While I was typing a message the phone "crashed". I could only see the tiny "egg timer" spinning...So I removed the battery and left it that way for about 5 minutes. Then I put in the battery again and the phone started booting. After that my provider logo appeared and, as usual, I was asked to enter my pin. I tried and nothing happend. The screen was not reacting at all, I could only use the keys but not the touch-pad.Therefore I removed the battery again and after another 5 minutes I put it back in. And then the red ligth started blinking and the display only shows a battery which is crossed out in red...
Anyone know how to move saved messages from the Storm to Storm 2?I recently dropped my Storm in the pool, got the new Storm 2 got all my contacts back but can't figure out how to transfer these messages.
when I set up my email I only get the option for regular email accounts to be set up and not the BES option. I have set up my gmail account and that is fine. I have also set up my email account from work to synch via the web exchange but not through the BES.I really want this option as I know it is the better way to be set up, we have BES set up on our work server I just need the option on my handset to do it!
When I try to turn it on a red light comes on for about 10 seconds then shuts off. A little square with a line goes around for about 5 seconds and disappears. Then this cycle starts again.
but I can access no functions, cannot even shut it off without battery pull, and while the desktop manager recognizes the phone model and PIN, it never finishes initializing. I am desperate for the data contained within the contact records in the address book (addresses, birthdays, anniversaries, grandchildren's favorite colors, etc), and the seriously dependent data in the Password Keeper app that came on the phone.
Because I presumed this unlocked Verizon phone (which I've been running on AT&T for 2+ years) to be, for most intents and purposes, dead to me, I've replaced it with a Torch 9860, and hope to to perform the phone-to-phone function, but I can't move forward from here. I am not technically knowledgeable - really, technologically challenged
I have a Storm 2 9550 that within the last few days began to re-boot itself at various times. I go to use my phone and notice the red light is "on" and it is rebooting itself despite having a full battery.
A few days ago I was running the VZW official .713 OS. Then, I think I installed the latest BBM. After about 12 hours of that, I started experiencing random crashes triggered by actions (not particular actions). I add a contact, it crashes. I boot back up and add again, it doesn't crash - something like that with various other actions like me locking the phone using the left lock button, or snapping a picture, etc.I didn't attribute this to BBM and so figured to hell with the official OS and installed a hybrid (Yes, I'm aware that it's not a supported OS bla bla, but it started with the official .713 so there is merit to this). And upgraded to the new BBM. Installed apps, etc. Battery was draining by 2-5% every 30-45 minutes. Crashes were happening and I wouldn't know till I had to use the phone again, at which point it starts the boot process.I uninstalled the latest BBM and downgraded to the previous stable 5.0.0.66 and it is still going on.
I'm running out of options here.I checked the event log for the time it crashed and encountered only one fatal error:Any help would be appreciated as I don't know what else to do except for installing the old BBM and no other applications. In which case, no point of the phone. I've been using the phone for the past 2 months with no problems..If someone wants me to email this to someone at RIM, that's fine too as I don't know how else to go to them.
My storm 2 just randomly decided that it was going to turn the red led on and stay on permenantly the phone itself still works fine so do all of my LED alerts say if it was charing instead of swapping between green and off it would be green then back to the red LED, i have tried wiping the device and then rebooting updated software onto it i have checked for water damage using the water damage indicator which is still white i deleted all my apps turned off all my alerts but still the red light?
(and I HAVE searched these forums extensively first!), but my PC has just come back from having some work done on it, and this evening I plugged in my USB lead to the PC and then my BB Storm 9520 (v5.0.0.553). I'm on O2 btw....Normally I get 2 screens - one is the "Install new software (which never works so I ignore it) then the usual screen pops up with "Removable Disk (F) etc.", which enables me to use my phone as a USB storage device, just like a memory stick.
I just got a new BlackBerry Storm 9520 a few days again, and am now experiencing difficulties with the display. On the main menu (in portrait view) instead of showing application icons, it shows an oncreen keyboard which i cannot remove. Several times the keyboard has presented with jumbled letters and numbers, but then reverts back to QWERTY view.I am confused as to why this is happening.
my Storm 2 always crashes when I'm using opengl.OS version is 9520M_PBr5.0.0_rel1611_PL4.2.0.423_A5.0.0.973 The eventlog is deleted after reboot so I found nothing interesting in it.The affected applications are PBA Bowling 2 and Aces Jewel Hunt.Unfortunately I have no other opengl applications to test it.
i bought a Blackberry Storm 2 9520 and unfortunately it has startup problems. So i plugged it into my computer and tried to restore it with the Blackberry Desktop Manager and unfortunately on initialsing i got a message saying "not enought output_sys_cmd_free_q", after trying to restore again i just got this message again.
I bought first blackberry phone, Strom2 .It works quite fine but sometimes when I make a call its not disconnecting them. I have to take out battery and then use it for 1 day and then again the same problemDuring this, My whole screen get locked and I cant make any click on screen. can you please tell me whats the problem?
I got rugby tackled into a lake with my BB in my pocket a few weeks ago and the phone got wet. i took the battery out straight away and then dried the phone in a bowl of rice for a few days. when i put the battery back in the phone worked fine for about a week and then the screen started to stop working sporadically before packing up altogether. the little water damage indicator on the phone has turned red but the one on the battery hasn't. even then the red LED still came on when i put the battery in and the 4 little call, menu, back, and hang up lights came on too. about two weeks later i had the device charged in my bag when i went into an old wifi spot i used and i heard the phone recieving emails, bbms and facebook notifications so it all still worked. i was fiddling around with it the other day and i could see thep phone was trying to load up when i plugged it in although the screen was very dim as if the backlight wasnt working. after a long time (maybe and hour or so) i looked at it again and could make out that there were a list of specifications and numbers on the screen in tiny print and a small icon in the centre of the screen that said "reset" on it. i tried to click this but the touch screen wasnt working so it didnt work. i was wondering if anyone knew if theres any way of fixing the phone?
I have a vodafone 9520 that I want to unlock to use in Canada. It's asking me for a MEP network code. Can I re-load the OS and have it complerely unlocked?I'm using a mac and have the blackberry desktop software.
the touch of my screen has stopped functioning. the display is there but nothing is working. only the button to lock the screen is working, otherwise all the call buttons and the menu and back button are also not working... how do i retrieve my contacts?
I've been twisted in agony how to resolve this issue:Landscape mode gives the virtual keyboard to be half (specifically, the right side half is the only one showing, the left side is totally blank)I made sw reload already but same issue.Tried different language and tinkered on arabic and english but it's still the same thing. When in portrait mode, the virtual keyboard is full,But when in landscape mode, it's half only..

I had eight brand new storm replacements! Now seven storm 2 replacements and also on my way is my first "like new" storm 2! I hope It is in good shape! Also should I take the chance and download the leaked OS?
While updating to the latest OS for the 9550 my phone just froze up with a code on the screen "Reload Software: 507". It was in the middle of the update when the pop-up on my computer said it could not connect. I hit retry about 5 times. I then did a battery pull but the error came back.
I have a Storm2, only a month old. The end button hardly works and i am getting double clicking. After reading on the forum i thought maybe it was the theme i downloaded on Friday. All these issues started right after that so i uninstalled it.
I have a storm 2 9520. After charging my phone up today I have noticed an error, a very annoying error infact! I have done several battery pulls but I am unable to see my homescreen. Nothing I do loads up my homescreen. If I was to navigate I need to hold down the BB key or press the green button to make a call. Also I can not bring up any icons at all.
I have recently bought the Blackberry 9520 Mobile Phone, When i select Email setup in only gives me the option to setup a Work Email with Blackberry Enterprise. Is there i way i can add a Personal email address.

I have a problem with my BB STORM 9520: after a phone call I made, the keyboard is completely stuck on the Homepage. So, instead of having a regular BB homepage with the menu etc..I have the QWERTY keyboard not going away in anyway. If I type some keys, it brings me to the "numeric keyboard", the one you use to dial the numbers when you have to make calls.
Been a Blackberry user since March last year, although I seem to have struck lucky with the particular blackberry I've got - my Storm2 9520 has been a catalogue of problems since the start.Anyway, last night I dropped the phone in my room, and the screen broke. Now, all that can be seen is a bizarre, inky pattern onscreen, obscuring everything bar the very bottom of the view. However, the glass screen itself is undamaged. Whenever I've looked on the internet for fixes, nearly all of them seem to deal with cracked glass screens, but my screen is undamaged - the display and what's showing up onscreen is the problem. Now, I'm not very tech-savvy, so here's my questions for you all:
1) what is the nature of this problem, i.e.. what is actually broken?
2) does my Vodafone warranty likely cover this? I've already sent the phone off once to be fixed, when the screen was not working properly and wouldn't respond properly to my button presses.
3) If no to 2), how easy would it be to affect a fix myself? Would it simply be a case of buying a new screen part and fitting it?
