A couple of days ago i installed 3g unrest. from cydia. i tried facetime while a friend was on wifi. no luck then i uninstalled 3g unrest. and facetime still wont work on wifi. facetime starts but wont connect. if someone facetimes me it will say connecting but it never connects. any1 else had this problem? HAS ANYONE FIXED IT?!

So I have had my iPhone 4 jailbroken ever since it came out on 4.0.1 and facetime never seems to work ever since then. I knew there was a problem when it first came out, but I thought it got fixed, but nothing worked. Is there a way I can get this working?

I'm doing this because I'm out of the country and don't want to use cellular out of the US. My understanding is that as long as I have Wi-fi, I should be able to use facetime, but every call I make fails.I also tried having someone facetime me from the US and they're not able to complete the connection either. These failers happened between 2 iphones, both on wi-fi.I have been able to make facetime calls in the US but this is the first time I've tried in Brazil.

So I just noticed that I can now "FaceTime" others even though I am opt out from SMS/MMS. Under the phone settings I no longer have "Waiting for Activation" either. I'm guessing they someone how provisioned the "FaceTime" SMS to go through much like AT&T's own messages. Anyone else seeing the same results?

When making or receiving voice calls via my network operator's service, no one can hear me, i.e my audio input. I can hear the person on the other end of the phone fine but they can't hear me whatsoever. However when I use the likes of viber, skype and facetime, my audio input is perfectly fine and the person on the other end of can hear me. Note both viber and skype calls work just fine and 2 way communication is audible regardless if I have a 3G or Wifi connection. Plus I have full signal bar strength when near a mobile tower so that eliminates antenna issues. Also have taken alternative turns to cover both the top mic and the bottom mic during a viber or skype call and my audio input can still be heard. I've done a reset, a hard reset of the phone and a reset of the network settings, still to no avail. Have updated iOS to the latest version 5.1.1.

After several minutes of the bar "requesting" the message comes up stating " A communication failure occurred with the selected Mobile Data Service. The server may be busy, please try again later. If the problem persists contact your administrator." I have tried hard resets, taking out battery, and to delete Pandora.

The connection appears in my wireless connections and it appears to have full bars, and it appears to connect me when I select it, but when I try to open a web page I get "server not found" message, and then when I look back at the connection it says "connected with limited access". I am in a city with so called full red 3G coverage too. Is there anything I can do to fix this, or is it the phones inability to transmit a wireless signal? I tried all the different types of security options in the program and still nothing. Am I simply out of luck with using this phone as a hot spot and am I going to have to upgrade to the evo v 4g to do it? By the way I am using windows Vista if that matters.

I have a 5800 which I have been using without issue for 6 months or so. Several days ago, I decided to install the Skype app, for whatever reason. However, once I did this, several problems suddenly sprang up.
First, when I receive a text message to my phone, nothing happens to notify me of this. Most of the time the little envelope in the corner shows up, but not always. No sound or vibration, however, no matter what profile I have it set on. The phone still rings when I receive a call, and for alarms, but not for text messages.
Second, my accelerometer seems to have stopped working. I DID get it to work once, and the phone flipped to landscape view, but then wouldn't flip back.
I've since uninstalled skype, deleted the install file, turned the phone on and off, took the battery out and put it back in, played with all the settings, etc., and no dice.
