BB Software :: "Phone" Application Using 100% CPU Causing Freezing

For the last few days my phone has been freezing frequently (the little black clock of death keeps popping up) when using a variety of apps, and sometimes when my phone is simply sitting idle on the table.

I opened Application Management on my phone and scrolled to the CPU tab. Every 5 or 10 seconds, the Phone application will show that it is using between 75 and 100 percent of the CPU, freezing the phone for 5 or 10 seconds, and then it goes back to 0% before repeating the process.

Last week when my phone was operating properly, the Phone application showed very little CPU use, and the last few days it shows upwards of 21 hours of CPU use per day. I assure you I haven't been talking on my phone for anywhwere near that long.

This is extremely inconvenient as this is causing my phone to freeze constantly and is draining the battery extremely quickly. I reinstalled the OS this afternoon, which seemed to do the trick for a few hours, but the problem has since returned.
