View 4 RepliesMy curve 8330 has been showing a battery with a slash through it. At first I thought the battery was going bad. I would remove it and reposition - it would restart. Bought a new battery - seemed to do the trick. Now after a couple of weeks with new battery - the battery sign with / through it is appearing again and I can not seem to get to start up at all. I have plugged it in to the computer - it is recognized but still will not turn on.

If I check a message on the BB and mark it as read, then it is okay on the computer. But, if I open a message on the computer, it is still listed as unread on the BB. How can I fix this?
View 16 Replies View RelatedI have a Blackberry Curve 8300 I just got. I need to sync my Outlook Calendar information on my work computer. At work we are NO LONGER using Exchange Server. It gave up the ghost a couple of years ago for some unknown reason and there were not fixes available according to IT.Anyway, I connect the device but do not find applications that will work. No ali or alx files to be found. The whole reason I went to this phone was because it was supposed to work with Outlook from what I understood, and get email.

The Problem: How do I reconfigure the sync setting on a "grayed-out" Desktop Manager (DTM) v5.0.1? But please read on...when I updated my DTM from v4.3.0 to 5.0.1 I think I was asked how I wanted to set up my sync. I accidentally set up the sync guidelines to sync upon connection and my old settings on my previous DTM (v4.3.0) had a sync that went both ways. But what I really want to do is to reconfigure my sync settings to "One Way Sync FROM device (BB data --> laptop). I need to do this because all my data is on my BB device and is not on my laptop due to a hard drive crash on my laptop. I will lose years of data if I do not sync in the proper direction. On the "grayed-out" DTM I cannot click on anything to change the sync settings. I just keep getting the DTM message, "Before you begin, verify that your current BlackBerry device is connected to your computer". But if I connect my BB device with the computer, I am afraid the sync may not go in the correct direction that I require and I will lose my data. I am a new user to the setup process and would really appreciate a step-by-step approach from start to finish to solve this issue. Your suggestions will be most appreciated and I thank you in advance.
I do not have a media card in my black berry 8310,therefore, I use the internal memory for pictures and stuff. When I plug my blackberry into the computer it recognizes that something was plugged into it but when I go to Computer to access the D: drive, my removable drive, the computer tells me to plug in a removable disk, yes whilst my blackberry is already plugged in, very frustrating. i dont understand why. Also i do not get a message on my phone to turn the mass storage on or off, i went to options and i have it on and tell my blackberry to prompt me also.if the first problem can be resolved and my computer can recognize my blackberry as a storage device, is it possible to recover any lost pictures off of my internal memory with recovery software?

When I connect my device and try to see the media using the music, pictures, or video buttons on the desktop manager it says I need to turn on mass storage mode however when I check the device settings under options/media card/ the settings are as follows:
Media Card Support ON
Encryption Mode NONE
Mass Storage Mode Support ON
Auto Enable Mass Storage Mode When Connected YES
I'm at a loss as to how to make this work as everything I read says the settings are correct.

Blackberry Curve 8330
Recently I upgraded my Desktop Manager to Version 6.0.0.40 and now I can't transfer media files to my Curve 8330.One thing I tried was to update my device OS to 4.5.0.175, this did not work.The DM shows that Media Options are not available,that I have to trun on mass storage mode from the device.Under the options menu on my 8330, I open Media Card and sure enough Media Card Support is On, Mass Storage Support is On, and Auto Enable Mass Storage Mode is On (I've tried when I switch to Prompt, but that did not work either).I've removed the media card, reinserted it, reformatted it, made sure it was recognized by my device (it is), so obviously the problem is with the Desktop Manager. With previous versions, I had no problems with Media Sync, only with the new DM version. The DM will recognize my device when plugged in via USB and I can sync my Organizer with no issues.What else can I try to get my DM - Media Sync to work with my 8330?
I am trying to Sync My blackberry 8330 Phone with MS Outlook 2010 Beta. I can not Sync to any part of MS Outlook (Calendar, E-Mail, etc) I always get the same error message "No available Message Stores". Does anyone know what is causing this or how to fix it.

I have an 8310 that has been syncing just fine wtih my MC Outlook 2007 calendar (on XP SP3) - until the last week. I have changed nothing that I know of - other than a month+ ago, updated the BB device to the current, but it was still working fine after that upgrade.Last week my entries that I had in my outlook synced to my BB, but were then delted from outllook and I can not get them to sync back to outlook. I have changed the sync settings to sync to one-way and two-way - nothing seems to get them back to my outlook.I have just tried updating destop manager to 5.0.1.37 - still nothing.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am new to Blackberry desktop manager for mac. It is all set up and first sync is done without a problem. Now when I try to sync, I get a message that over 600 of my past calendar items will be deleted if I continue with sync. I need to keep previous calendar items, is there a way to solve this problem and not delete past events? I am sorry for asking this question, I am just new and very unsure of what I am doing. I had used missing sync before, but when my blackberry had to be replaced, new blackberry wouldn't work so I wanted to try desktop manager.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI recieved my Curve 8520 6 days ago and I am still waiting on my service provider contacting me about the Blackberry Tariff HOWEVER when setting up my phone using the Wizard Setup I did not have two options for the email setup, only Enterprise Email Activation...I have never had one, this is my first Blackberry. How do I apply the other option of Add An Email Address? Or does this mean that the phone has been used by someone else (even though it was bought from my service provider "brand new"), or a fault has arisen? What can be done?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm a BB newbie but recently received one for work. My problem is trying to transfer the contacts from my old cell phone (Sanyo SCP-7050) to my new Curve 8330. I took it to my local Sprint store and they said the contacts can't be transferred because the BB is registered on a BES. The Bluetooth connection won't work either, I assume for the same reason.Am I out of luck or is there some other way I can get the contacts into my BB? I have the contacts stored as individual business card files (.vcf) and was hoping there is a way to use the micro SD card to load them on somehow.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter trying 3 days to get my BB 8310 Curve connected to my network provider (I do have a data plan and internet plan) Im a little bit upset.
The problem: I have all necessary data-plans and also registered my BB on the internet at the Web-Page (BIS?).Ok, my handheld is also recognised and the system doesnt complain.But: on my handheld I can see only the word "edge" (in small letters - this shows that no data-plan is active as we know, but thats not true) and not "EDGE" as it should be.An even better suspicicous issue: I called with the hotline from my provider and he also could see within his database that my handheld is registered and all plans were active.
So I tried following:
I inserted my SIM to another BB and it worked! (not so with my BB)
I also inserted another SIM from my colleague (who also uses a BB) and what happened? Nothing - also no connection.
So I assume that theres somehow a bug in my handheld? Has anybody an idea? I would very appreciate it.
By the way, I have the latest OS:
Package Version: 4.5.0.312
Consisting of:
* Applications: 4.5.0.187
* Software Platform: 2.7.0.109
I've been trying to update my phone for about 2 hrs now and i can't seem to get it to work. I've updated my desktop to v5.0, but everytime i click the link on the website it tells me i have the current version. i checked under "about" and i have v. 4.5.0.175. HOW DO I GET V5.0? oh and i have verizon if that matters.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI've noticed this a couple of times with different contacts on Blackberry Messenger: I send them a message and it gets marked D for delivered. It then shortly thereafter is marked "A" for answered, and I receive a response to my message, all which makes sense. But sometimes I've noticed that my message is marked A, as if they've answered me, but I never receive a message back. Does this mean that they answered me and I just never received the message? That they've received my message and ended the conversation?Just wanting to understand why my message would be marked A when it doesn't appear to have been answered. any ideas?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a 8350i through Nextel. A couple of weeks ago my BB shut itself off and then turned itself back on. I did not think much of it until it started happening very frequently. When I say frequently, I mean every 10 minutes. Quite frustrating for a phone that I use for work. I took it to a local service department but they did not know what was going on so they just swiped the software and reloaded it. This resolved the issue for about 24 hours and then it has started again. It was sporadic again with about a day between each one but it has since become a very frequent issue again. It is happening about 5 times a day that I know of.I am currently running Version 4.6.1.313.
