i have just got my curve 9300 and tried to set up my email but it only gives me the option which says i want to use a work email account with a blackberry enterprise centre...how do i set up with a normal email account

View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there a known issue with the 9300 not charging. I purchased my first in December 2010 by mid Feb 2011 it had stopped charging. I returned the phone to my carrier in the uk 3. The phone was unrepairable and was replaced under warranty. Now the replacement phone has the same problem but they are saying that it is a user issue and not a warranty issue. If they are to repair it, I need to pay £119 which is ridiculous as I could buy a new one for £179. They have told me that the charging connection is damaged on one of the internal terminals.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI just updated a blackberry 9300 to OS6 and found some issues regarding the email settings. Here are the issues I've found
1. Somtimes, it takes a very long time to load up email settings. For this , I clicked on "Settings", and then "Email Accounts"
2. Under Email accounts, it is obvious that there are 2 types of emails, one being enterprise, and one for the other types. I wanted to add an emaiil account, however when I click on the first option , nothing happens.
I tried to do some research about this, and came accross articles saying that I need to install "Email Settings", from the desktop manager. So I did, but apparently , it gives me an error that there are dependency issues, which means that I can't install "Email Settings" afterall.
My email does not seem to be working on my curve 9300, I recently had a curve 9230 which I set up the same email on to that but then wiped the phone and took the email off, I am now using my 9300 and my email does not work, everytime I try to add my email back onto it it does not go on to the email setup, the email setup icon is there but I click it and nothing happens, I tried registering my blackberry again to the network but it still never helped, I security wiped it aswell n tried to add my email but the same problem occurred, i really need my email on my blackberry.

As I understand from the online manuals you can setup an Internet Mail Account (which is what I want) or an Enterprise Account (i don't have)When I go to email setup I get the title to the screen of 'Enterprise Activation' and options to enter my email account and 'activation password'. These seem to sugget it's trying to setup a Enterprise Account, when in fact I want an internet account.I can't see any options to change this at all? In the set up menu the only option for email takes me straight to the Enterprise option - I think I need personal email set up but I do not know where to find it.Also have a music download issue. I have synced it to our itunes and although I spent ages specify which tracks to add (using BB desktop software) and it seems to have added the whole libary! I then tried to remove it all with no success. Now seem to have double copies of everything! How do I remove all the music and start again and get it right.

I am able to use my enterprise mails, personal mails, BBM, and other applications available in my handset. It is just that Internet does not work.. My OS is version 6 .another colleague of mine who is using OS version 5 had a similar problem but it got resolved after he changed browser settings in Advanced Options- browser- Default Browser configuration- changed from Blackberry browser to Internet Browser - after that again browser options and select all ( support Java script, allow java script pop ups, terminate slow running scripts, show images, use background images, support embedded media) after that Cache options, clear all ( content cache, pushed content, cookie chache) . There after he went to host routing table and register .. Post which after hard boot he was able to access Internet.My problem is my OS version is 6 and I do not have advanced options tab in my handset and hence I am unable to change settings.

However,Things I have tried so far: I have used the desktop software's upgrade function to upgrade but every time I get the message that, there is no upgrade available. I also downloaded my carrier (MTN - South Africa) specific software the "9300M_PBr6.0.0_rel1879_PL6.6.0.124_A6.0.0.448" file and installed it onto my computer. I then connected my BB and tried to upgrade but was still unsuccessful.
