I wanted to add some songs to my BlackBerry 8300.. Well, I plugged the cord into the device and then the computer, and for some reason, the BlackBerry is not being recognized when I click "computer" I tried restarting, shutting down, different usb ports and even different cable.

My curve 8330 has been showing a battery with a slash through it. At first I thought the battery was going bad. I would remove it and reposition - it would restart. Bought a new battery - seemed to do the trick. Now after a couple of weeks with new battery - the battery sign with / through it is appearing again and I can not seem to get to start up at all. I have plugged it in to the computer - it is recognized but still will not turn on.

Im running windows 7 and i wanna update his phone whenever i connect it to my laptop it doesnt even recognize it same with his computer, I beleive its something with the phone is there anways to update the os thru putting it on a memory card or fixing this issue, the phones been wiped before different usb chords used so its not that, i my self can connect my bb 8900 to my laptop flawlessly, i also have a bluetooth but still, doesnt work, do i need drivers maybe? i have dm 5.0.1.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI installed the BB desktop manager for Mac yesterday, and this morning connected to remove some apps, create some space, and install all the updates. In the process of this it mysteriously just stopped doing anything right after it said "database cannot be backed up" and shut off. Now it's flashing red twice, pausing for about 2 seconds, and repeating the flashing. I pulled the battery and sim even though I was sure that wouldn't do anything, plugged it back into my laptop, plugged it into the wall both with and without the battery, and nothing has changed. The desktop manager doesn't not recognize the device at all.
I'm using a Curve 8330. Is there anything I can do or am I screwed totally? Also, and I know this is a long shot, but what are the odds that I can restore the device and save the data that's on it?

I recently got a new Lenovo T410 laptop, running Windows 7. I have downloaded the DM software (v5.0.1) and verified that my device SW is up-to-date, but the laptop is still not recognizing that the device is connected (via USB). I've tried it in all the USB ports on the laptop, and also followed all the steps detailed in KB13146, with no luck. I can't find anything in any of the forums that reference Windows 7. Can anyone provide help to resolve this problem?

I have an 8530 with 1.5 free space that won't be recognized by my Windows Professional 7 600 G OS. I have uninstalled BB OS, re-installed it, and re-booted my computer several times, The driver won't be recognized by the computer. I've tried updating the driver, but it won't take. "Software for MTP USB device cannot start." On the device driver, the BB phone and USB composite device are working properly, but the "RIM MS/MTP won't start." So the whole device isn't recognized as a device on the system.

The driver won't show up in the computer, but the BB phone says, "File version 6.1.7600.16385. Win 7_rtm.090713-1255.Fortunately, I can sync my organizer data, but I can't transfer pictures or music.
Just got a brand new BB9360 as part of a product exchange plan. My old BB's track ball had worn out. Anyway, after 4 trips back and forth from the store I bought it from to work out OTHER problems (bad battery as it turned out) I finally have a phone that I know will work (saw them charge it in the store, from a computer).Now, I know for a fact that my USB cable and ports will support a BB device for charging and syncing with a computer. Both were working just fine on my old BB device which I had until last week. The USB ports in my desktop are all new, and my laptop is less than a year old, all its ports are fine. So far, I've been able to rule out virtually all of the possible issues that the device suggests. I have done a reset by pulling the battery. I have attempted to charge it via a wall outlet with a USB to AC adapter. Nothing at all happens. I plugged it into the computer, and it told me that it cannot charge the device and it recommended I install the Desktop Manager. Well, it was already on the computer. I installed the USB drivers on their own, I've tried all my ports on both computers.

Desktop software is 5.0.1 and Yes, I've tried the battery removal trick, spent hours on the phone with support. 5.0.1 won't even go past the "Before you begin, verify that your current Blackberry device is connected to your computer." At least earlier versions of DM let you clear that box so you could force it to recognize.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have two issues here on my 8330.First one is from day one, when I connect to the laptop, the BB does not show up as a drive at all. All my other phones (not BB's) have shown up as a drive where I can open folders within and drag and drop. Why can I not do this with the BB?Most recently the device manager is not recognizing my phone either, I plug it in and it shows an error with the USB, saying the device is not recognized, and in the device manager, I have a yellow exclamation mark saying 'unknown device'.
I have researched these issues online and can't find anything that will solve either of my problems and I'm getting extremely frustrated. At this rate, I'm ready to get rid of the BB and go for something like the iphone if I can't get this working properly. Seems to be more trouble then it's worth

Recently I upgraded my computer to Windows 7 from Vista.Now, the computer doesn't recognize my BB, and Desktop Mgr doesnt *find* the BB when plugged in. No computer in my home will detect my BB Curve 8330.
I have a Mac and a PC. I have tried both Desktop managers. My g/f has the exact phone and both computers and desktop managers will detect her phone. I have tried all posted solutions (clearing cache. hard reset, checked the mass storage device). Rebooted both computers. The one thing that my USB cable will do on my Mac is charge my phone. There is no "Do you want to enable mass storage... " when I plug it in to the Mac USB.
I had to get a new phone and am needing to tranfer 5 pictures that were accidentally saved to the device rather than the media card. I also have saved messages that I would like to transfer. How do I do this. I have downloaded the BB device manager to my computer and when I plug the device into the computer I can see the 5 pictures but once I unplug it they are gone.

When I plug my blackberry into the computer it recognizes that something was plugged into it but when I go to Computer to access the D: drive, my removable drive, the computer tells me to plug in a removable disk, yes whilst my blackberry is already plugged in, very frustrating. i dont understand why. Also i do not get a message on my phone to turn the mass storage on or off, i went to options and i have it on and tell my blackberry to prompt me also.if the first problem can be resolved and my computer can recognize my blackberry as a storage device, is it possible to recover any lost pictures off of my internal memory with recovery software?

I think after updating the Blackberry, this option was no longer available, which requires me to read emails on my Blackberry and then to have to delete them off my home computer.
Does anyone know of a way that I can restore this function to my Blackberry?
I was given a BB Curve 8310 to attempt a repair. When I attach the USB cable to the BB the system tray does not pop up with a notification that says "found new hardware" like it normally does when you plug a BB in. When the phone boots up it displays error msg " JVM Error 513". I attempted to looking into the device by using "cracmem" and "JL_Cmder" and no data is to be found and thus there is nothing to wipe. I suspect that the device has already been wiped thus the no data. I have pulled the battery from the phone and reinstalled; unplugged the usb cable during the BB boot process and nothing is happening. The DM application loader will not allow me to procede due to computer not recognizing the BB device thus it is not generating the "USB:UNKNOWN".

Hour it wasn't the phone, so I thought about it and said my midi recorder and ipod cord wouldn't connect. So came home and clean my computer and uninstalled programs that I wasn't using. So after an hour of that it still wouldn't pop up, so I also uninstalled my usb drivers and still result. So I believe its my usb cord so imma try another cord when I get paid. I'm running vista and tried the DM and everything.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI plugged my 8330 in my computer to charge and it just shut off immediately.... now i cant get it to turn on... the red led comes on and then shuts off, the screen flashes white for a moment, then the led comes on again, and it repeats this cycle... it has turned on once since its been doing this and i tried to plug it into my computer to back it up, but it just shut off again and its been doing the cycle ever since. i already have a new phone i just need the numbers and stuff from my old one.... if anyone knows what might be happening please help me out.... i cant plug in the phone because when i do it shuts off.... im going to have to back it up using bluetooth. btw i can completely dissasemble the phone if necessary, its just a pile of junk right now anyway... all i want is my phone numbers from it so anyway u think i might be able to get it to turn, and yes... i have tried pulling the battery

My iPhone 4 suddenly stopped charging via ANY charge medium, connected directly to USB port with adapter, via an iHome-like stereo, nor will it work in a wall charger. Also, neither a Mac (10.7) nor will a Win 7 computer with updated iTunes recognize it. Every time I connect it I get a message "USB device not recognized and has malfunctioned..." I have already changed the battery out (it was already out of warranty) still not charging or being recognized.
