Mar 26, 2012Yesterday morning I left my phone In the bathroom whilst having a shower,unfortunately I thnink the phone got water inside the keys and stopped working since. I still receive messages and pings, but can't seen to acess the unlocking stage of my phone and can't pick up the calls, I have constantly rebooted and taken the battery out so many times and got the same outcome. Does anybody know what I should try, it had been a day, I heard the rice trick works but I'm not sure

Oct 20, 2012I recently bought a 9360 Model REM71UW which came with no BIS,Friday morning I purchased this BIS and I received a message instructing me to remove and re-insert the battery in order for some files to be loaded.After I've done that first my trackpad would'nt respond and later all the keys now the phone is black in screen even though its on.I've tried almost every advice i saw in this support forum to no avail.

Apr 19, 2012The screen goes black after the backlight comes on but the light does not return. Everything is functioning like I get notifications, I receive calls and bbm's but the thing is I can't check them because the screen is black. There is static as well at the top but it it is black and blurry, sometimes I could see the name of the service provider as well as the battery icon.What would work sometimes is if I do a battery pull but that is rare. Also if I lock the screen then wait a while and then press any button between the end call and receive it would come back on. But that is becoming rare as well. The system on the phone is full functional but its the screen that stays black.Sometimes if I'm lucky it would go away and I would be able to use the screen. But when that happens I would have to constantly be pressing a button to keep the phone active so it does not go on backlight setting from inactivity. U can imagine how annoying that is huh?

Sep 11, 2013My 1020's FFC has been working fine until yesterday when I tried to use the FFC and it just showed a black screen and you couldn't press any buttons on the screen, I just had to go back to the home screen to do anything else. The regular camera is working fine. Proximity sensor seems to working fine as well. I have done a soft reset with no luck, about to do a hard reset... It's not a huge deal but I do like my phone to be working at 100%!

Jun 1, 2012My phone keeps emailing and calling random people from my contacts, because I am carrying it in my back pocket. The phone is very easily unlocked accidentally as the unlock button sits on top of it, sticking out of the holster. I have even tried placing it upward down into the holster but it still easily unlocks through the holster.
What is the most efficient way to keep the the device locked for back pocket storage? I could set up a password, but as the number of bad password inputs is obviously limited, I also do not want to have accidental password input.
Is there a way to deactivate the unlock button on top and use a key combination instead? Or anything else?

Jul 29, 2010I just bought a brand new blackberry curve 8900 and i've noticed that the keyboard backlight won't come on. I've read its supposed to detect dim light and turn on, on its own but I can be in a pitch black room and it wont turn on. Also i read that if you cover the led indicator light it should come on, tried that and it didn't work. I also went to the keypad and display settings and turned diming off and pretty much no matter what I do I can't get the backlight to turn on.

Dec 17, 2011I press the A key and get a message "Keypad is locked. Press the Mute button to unlock". The keypad remains locked, even in my pocket. However, I recently purchased a leather pouch to protect the phone and as soon as I start to push the phone into the case it unlocks. I have removed the battery and done a reboot to no avail. Paid £20 so don't want to abandon it yet.

My "lock keypad" button on the top left of my device has been broken for a while so I've gotten used to locking the keyboard by holding down the * key and unlocking it by hitting * and Send. Jul 19, 2011i'm using a curve 8520 on 0S5.My letter 'A' in the keyboard suddenly won't work properly.. Just a soft touch and it would appear automatically... in Uppercase. Because of this, i am having a hard time when typing. i copy paste the lower case 'a' so typing would be easy.Also, since the 'lock' is also in that key, my phone would always lock automatically and with that... my phone seems to go 'off' and i would have to longpress any key so it would come alive again.i tried the application clean-up thing in the desktop manager as @BlackberryHelp tweeted me when i asked them about this but still there are no changes.. i also tried putting a tissue in the back of the metal plate thing.
