BB Device Software :: Messenger Chain Message Virus?

I've just recieved a message off a couple of contacts via BBM claiming to be a message from RIM saying that the BBM servers are full and if users do not send the message to all of their contacts on BBM then RIM will assume they are inactive users their BlackBerry Internet Service will be deactivated.
The text of the message was in blue, and had a link at the end 'www.blackberry.com/inactiveusers' which doesn't exist.
Surley this is a virus? I have deleted the message and haven't sent it on.Anyone else had this message? Is it a virus or is it genuine?

I received a text containing a picture of words saying "baby did you get this" this afternoon from someone I haven't spoken to in months. I am pretty sure it's a virus. Is there a way to check for viruses on the iphone 4?

Are antivirus programs needed with Android? I ran one for a while on WM but it seemed to slow everything way down on the system.I thought I had read that android was fairly protected but it could pass from your phone to your pc when plugged in via usb.

I upgraded from the curve to the tour 3 days ago. While I hadnt yet installed my contacts, I recieved a text message from someone that was an image of homer simpson that said, "click here to play." Upon clicking on the message it begins with the lyrics "you are so." then in homer simpsons voice it says "gay." I deleted the message immediatley however, after every single one of my notifctaion sounds, it now pays that message. I tried adjusting all of my sound settings and cant get rid of the sound. This is clearly very frustrating and would love to know how to remove this from my phone.

I avoid installing all kinds of software but recently upgraded to BBM v7. Since then I have been getting the followin message whenever I connect to WIFI:you are attempting to open a secure connection but the server's certificate chain is invalidCert belongs to *voip.blackberry.comI have tried all the options including saving the cert in my truststore. Still happens.

A friend and I both have blackberry Storms and use the messenger to communicate as she lives out of state. Recently she has been unable to recieve any messages I send from my end of the line. I recieve all messages that she sends, and my phone shows all my sent messages as being delivered and recieved when she checks for them, however none of these messages actually make it to her phone.

- the one of my mail adress Gmail
- the one call "default"
- and a "Groups"
the fact is that I have differente colors and I just want to have my gmail calendar ! I've check in "option --> options avanced --> services annuaire" and the only CICAL I have is my Gmail.

Fairly often when typing a BBM it will freeze when typing. Then when I go back into the contact to continue, it will not allow me. I then need to pull the battery out and then re-boot.

I have a Blackberry Curve 8520, firstly. I simply wanted to transfer some pictures to my laptop, and then I see something about an update for the Desktop Manager. There also happened to be the update to version 5. ow silly me, I didn't make a back-up as I didn't know that this update would remove all my info. I assumed it was just the applications (which I can install again) but I realized I've lost all my BB contacts. (Of course I didn't back up that info either.What I want to know is because I've registered before, shouldn't my info still show up in my contacts' lists? Isn't there a way for me to restore my contacts without adding them all over again? And can't they still msg me?

I've had by BB for about 3 week now and loving it
I have one problem though. I noticed today when I was chatting with one of my contacts in BB messenger, I was not seeing what I was typing in the message bar. Only when I pressed send did I actually see the message. This only happened today and with this contact only.

I am using blackberry torch 9800.I have been using vodaphone when I arrived at UK in September 2011.I didn't have enough credit to auto resubscribe the BIS at 11 February 2012.I topped it up at around 9am that day and until now, 12 February 2012, I still cannot receive message from BBM.My friend said, they received my message but I cannot receive their messages (they said the message could not 'D' at all) I have tried to take out my battery and put it back on several times. I have also tried to uninstall and reinstall back my BBM application.

Have had my 9700 for a couple of months now and it has been working fine until recently. First problem I had was a failure to send or open MMS. However a battery pull seemed to fix this. The past couple of days I have had problems with my BBM. I can message away fine until suddenly it stops working. Initially the red timer appeared and nothing was sent. Now a tick appears but it takes hours for the message to get delivered. The problem goes away temporarily and I can message fine only to return again.

I have tried to add a contact on bb messenger with the bar code and also the PIN.It has shown pending - waiting for authorization for days. i have checked the i am listening to box.It does this for any contacted that i try to add.

I recently took out a contract on Vodaphone, but wanted to keep my old O2 number from my previous contract. My BBM was working fine before the number was transferred accross, but now if I send a message, a tick appears to say its been sent, but there is no 'D' to say delivered, and the recipient doesn't recieve it.
Are there any phone numbers or email addresses I could use to talk to someone about this? Or are these forums the only way to get support?

Hi!I was talking to a friend yesterday, and all of the sudden she stopped receiving my messages in the BB Messenger. Now I can receive her messages (also they only appear as D, not R to her) but all messages I send to her only have the checkmark, not D or R (she is not getting my msgs). This is only happening with her, since I can talk with the rest of my contacts as usual.I have a Blackberry Bold 9000 (AT&T) running the most updated software.

please help i have a bold 9700 and have the latest blackberry messenger on the phone. one day i turned it on and the icon at the top of the screen showed i had a new message. after looking everywhere there is no message to be found. after numerous battery pulls and resets the icon is still there. i even brought to ATT today and there reps couldn't help me.

I'm not onto my second BB8520 and this on T-mobile UK contract. Everything is fab, however, BB Messenger constantly displays 1 new message icon...There definitely isn't. Tried hard reset 4 times with no luck. Been like this for 4 days and it really irritating plus with the red notification light flashing all the time it can't be doing my battery much good either!
Is anyone else having the same problem? And how can I solve this? I really don't want to have to either wipe my phone or remove BBM!

I have installed the Blackberry messenger on my Bold 9000. It's fully functional.I have 4 small icons now, indicating that I have new messages, but I can't find any new once.
Looking into this matter I found that in my Application Center, the BB Messenger is listed as "not installed" even though I installed it. Re-install also hasn't helped.i cannot delete it as "delete" is not listed in the menu. I'm also not able to see the application using teh Desktop Manager.
so my question are:
1) How can I find out what are the 4 icons indicating?
2) How can de-install my messenger now to just start from scratch?

I have user here that uses BB messenger. We have recently changed our e-mail domain address. The user here is now getting the following message: "[URL] was configured on the device. We recommend that you register this email with BlackBerry Messenger from the Back Up Contact List screen. Any registered email address can be used to recover your BlackBerry Messenger data in the future". The user is using a Curve 8530. How do I go about getting rid of this message?

Is it possible to get a virus on a BB? My brother has a BB and uses it for various things. one of them is checking his Facebook well lately his facebook has been getting locked for malicious use. He comes to my house to change the password and a few days later its locked. The only place he has checked the facebook from lately is his phone.

I got a fbi virus downloaded to my phone as an app called "browser update" . I know how to get into safe mode but the app won't delete . Have very important files saved onto my phone and I really don't want to factory reset . Is there any way of deleting this virus ? They're demanding $500 to unlock my phone and I really don't want to do that .

I use twitter and it sometimes brings me websites to look at Web page. I now have a virus. I'm getting pop ups a lot. For example, I will go to look at a text message and a pop up for singles websites or lawyers will pop up. I've never seen this before. How do I get rid of this virus?

I have a BB curve 9330 and I think it may have a virus. I made the mistake of downloading Skype and as soon as I did my BB shut down and I have not been able to turn it on since. I bought a new battery thinking that was it but nope. I tried plugging it into my pc for BB desktop and I actually got a blue error screen on my pc. I can't turn it on to make any adjustments.

I was doing some browsing the other day using Internet Explorer on my Galaxy S4. All of a sudden a blue screen appeared reading, " A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your Device. The problem seem to be cause by the following file:: mssmbios.sys and pci.sys."
It also has a pop up message that says " Confirm Navigation" , and asks me if i want to stay on the page or leave the page. No matter what option i press, the pop up doesn't go away and it hasn't changed since.
