the touch of my screen has stopped functioning. the display is there but nothing is working. only the button to lock the screen is working, otherwise all the call buttons and the menu and back button are also not working... how do i retrieve my contacts?
View 9 RepliesI rinsed my phone under the tap today because someone got chocolate icing on the screen. I didn't submerse it in water and i haven't dropped it. I simply ran it under the tap for no more than 5 seconds then dried it on my shirt and now the touchscreen doesnt work.
I made sure the flaps were closed and i've checked the indicators, on both sides they are yellow/white and not pink.
I'm trying a repair through the computer as restarting the phone has done nothing.
I put put a soap-water solution on the screen while applying a screen protector, as advised by a video. Is there a way to get the screen to work?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently dropped my phone about 2 feet and the screen cracked a bit in the upper right-hand corner. The phone has been fine for about a week since the incident, no problems at all. Yesterday I noticed there was some slight bugginess with regards to the touchscreen. I turned it off then back on, and it began to be unresponsive entirely, so I put the phone away and ignored it for a minute. I try again and it works just fine. A few minutes later, the same issue happened again, but I had no luck just ignoring it. I am unable to unlock my phone at all. I can still navigate through the power options just fine using the d-pad. I tried connecting it to a computer and to a power source and had no luck with that either. The phone won't charge and won't mount on a computer.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI plugged my x10 into my Macbook Pro with Sony Bridge for Mac installed and the touchscreen suddenly stopped working. When I unplugged the cable the touchscreen remained unresponsive but then after a while it became responsive for half a minute before going off again. All this time the phone keeps telling me I've got new email coming through but I don't know where that email is. Now I'm getting texts but I cannot read them.
How can I get my touchscreen to work again? This appears to be a software problem? Can I read or export SMS messages without using the touchscreen?
I would erally need to back up my SMS if I need to wipe the phone but so far have not found a way to do this. I have never updated the system of the phone so I assume it's still in the original factory OS.
I'm having a little trouble with my storm 9500's touch screen. There's a part of my screen that won't work. At the beginning I thought that the screen was malfunctioning or it was broken but for some reason when I connect my device to my PC the part that is not working changes and the part that was not working before is working. There are times when the entire screen is not working and there are times when the entire screen is working properly. I tried to reinstall the software of my device by wiping the memory and then installing the os using Loader but it didn't work at all.

But when I turn it on, red light flashes for few seconds. It flashes for about 15 seconds then goes black. The four buttons on the bottom light up for few seconds.I tried Application Loader Wizard but there were no applications to be downloaded.But when I connect it to Blackberry Desktop Manager, the LCD comes back showing the signal of empty Battery. I am referring to the method of tapping the power button on the top left to add and remove the lock.The power button still works to turn the phone on etc, but just wont lock the screen. As you can imagine this makes life very difficult with a touch screen phone.

View 6 Replies View RelatedOver the weekend I was having some issues with the touchscreen. The problem was random and sporatic. When I went to do anything on my phone, the screen seemed very spongey. It almost felt like using a capacitive touchscreen. No click feel or sound. Then I could put it down for a couple minutes and the screen would be back to normal.
I have also noticed that my touchscreen calibration is a little off. I mainly notice this on my alarm clock. I attempt to click on the "dismiss" and end up hitting the snooze.
Macrumors.com posted a comparison amongst the top touch screen phones and the study shows that iPhone is the most accurate when it comes to touchscreens. They failed to include the BB Storm 2 in their studies.
Having used the iPod Touch and the BB Storm 2 quite a lot over the past couple years, I must say that both compare equally when compared with each other.
I didn't know if I should put this in the Storm forum(s) or 3rd party or GPS but here it is.
I tried out waze because I've heard of it and it looks pretty cool but of course touchscreen BBs aren't supported. In an effort to try and help the issues storm users are seeing there is a post on the waze forums here.
The thing is, you can only create an account from the client, and you can't use the client on the storm.... how do they expect any feedback? I messaged them on their twitter and that got me nowhere fast.
Am I the only one that sees this as completely moronic?
I was able to get it working a little w/o compatibility mode now. Enough to get an acct setup and post on their forums at least.
where I might get my hands on a storm2 9550 - unlocked preferred (a reliable source). I'll need to use it on AT&T as that's my corporate carrier. I'd really like to take the touchscreen out for a drive

View 4 Replies View RelatedCamera works fine, when in landscape mode and using camera key to take picture with auto focus and all. Tried it today in portriat mode, didnt used the side key because its easier to use the center touch screen key. Held it for a minute or two camera seem to do the auto focus, then all of a sudden the phones screen goes blank and you cant even see what you want to take a picture of anymore.Is that normal or is it not made to do auto focus with touch screen push in portriat or what?

I have also set up my email account from work to synch via the web exchange but not through the BES.I really want this option as I know it is the better way to be set up, we have BES set up on our work server I just need the option on my handset to do it!
View 6 Replies View RelatedIn the last month my Storms touchscreen has been behaving very bizarre. It has been adding a period (.) in the middle of sentences when Im typing. I just hover over "space" when typing and it puts 5 or 6 spaces in without me clicking the screen. It highlights and selects things when Im hovering and haven't clicked the screen. For example, I can no longer select multiple emails to be deleted because just hovering over the first email opens it. Trying to scroll through my call history has become a pain cause the phone has started dialing the number just because I've highlighted it. Its almost behaving like an iphone screen now.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Storm 2. I have generally pleased with it but about once a week I have to remove the battery and reboot because my screen becomes inactive.
If I press the screen for a certain application something else is activated. Nothing is more bothersome than trying to look at email but the phone dials either the last person called or the first person in the directory. And hanging up quickly doesn't really worked since the touchscreen is acting funky.
Doing this once a month wasn't an issue but lately it has been almost 10 times per day that I have to pull the battery.
But today I think discovered something. It seems only to act this way when pulled from the holster (a blackberry holster). When I reset it and leave it out of the holster and carry in my pocket, I don't have an issue. Put it in the holster then I get the problem to re-occur.
I like the convenience of the holster.......you think it is a holster issue or a hardware issue.
Looking for suggestions on what to set my tap interval and hover period settings to. Need something to make it quicker and more responseive
View 4 Replies View RelatedI got a blackberry storm from my friend about 2 weeks ago. When I got it, it worked perfectly, I personalized eveyrthing and I loved the phone. However, this week I was at work and I'm pretty sure the phone died. The red light stayed on, and when I was charging it in my car, it wouldn't hold a charge. It didn't turn on for 2 days, other than the white screen with the battery. I did a few battery pulls and left it plugged in. Now, it turns on when it wants to but the touchscreen realizes that my finger is there, but it doesn't click. What should I do? I took it to verizon and since I don't have insurance on it, they won't give me a new one.
