BB Software :: Option To Turn BBM Off Or On When You Want
Feb 26, 2010
I love the Blackberry product. It's safe to say it's the best phone I've had thus far. However there is one issue that i can't get around. It's simply the fact that i can not turn off Blackberry Messenger when i want to.I don't like the idea of it being on all the time. There are points where I'll have 3 or 4 messages just waiting and feel obligated to check them. Not to mention the issues that arrive after you've read messages (r) and don't respond.I know it's a simple fix really, however over the past month I and quite a few people that i know whom have BBs have discussed the same issue of "always being connected". I've reached the point where i've been inquiring with my service provider about removing the data package all together as to get rid of BBM. The quick easy solution is to uninstall it. However it's not that i don't find it useful when i want to use it. It's just that the majority of the time i have no choice.
I'm sure some would say, well perhaps you just need to turn the phone off but thats not so practical. I feel if it's important you can call. If i'm busy the little busy sign doesn't stop people from messaging. Perhaps i'm a little neurotic but seriously.. It drives me slightly insane that flashing red light.Anyhow, for the love of all things good and pure.. please PLEASE have your dev team put in a feature where users can turn off their BBM should they want to. It's just another thoughtful feature for an all around thoughtful product. I'm sure i'm not the first and i'm positive i'm not the only one.
So I like that my phone underlines incorrect words, but I like the corrections that my SwiftKey keyboard does over this list that pops us when I click on a red underlined word. It usually blocks the option that I was to pick off my keyboard. So is there anyway to turn off that list from showing up but still have misspelled words underlined?
I can't find any option to turn off hearing aid mode on my phone!! It is actually deafeningly loud and everyone I call complains of being able to hear an echo of their own voice.
I got a new Telus HTC One the other day and noticed that little ear icon in the notification area.. So I searched around and everyone asking about it on the web seemed to be given the same solution (go into settings/call and turn off hearing aid mode)- but the option, as far as I can tell, is completely absent from my phone.
My One is rooted and running Android 4.1.2 at the moment... I know the 4.3 update will be rolling out to Telus customers over the next few weeks so I've been crossing my fingers that the new update will fix this issue, but I'm sure there has to be a way I can do it in the short run. Is there any way to show hidden options on a rooted phone?
have just received my new Nokia lumia 800.I love it so far but want to see how the battery does before I decide whether to keep it or not. However, not sure if I am missing something but there doesn't seem to be an option to turn 3g on and off under mobile networks and I can't figure out how else to do it.
If a contact in my favorites has more than one number associated with it. Every time I try to call that person a window pops up with the available numbers. So far so good, but then when you press the number you want to call you must also choose between "mark as default" or "just once" EVERY TIME.
For most of these contacts choosing a default number would be more trouble than it's worth because the number I want changes depending on time of day etc. I would just like to skip that step entirely.
I'm using Xperia Z2, and this week I've update it into official Android Lollipop 5.0.2 through PC Companion. However, after the update installed, i seen a horrible WiFi problem: It's "always on". Even after I turn off scanning always available option on Advance Setting, the WiFi still on, as seen from the Battery Usage. This problem makes my Z2's keep awake and taking a huge battery loss.
I am new to BB and I cannot find how to turn the above off? If I go into options in the mail folder then to Email settings there is no option to turn off?
I bought my 808 in Singapore, a country where other brands of smartphones come with an option to turn off the shutter sound eg HTC Desire S or an option to turn off the shutter sound when phone is in silent mode eg Samsung Galaxy S2. I was disappointed upon purchase of 808 to find that no such option existed.I would like to request Nokia to consider releasing a software update that allows users to turn off the shutter sound either as a setting or when phone is in silent mode. This was what Sony Ericsson did for its K700i model many years ago. There is a need to consider the varied needs of users eg the need not to awaken the baby when getting a shot. I wonder if this post is sufficient to convey my request to Nokia or should I make my request known to Nokia in another way that you can suggest?
My 4S will not give me the option to turn on icloud to back up my device. I went to settings: icloud: storage and back up: backup. The bae is not highlighted and I can not turn on Icloud backup. Is there any other ways to back up my phone so I can transfer data to new phone. iPhone 4S, iOS 8.1
My newly purchased (yet going to be exchanged) 950 is glitchy at best; but I do not know why Settings  > System  > Messaging, and turn on Text backup is not showing as an option on my phone. The software is up to date.I am swtiching back to the preferable windows 8.1 (Lumia 640) but I would like to have all the new texts that accumulated on the 950. How to backup new text messages. I have to return the 950 back to AT&T by Friday, Dec 18 to avoid paying for something I will never use. Not want to do a factory reset as I will lose what I am trying to maintain.
My iPhone has stopped playing sound, the sound is on and it will ring out loud but when I go to play music you don't get the option to turn the sound on, I had been playing my music earlier on today and it worked but I then upgrade to 5.1.1 and it has now stopped working. Is there a way to go back to the upgrade that actually works?
For some reason, I am unable to turn off repeat on my iphone 4. When I click on the album artwork, it does not give me the option to stop repeat. It doesn't even give me the scrubber.
I hope someone can help me with a 6700 Slide issue. How do you turn off the 'Share Your Photos' option on the main screen? I've spent hours looking through all the menus but can't seem to find out how to do it.I've managed to turn off all the other icons/menus on the main screen so I can see the Wallpaper image clearly. This is the last item I need to remove.
Cureve 8520 I am tring to turn the wireless sync option under calendar properties from NO to YES, but the option os grayed out,I went to the calendar> clincked on Menue > Options> selected my calendar> and the wireless Sync in NO and grayed out?
I downloaded a new app from appword, and then the routine "reboot now" option came up,I said yes, now the red LED light still lights up, but I can not get my phone back on!
No matter how hard I look I simply cannot find the select runtime option in the developer's menu to switch to ART. It's simply not there. I have a Rogers LG G3 and the device performance has been pretty sluggish since I bought the thing.
Since large update last week the option icon has disappeared from the desktop screen. When I try to access options via the bb menu it does not respond and takes me back to the home screen.
My iphone asked if I wanted to update and I hit yes. It said to plug into ITunes so I did. My only option is to "restore". It didn't ask if I want to backup first.I don't have service on phone and I don't want to restore. How can I go back to "not" restoring?
