why can't I connect to any wifi connections all of a sudden? It says "Failed to associate with the network" but this appears always even when I'm connecting to a public wifi outside my house
View 2 RepliesI juz received a blackberry storm 9500 from my sister, and I don't know how to connect it to wifi (I'm very new at this). I've tried google and found different answers, ranging from "storm 9500 cannot connect to wifi", to "i have one and it can connect just fine". I can't find the wifi option in the "manage connection", and there is no browser icon on the home screen either.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a BlackBerry Storm 2 9550 3G CDMA WiFi OS v5.0.0.1015 Bundle 1656. This phone was with Verizon previously and I have no present carrier. I want to take this phone to Europe to work WiFi and possibly a European Sim Card. I worked with Verizon and the phone is unlocked. I took it to Verizon, and they, as I had done, connected to a WiFi network (ID above clock in white), data and roaming turned off, and received a "success" on setting up. I noticed the "WiFi" symbol is a dull white, as opposed to the network name which is bright white. I go to the browser and it allows me to put in a URL, but when I try to go there, "Internet is not available, check with provider". The browser is set to Hotspot. I have removed the battery to no avail, and have done a security wipe, but the results are the same.Is there a setting I am missing, or something else basic I have overlooked?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a storm2 (9550) that I bought from a friend. My friend's service carrier was Verizon Wireless (USA) and my Carrier is ATT (USA). I have unlocked the phone and works perfectly. I do not have a DATA Plan and do not want to use internet through ATT. The first couple of days I had the phone I was able to connect to the internet through my home's WiFi. But on the third day when I finally unlocked the phone and used my ATT SIM card, I could not connect anymore. Everything else works fine. My home WiFi profile gets recognized on my BB but does not connect to internet. (Failed to obtain an IP address). Could it be that ATT is blocking my WiFi connection? Or is the problem still within my BB and router?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have looked everywhere and i cant seem to find any drivers. the blackberry website seems to say that they are on windows update and I can find them but i don't know how to extract them. Basically, i have a custom built pc and windows 7. All usb ports have been tested with other devices. I tried the desktop manager 5.0 and 4.7 and that doesn't recognize my BB. Windows says that i have connected an unknown device.
I tried rebooting the device and pc and removing the battery from the device. All to no avail.
Someone please tell me where to find it, give me steps to get it working, or where to find a self extracting driver. Also I downloaded the RIM blackberry smartphone driver from the windows update site and it still says it didn't install correctly

View 4 Replies View Related(and I HAVE searched these forums extensively first!), but my PC has just come back from having some work done on it, and this evening I plugged in my USB lead to the PC and then my BB Storm 9520 (v5.0.0.553). I'm on O2 btw....Normally I get 2 screens - one is the "Install new software (which never works so I ignore it) then the usual screen pops up with "Removable Disk (F) etc.", which enables me to use my phone as a USB storage device, just like a memory stick.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAll devices surfing wirelessly on Airport Express.Replaced Airport Express with Time Capsule.Problem: Wife's iPhone4 (5.1.1) can not surf on wifi provided by my time capsule. All my other devices (iMac, Mac Air, iPad and my iPhone) can. Wife's iPhone can surf on an unsecure network somewhere nearby in my apartment complex. (Which to me, rules out a hardware problem).
Steps taken: Tapped iPhone wifi On/Off multiple times with no change. "Forget this network" multiple times with no change. Reset iPhone Network Settings multiple times with no change. Restored iPhone using iTunes as New iPhone once with no change. (Since doing that, I have restored with back up of iPhone settings and data.) Powered Time Capsule on/off several times with no change. Turned wireless security off with no change. Security is back on. It is WPA 2 Personal with a lengthy password. I'm not getting the "incorrect password" msg. Renewed lease multiple times with no change.
Other indications: 3G is in upper left. Status wheel is spinning next to my network's name. On the initial "Settings" window, my network name is shown (as if it were connected. But tapping it and going to the "wifi networks" window shows the list of available networks with the status wheel spinning next to mine.) Tapping the blue arrow on my network name leads to the window that has "forget this network" at the top, and a list of blank fields: IP address, subnet mask, router and so on. DHCP is chosen, HTTP proxy is OFF. Sometimes, the top two fields (ip address and subnet mask) have values filled in, but the rest of the fields don't.
On my Time Capsule, as seen via Airport Utility (V5.5.3), 3 devices are shown as connected. Clicking this provides a listing. My wife's iPhone wi-fi address is listed. It's "rate" however is 1. My imac is 216 and my iphone is 65. BTW, iOS devices drop off the list when they go to sleep. No big deal there.
Back to Airport Utility, in the summary tab... status is normal, version is 7.6.1, wireless mode is "create a wireless network", security is "wpa/wpa2 personal", channel is 149 auto and 1 auto (I tried changing 1 to 11 with no change), connect using "ethernet" and finally my IP address begings with 76. 76.xxx.xxx.xxx
Moving to the "Wireless" tab of Airport utility... wireless mode is "create a wireless network", radio mode is auto, radio ch. selection is auto, wireless security is wpa/wpa2 personal, "remember password in keychain" is checked. Now Clicking on the "wireless network options" button..... 5ghz is not checked, country is USA, multicast rate is "low", t-mit power is "100%", WPA group key timeout is 1 day (it used to be 1 hour but this has made no change in the problem), "use wide channels" is not checked, "create a closed network" is not checked.
MAC access control is not enabled. But it was enabled previously and I added my devices by their Wi-Fi addresses one at a time until i decided to turn it off due to this problem. this resulted in no change with the problem.
Personally, I feel the prob lies with the DHCP and ip address and related fields, but I don't know enough about what their values should be in relation to my other devices to alter them on my own.

Since I got my phone a few weeks ago I have not been able to connect to the 3g network anywhere. I have good service where I live and almost everywhere else that I have tried. I can connect to the 2g network (EDGE). I have tried forcing the connection, but the phone just goes into SOS mode. what should I do to try and fix this?

View 6 Replies View RelatedFor some reason I can not receive nor send MMS on my Blackberry 9520 Storm 2. I do not even see the option to send a picture as a text when I go to my pictures. I am not sure if this is the phone or my provider. I have my 9520 unlocked and on AT&T with an unlimited data plan and unlimited text. I have tried having pictures sent to me as well, but that also was no luck as I NEVER received a text.The second problem I am having is that I can not access the Blackberry App Store. Every time I try it says that it can not connect to the server.
Edit:: The App Store problem is no longer present (turned off the network and turned it back on), but the MMS problem is still present.
