BB Curve 8300 :: Computer Recognized But Not Turn On
Aug 21, 2010
My curve 8330 has been showing a battery with a slash through it. At first I thought the battery was going bad. I would remove it and reposition - it would restart. Bought a new battery - seemed to do the trick. Now after a couple of weeks with new battery - the battery sign with / through it is appearing again and I can not seem to get to start up at all. I have plugged it in to the computer - it is recognized but still will not turn on.
I wanted to add some songs to my BlackBerry 8300.. Well, I plugged the cord into the device and then the computer, and for some reason, the BlackBerry is not being recognized when I click "computer" I tried restarting, shutting down, different usb ports and even different cable.
I have an 8530 with 1.5 free space that won't be recognized by my Windows Professional 7 600 G OS. I have uninstalled BB OS, re-installed it, and re-booted my computer several times, The driver won't be recognized by the computer. I've tried updating the driver, but it won't take. "Software for MTP USB device cannot start." On the device driver, the BB phone and USB composite device are working properly, but the "RIM MS/MTP won't start." So the whole device isn't recognized as a device on the system.
Under driver files for the device: C:windowssystem 32DriveswpdMtpDr.dll C:windowssystem32Driveswinusb.sys
[code]....
The driver won't show up in the computer, but the BB phone says, "File version 6.1.7600.16385. Win 7_rtm.090713-1255.Fortunately, I can sync my organizer data, but I can't transfer pictures or music.
Just got a brand new BB9360 as part of a product exchange plan. My old BB's track ball had worn out. Anyway, after 4 trips back and forth from the store I bought it from to work out OTHER problems (bad battery as it turned out) I finally have a phone that I know will work (saw them charge it in the store, from a computer). Now, I know for a fact that my USB cable and ports will support a BB device for charging and syncing with a computer. Both were working just fine on my old BB device which I had until last week. The USB ports in my desktop are all new, and my laptop is less than a year old, all its ports are fine. So far, I've been able to rule out virtually all of the possible issues that the device suggests. I have done a reset by pulling the battery. I have attempted to charge it via a wall outlet with a USB to AC adapter. Nothing at all happens. I plugged it into the computer, and it told me that it cannot charge the device and it recommended I install the Desktop Manager. Well, it was already on the computer. I installed the USB drivers on their own, I've tried all my ports on both computers.
I am running V4.5.0.110 on my phone, carrier is AT&T. Desktop software is 5.0.1 and Yes, I've tried the battery removal trick, spent hours on the phone with support. 5.0.1 won't even go past the "Before you begin, verify that your current Blackberry device is connected to your computer." At least earlier versions of DM let you clear that box so you could force it to recognize.
I have two issues here on my 8330.First one is from day one, when I connect to the laptop, the BB does not show up as a drive at all. All my other phones (not BB's) have shown up as a drive where I can open folders within and drag and drop. Why can I not do this with the BB?Most recently the device manager is not recognizing my phone either, I plug it in and it shows an error with the USB, saying the device is not recognized, and in the device manager, I have a yellow exclamation mark saying 'unknown device'.
I have researched these issues online and can't find anything that will solve either of my problems and I'm getting extremely frustrated. At this rate, I'm ready to get rid of the BB and go for something like the iphone if I can't get this working properly. Seems to be more trouble then it's worth
After battery pully and clearing cache: 33800486 Bytes
No computer in my home will detect my BB Curve 8330.
I have a Mac and a PC. I have tried both Desktop managers. My g/f has the exact phone and both computers and desktop managers will detect her phone. I have tried all posted solutions (clearing cache. hard reset, checked the mass storage device). Rebooted both computers. The one thing that my USB cable will do on my Mac is charge my phone. There is no "Do you want to enable mass storage... " when I plug it in to the Mac USB.
I had to get a new phone and am needing to tranfer 5 pictures that were accidentally saved to the device rather than the media card. I also have saved messages that I would like to transfer. How do I do this. I have downloaded the BB device manager to my computer and when I plug the device into the computer I can see the 5 pictures but once I unplug it they are gone.
I do not have a media card in my black berry 8310,therefore, I use the internal memory for pictures and stuff. When I plug my blackberry into the computer it recognizes that something was plugged into it but when I go to Computer to access the D: drive, my removable drive, the computer tells me to plug in a removable disk, yes whilst my blackberry is already plugged in, very frustrating. i dont understand why. Also i do not get a message on my phone to turn the mass storage on or off, i went to options and i have it on and tell my blackberry to prompt me also.if the first problem can be resolved and my computer can recognize my blackberry as a storage device, is it possible to recover any lost pictures off of my internal memory with recovery software?
I currently have a Blackberry 8330, v4.5.0.186 (Platform 3.4.0.59).I used to be prompted to delete emails off both my blackberry and my home computer's Windows Mail. I think after updating the Blackberry, this option was no longer available, which requires me to read emails on my Blackberry and then to have to delete them off my home computer.
Does anyone know of a way that I can restore this function to my Blackberry?
I connected my bb to the desktop manager on my brothers laptop. I then realised it was for his storm. The bb went off and wouldnt come back on. there is a red flashing light that flashes every 2 seconds or so. Just wondering if anyone can help
I am having problems with mass storage mode. When I connect my device and try to see the media using the music, pictures, or video buttons on the desktop manager it says I need to turn on mass storage mode however when I check the device settings under options/media card/ the settings are as follows:
Media Card Support ON Encryption Mode NONE Mass Storage Mode Support ON Auto Enable Mass Storage Mode When Connected YES I'm at a loss as to how to make this work as everything I read says the settings are correct.
Operating System WINDOWS 7 Pro Blackberry Desktop Ver 6.0.0.40 Blackberry Type Curve 8330 Device Software Ver 4.5.0.169
i was installing the update for blackberry app world when it was done i turned off my phone now it wont turn on but a red light flashes for about 15 seconds then goes off i plugged it in to my computer and it doesn't show up and charging it doesn't help either
Setting up my new iphone i also connected it to my computer (w7). while synching the computer shut down due to emtpy battery. Problem: now my computer does not recognise the iphone anymore nor does itunes. Yet it still recognises my ipad.
Running the latest DP build of WP 8.1 (8.10.12397.895) and, of course, would like to downgrade back to WP 8 so I can get the Cyan update.
Problem is that my phone is not being recognized on any computer I plug it into.
I've tried two Win 8.1 machines, a Win 2K12 and a Win 7. On all of them, I've completely uninstalled all of the Nokia software (three of the four machines had never had the software installed) and then reinstalled both the NSU and NSU for Retail. No go.
I did a reset on my phone. No go.
I removed both the SIM and the SD card. No go.
I've toggled the hidden USB settings on the phone. No go.
I've rebooted the phone upteen times. No go.
The phone is simply not being detected by the desktop OS and is not being installed on the computer.
I've tried everything I can think of to get this to work.
My iPhone 4 is not being recognized as a USB device by my computer, therefore I can't synch to iTunes. It is also not being recognized when I plug it into the USB port in my car, so it is something with the phone, not my PC. I have the latest iOS on the phone and everything was working fine until today.
it will not charge. I've been scouring the internet for the last few hours and have been trying to figure it out. I've cleaned out the charging area with a toothpick that I discovered on another board, i tried plugging it back in, it acts like it is going to "connect" but it will not charge, I get the little indicator that looks like a plugin but I still do not get any charge, i have tried two different chargers and nothing is working.
iphone 3g doesnt get recognized by my computer i have the upto date itunes an everytime i plug it in with the usb it comes up as "unknown Device" with a message saying that is has malfunctioned when i look into it further it says i need a driver so i try to get an update for the driver it says the software i already have shuld work but it doesnt so i read some where an i done a master reset to my iphone an now nothing its been nearly 3 hours an all that comes up is the white apple logo ive had a look at other suggestions to try fix it but hav come up with nothing it still switches on an off an the usb doesnt pick up the iphone at all an i dont get the message to say it doesnt recognize the device i dont get anything its just the apple logo i tryd pluging in my ipod to the itunes an got a responce
My Iphone 5s will not charge or sync when connected to my USB port on my laptop. I have an HP Envy17 jt-100 running on windows 8.1. I already checked the hardware and don't even see Apple Device anywhere on the drop down menus. When I run diagnostics itunes says no usb ports found when I have 4. I have already tried switching ports, resetting. I know its not the cord because the cord still works with my wall adapter.
Okay I have tried both A2 Uploader and JDFlasher to flash my W995 but it's not working the phone is not recognized at all by the computer.
Every time it enters memory transfer mode I have installed the Gordon's Gate Setup and I make sure of turning the phone off and holding C then the application will search for the phone nothing will happen
Then the application will give up looking for the phone and then the phone enters USB transfer mode.
So I think something on my USB port has malfunctioned... it won't show up in the device manager when I plug it in.I have tried the sticky thread on Diagnosing USB Driver and ADB issues in Windows. I have searched the forums and internet and tried lots of driver installs and restart this and that.
Recently this started when I wanted to flash Android 6.0 to my phone. During the install with NRT after each erase and flash it would say Waiting for device, and the only way I would get it to proceed was to plug the USB and plug it back in... Now running Android 6.0 it won`t even recognize my device and won`t pop up the menu to choose your usb connection setting.I have two Nexus 7, one Nexus 7 (2013), and another Nexus 5... and they all work fine and get recognized by the computer.
my apple sacreen showing the icon connect with itune i.e the phone is on recovery mode but does not connect with computer means not recognized in iTunes.
Iphone is not recognized by itunes or iphotos when i plug it computer (mac book air). Ipad sync is working though. Tried removing and reinstalling itunes, tried turning off and on mobile, restarted mac. nothing worked!
my iphone 4s will not charge or be recognized when plugged into the computer after the ios 5.1.1 software update why is this? i have used many usb cords also.
