to fix this cause I really want to put more songs on my phone. Also my phone doesn't fully install onto my computer because it says there's a problem with the Bluetooth peripheral drivers, I don't know what that's for but I guess its important. Where do I find the drivers to install on my computer?
I have one problem while trying to transfer contacts from my old Blackberry Storm 2 to new BB Torch 9850 using Bluetooth. When I press Transfer Contacts on Storm, message shows that all contacts ( 95 ) are transferred but Torch received only one contacts at the time.
so my dad has the 9530 on Verizon, and he has like a tethering plan or modem plan or something like that. He connects his phone to his laptop with a USB cable and gets internet on his laptop.I've been trying to connect to his phone through bluetooth and get internet. BTW, I have Windows Vista 32-bit, if that helps.Anyway, I can't figure out what to do at all..I downloaded VZAccess Manager, I downloaded BlackBerry Desktop Manager (Because my computer had been trying to install device driver software and I thought that would fix it, yet it still asks to find device driver software). My computer is paired to his phone, but I'm lost now.
I am unable to either receive or send any file via Bluetooth, When a another device sees me and tries to send, It asks for passcode, which i create a 4 digit, in matter of seconds it times out and looses connection. Similarly when i trie to send a file from my device strom 2, i can never select other devices at all.

I have a Bllackberry Storm 9530 and I have problems to turn it on. When I try to turn it on, it appears a white screen with app. erro 523, and reset. When I try to reset, it turns off, and start again from the begining. I didn't try to download anything, only I Coppied from my PC, some cartons short movies, my daughter watched them.
Recently, my phone kept turning itself off, and on. At first. it would turn its self off and then turn itself on and the battery would be flat. But if i had credit on it, it would use my credit up?Then after a few times it came up with uncaught exception error 4 or 5, the number would change. But the other day it switched off and 2 days later it has not switched back on, i have it on charge and has been on charge since it happened.
On my Blackberry Curve 8330 I could listen to music via bluetooth, then place a call using the headset's voice-dial button. When the call ended the music would restart. But on my shiney new Storm2 9550, this doesn't work. After the call ends, the phone just stays at the dial screen. Any suggestion on what I could try?
so earlier my phone froze up and it had like 1 bar oof battery.so i took out the battery and when i turned it back on, it loads about 2/3 of the way and sits there.the load bar is sitting at 2/3 and i plugged it up, and it does nothing....what do i do?
My BB is on a corporate server and we receive e-mails from around the world at all hours of the night. Does anyone know how to turn off the audible notification of incoming mail, while retaining the settings for incoming calls and texts?I have the Storm II.
