Sep 18, 2011I have recently bought a Torch 2 (9180) phone with OS 7 from a retailer in India. However, I have been facing some problems from day 1 of the purchase. A summary of some problems is as under:
1. On clicking power off icon or pressing power off button, the phone does not shut down completely. It goes in somewhat standby mode and by just pressing the power button again, the phone starts as if only the screen had been turned off, i.e. the processor still keeps on working. Is it normal for OS 7 users because a friend has 9800 with OS 6 and it switches off completely on pressing the power off button and boots again when the power button is kept pressed? Also, if this is true for OS 7, then is battery pull the only way to completely switch off the phone?
2. The screen has stopped rotating automatically without disabling it!
3. The led light (white coloured) keeps on continuously flashing and drains a lot of battery life. I am unable to switch it off.
4. The phone has started hanging/freezing for 10-20 seconds each time I want to use any app.

Apr 29, 2010I found this out last night, I think from some BB Tip site, if you are in an app and usually you have to push BB Menu button and scroll up to Switch Application. Try this hold down the BB Menu and it auto goes to the same place as Swith Application.

Aug 20, 2011Sine Tuesday night when my battery died, the Wifi on my device doesnt work (I left the app world open which ran it down). Whenever I switch the wifi on, it says that it is unable to turn the wifi on. I left the battery out for half an hour on THursday night which seems to have worked for a while, but the problem has manifested itself again. I have done a security wipe and re-installed the latest software.I somehow dont think that it's hardware related otherwise it wouldnt work, would it? My blackberry maps also dont work and it says that the GPS is unavailable. Can it have something to do with the Wifi?We have 3G where I live most of the time, but the Wifi is just so much faster using my broadband connection at home. I contacted bb support and have not received any assistance. My carrier seems to think that it's hardware related, but I dont think so.

Sep 9, 2011Last week I purchased the new Torch 9810, a couple of days of use the trackpad started malfunctioning and well...for the first time in many years I received a defective device, yesterday I managed to change it for a new one without any problems.
As soon as I got home, I did the device switch operation with my BB desktop software without any problems too, but today I noticed something was diferent, I don't have or find anywhere in my phone the OS 7 digital compass. I know it's no big deal, but it was a nice app and would really like to install it on my new BB. I have surfed among the web and apps world and all I find are compasses for purchase, and it came free in this BB device.

BB Torch :: Switch Application Menu Screen?
Sep 16, 2011I have too many icons ( and I guess apps too) running in the screen when you want to switch apps. I have tried going in the app and then clicking "close" in the menu, the end call key and nothing seems to work. Some applications have the word "exit" on their menus and that seems to do the trick for some and but not all.

I've tried the SIM card in another BB and it works fine in there. I've had it charging both with and without the SIM in for a good few hours and no joy. Dec 1, 2011I have had a recurring issue with my screen not wanting to change orientation when I rotate the phone. This is especially frustrating since the portrait keyboard is difficulty for me to use. I have tried resets, battery pulls and most recently a security wipe. While the phone will work properly at first, the problem eventually recurs. I am assuming that I may have a faulty accelerometer. Is there a test that can confirm if this is the case?

May 9, 2012I have an iPhone 4s (Verizon). I had recently purchased what was described as an OEM screen plus LCD after I had cracked my factory screen. After replacing the screen and LCD such features as the side volume controls, vibrate switch, and proximity switch (dimming after accepting a call) have stopped working. I double checked to see that all of the connectors were pushed on correctly and they were. Is it possible this may not be an OEM screen and causing the problem or is there a piece of the hardware that I may have damaged that controls all of these functions (i.e. motherboard)?

Apr 9, 2011So of course there's switch mode from work and "play". I have this issue where when I switch from one the theme changes and if I switch back the theme doesn't change. I thought this would be fix, but I guess I was the only one with this issue. Just updated to .54. I'm of course not going to do anything about it I'll just work with it. Aug 11, 2010I have already installed the new Desktop Manager 6.0 that I downloaded from the RIM site.
I am thinking the safest way to not have a problem is the just restore my 9800 data from a back up rather than do the Switch Device thing. Anyone worried it might bring erroneous crap into the new 6.0 OS.
Maybe it would be better to redo my settings after the data install to make sure all is clean and working correctly. Some of the 5.0 setting would not be applicable to the new 6.0 software.

May 14, 2012I have been using my sım free iphone 4 for 10 months. I upgraded it to IOS 5.1.1 on 10.05.2012. After installation I used it 1 day.At that time the screen locked 3 times and at last time I pushed to sleep/wake button to change locked screen to normal screen..At first pushing secreen changed to black but after that I couldn't not switch it on the phone again. A few times I already tried to push and hold the sleep/wake and home buttons at the same time nearly 1 minute but nothing has changed.
