have just received my new Nokia lumia 800.I love it so far but want to see how the battery does before I decide whether to keep it or not.However, not sure if I am missing something but there doesn't seem to be an option to turn 3g on and off under mobile networks and I can't figure out how else to do it.
View 9 RepliesMy newly purchased (yet going to be exchanged) 950 is glitchy at best; but I do not know why Settings  > System  > Messaging, and turn on Text backup is not showing as an option on my phone. The software is up to date.I am swtiching back to the preferable windows 8.1 (Lumia 640) but I would like to have all the new texts that accumulated on the 950. How to backup new text messages. I have to return the 950 back to AT&T by Friday, Dec 18 to avoid paying for something I will never use. Not want to do a factory reset as I will lose what I am trying to maintain.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently received a Nokia 820 factory unlocked from a competition, as you may have guessed I was pretty happy to get a brand new phone for no £££ but upon transferring my current sim into it I can only use WiFi and have no options to add APN to resolve i'm with VodafoneUK and they have been absolutely no help and Nokia haven't been able to help me either.
my phone before this one was an iPhone 4s
i've added all the updates from the post regarding network updates etc. but still nothing. add to that the volume for my alarm seems to be VERY quiet.
Why X6 don't show the duration of calls? Any setting to change?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI bought my 808 in Singapore, a country where other brands of smartphones come with an option to turn off the shutter sound eg HTC Desire S or an option to turn off the shutter sound when phone is in silent mode eg Samsung Galaxy S2. I was disappointed upon purchase of 808 to find that no such option existed.I would like to request Nokia to consider releasing a software update that allows users to turn off the shutter sound either as a setting or when phone is in silent mode. This was what Sony Ericsson did for its K700i model many years ago.There is a need to consider the varied needs of users eg the need not to awaken the baby when getting a shot. I wonder if this post is sufficient to convey my request to Nokia or should I make my request known to Nokia in another way that you can suggest?

From the way it appears the option to set the screen timeout to "never" on the AT&T version of the Lumia 920 is missing. Reports are that the option does exist in the Windows Phone 8.Why would this not be a user choice on the AT&T version of the 920?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI was browsing the options under the settings and tried selecting 'feedback to nokia'. A prompt came up (can't remember the exact wording) saying there was a problem with two buttons. One button was to uninstall and the other was to take you to the store entry for this item. The text of the prompt suggested going to the store and trying to install again. If that failed it indicated to select uninstall and then reinstall the 'app' (really a setting option). If I picked the store button the only option I had was to share this app. So I went back to settings and selected the uninstall button. But now I can't find the 'feedback to nokia' when searching the store. So I was wondering how I can reinstall this item under settings.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI purchase the lumia 900 and overall I'm very happy with it. My suggestion is to make an option in the settings under keyboard for 'show emoticon key'. Most people don't use/need 50 smiley face options, and I'm perfectly fine with typing : and ) every once in awhile when necessary.I'm left handed, and use my left thumb to hit the space bar when texting/emailing. About 50% of the time i accidentally hit the emoticon key and start typing all sorts of smiley faces, then have to hit the backspace key. I lose about 5-10 seconds every text message.

There's no "Original size" and the entire "Videos" section is missing.I've made sure my wifi is set up and working, and my skydrive is all operational - when I "sake to skydrive" from the photo app, that uploads fullsize no problem.
I can set the time manually just fine. But the phone isn't super accurate at time keeping so I wanted to set it to auto. But the option just isn't there.
I'm in the U.K with T-Mobile and switched from a Nokia 5530 which had the auto time option. No idea why I can't access it on this phone?
need to have enable or disable auto rotate option. Sometime unneccessory phone screen rotates whichbis littile irritative.

I bought a new Nokia Lumia 800. I noticed that despite turning off vibration, the phone vibrates each time the back key (<-) is pressed. Is there any way to turn this off. i believe this could save a lot of battery.Also how do we completely close an application in Lumia 800? I opened a page in IE. pressed back key. Then pressed and held back key to find there is no active application or IE running. However, when i open IE next time, I see the previous page has been loaded and it has been active all this time which could have been eating in to my data usage as well as battery charge.

I prefer to charge my phone overnight and I also need to turn it off so my number can divert. I have always been able to turn my phone off and charge it, however each and every time I turn it off it turns on again. The iPhone and other andriod phones don't do this, and the HTC didn't do it either, so why does Nokia do this. Is there a setting in the phone?Many google results seem to say it only happens with nokia, and others say it happens with all windows phones, however as previously mentioned, the HTC doesn't do it.

I have been using it for a 4 weeks now and suddenly when it was on the lock screen won't show up just the background without the clock, wifi, 3G or any other icons showing. After that when the screen timed out I can't get it to wake up anymore. When I get a text, call, email it doesn't vibrate. The volume, power or camera buttons don't wake it up. The screen doesn't light up or the touch keys. Does anyone one of a solution or has seen this before? I still have a 60% battery so won't be able to try until tomorrow until the battery dies. Plugging it into USB, I can see the phone on the computer.
