May 2, 2012I just recently bought my iPhone 4 and Facetime will not work.When I go to settings then phone facetime is not an option to turn on.

Apr 13, 2012i'm aware that there is no facetime in UAE before i bought my iphone 4s.
i'm just wondering why other iphone 4s purchased in local store in UAE have facetime option and mine which i bought in apple store UAE don't have facetime option.

Jul 6, 2010Ok, so I have had my iphone since launch day. My fiance got hers today. We were going to try out the facetime so when we got home we logged into the wifi, but neither of us have the facetime camera icon under contacts, and when we call each other we don't have that option. What am I doing wrong?

Apr 20, 2012An iphone 4s without facetime! I bought an iphone 4s from a retailer, i found out that the iphone 4s was originally came from UAE with a carrier etisalat. so called etisalat and i was informed by the Representive that the facetime was really banned in the country and was remove with the IOS 5.0.1 as defualt but they also verified that the iphone is factory unlocked, then i was advised that all i need to do is to restore the my iphone and i will have my facetime back since it is not banned in this country (Hongkong). so I tried to update my iPhone to iOS 5.1 however facetime setting still missing! check restriction no facetime, check phone setting and theres no facetime activation option. tried to factory reset the phone and choose country and region facetime still not available. So what i did is called apple and i talk to apple care Representative a very rude Agent and loves to Interupt his customers. i was told that whenever i update or restore my iPhone it contact the UAE apple server. and it doesn't make any sense im not in UAE im in Honghong. So i ask the rep. what can we do to make itunes contact hongkong or singapore apple server instead. Apple cannot give me a direct answer.So ask him if it something to with IMEI , Model or Serial Number, and they cannot give a direct answer again..... Come on Apple whats the sense of you releasing a factory Unlock if theres a Restrictions i Know that it the Law of UAE but you should do something About based on the location of the Customer....

However, on my Ipad, where i have logged in with the same iTunes account (and is not OS5 yet) it works ok and receives call!

Apr 22, 2012I'm trying to start a facetime call with another person and having all sorts of issues.my iPhone is wi-fi only, with airplane mode turned on. I'm doing this because I'm out of the country and don't want to use cellular out of the US. My understanding is that as long as I have Wi-fi, I should be able to use facetime, but every call I make fails.I also tried having someone facetime me from the US and they're not able to complete the connection either. These failers happened between 2 iphones, both on wi-fi.I have been able to make facetime calls in the US but this is the first time I've tried in Brazil.

Jul 2, 2010So I just noticed that I can now "FaceTime" others even though I am opt out from SMS/MMS. Under the phone settings I no longer have "Waiting for Activation" either. I'm guessing they someone how provisioned the "FaceTime" SMS to go through much like AT&T's own messages. Anyone else seeing the same results?

Aug 14, 2010A couple of days ago i installed 3g unrest. from cydia. i tried facetime while a friend was on wifi. no luck then i uninstalled 3g unrest. and facetime still wont work on wifi. facetime starts but wont connect. if someone facetimes me it will say connecting but it never connects. any1 else had this problem?
