View 1 Replies View RelatedI changed the password for my smartphne ID on the internet but it wont change on my phone, how should I change it? Its been such a story to do all this because I couldnt remember my password and the email that I put in was the wrong one, so i had to go and open another email with the one that I used on the phone, and then I could change the password through that email, and the change the password. But now the phone is still asking the password for the previous email and I'm on my last chance. I'm a complete"virgin" when it come to these phones and I am really struggeling my **bleep** of... now I can't update my bbprotection.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just purchased BB8900 Curve from someone who works at a company.I found out from my carrier that my device is IT Policy Enabled. For example, under Options>Status and typing BUYR - the voice and data usage showed IT Policy Enabled. Under Options>Security Optoions> General Settings, it displayed the IT Policy with the company name.I went to the blackberry website and found the following: How to remove an IT policy from a BlackBerry smartphone url...There are 3 options - 2 of which involve the company's IT department. I didn't want to wait for vendor's IT department, so I used the 3rd option and I removed it myself (I believe). When I type in BUYR under Options>Status, it shows the actual usage for voice and data (no IT Policy). So it appears to be removed.I have a data plan with the device but not a BES plan.My questions:
1. Has the IT Policy been removed from my device?
2. Is it possible for whatever reason for the vendor's company to issue a IT Policy to my device remotely because they do have its info - PIN/IMEI? I hate to think that they could control my device remotely or see my emails/data?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI installed the BB desktop manager for Mac yesterday, and this morning connected to remove some apps, create some space, and install all the updates. In the process of this it mysteriously just stopped doing anything right after it said "database cannot be backed up" and shut off. Now it's flashing red twice, pausing for about 2 seconds, and repeating the flashing. I pulled the battery and sim even though I was sure that wouldn't do anything, plugged it back into my laptop, plugged it into the wall both with and without the battery, and nothing has changed. The desktop manager doesn't not recognize the device at all.
I'm using a Curve 8330. Is there anything I can do or am I screwed totally? Also, and I know this is a long shot, but what are the odds that I can restore the device and save the data that's on it?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have an 8530 with 1.5 free space that won't be recognized by my Windows Professional 7 600 G OS. I have uninstalled BB OS, re-installed it, and re-booted my computer several times, The driver won't be recognized by the computer. I've tried updating the driver, but it won't take. "Software for MTP USB device cannot start." On the device driver, the BB phone and USB composite device are working properly, but the "RIM MS/MTP won't start." So the whole device isn't recognized as a device on the system.
Under driver files for the device:
C:windowssystem 32DriveswpdMtpDr.dll
C:windowssystem32Driveswinusb.sys
[code]....
The driver won't show up in the computer, but the BB phone says, "File version 6.1.7600.16385. Win 7_rtm.090713-1255.Fortunately, I can sync my organizer data, but I can't transfer pictures or music.
Just got a brand new BB9360 as part of a product exchange plan. My old BB's track ball had worn out. Anyway, after 4 trips back and forth from the store I bought it from to work out OTHER problems (bad battery as it turned out) I finally have a phone that I know will work (saw them charge it in the store, from a computer). Now, I know for a fact that my USB cable and ports will support a BB device for charging and syncing with a computer. Both were working just fine on my old BB device which I had until last week. The USB ports in my desktop are all new, and my laptop is less than a year old, all its ports are fine. So far, I've been able to rule out virtually all of the possible issues that the device suggests. I have done a reset by pulling the battery. I have attempted to charge it via a wall outlet with a USB to AC adapter. Nothing at all happens. I plugged it into the computer, and it told me that it cannot charge the device and it recommended I install the Desktop Manager. Well, it was already on the computer. I installed the USB drivers on their own, I've tried all my ports on both computers.

Desktop software is 5.0.1 and Yes, I've tried the battery removal trick, spent hours on the phone with support. 5.0.1 won't even go past the "Before you begin, verify that your current Blackberry device is connected to your computer." At least earlier versions of DM let you clear that box so you could force it to recognize.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy curve 8330 has been showing a battery with a slash through it. At first I thought the battery was going bad. I would remove it and reposition - it would restart. Bought a new battery - seemed to do the trick. Now after a couple of weeks with new battery - the battery sign with / through it is appearing again and I can not seem to get to start up at all. I have plugged it in to the computer - it is recognized but still will not turn on.
