I have a blackberry curve 8520 with OS 5
All of a sudden the keys stopped working, no matter what i press nothing happens, only the trackpad is working. It happend out of nowhere, i didnt drop it or get it wet, so i have no idea how or why this is happening.

View 9 Replies View RelatedAll of a sudden, my letter "e/2" stopped working. i did a battery pull, and that did nothing, so i did a restore on my phone. this resulted in none of my buttons reponding or taking 10mins (no joke!) to respond. it has also wiped all my contacts aswell.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have pulled the battery out many times. I have turned off the power many times. But when I click the roller ball when I want to say click on SMS my wife or who ever it goes to "Add speed dial". Then on the key pad when I hit delete it will type two letters, and some of the other keys do the same thing. And it comes and goes. Do I need to update my phone or is it broken and I need to get a hold of my insurance company to get a new one. I don't want to spend $50 if I do not have too.

I think, I know a lot of you can relate because this seems to be a very popular problem...Bout a week ago my bb randomly started messin me about, first the 'L' key along with the 'alt' key and then also the 'A' key, they were stuttering, typing on there own, sometimes wouldn't work at all, they would even pop up when I typed a different key! also there would be times were my phone would freeze and I'd have to hold down a button for roughly 10 seconds to get a response, also all buttons including mute, side buttons, keypad etc.. would stop working all together, only track bar would work but I could only scroll, I also cannot use my phone whilst chargers in, on rare occasions my phone fixes itself, then brakes around 5-10 mins later

And about 4 days ago, I just get dead button on C (for erase character) and the next day it just get worse. Another dead buttons on left button (option), Green button (call) and Red button (ended call). Not sure why it happen.
I found in the internet forum for the same problem but not solved. Also I have friend with same phone type and problem, bring to Sony Ericsson service and they have fix it. But the problem just back in next few days. They said the problem is on the flexible. I can't make a call with it.

Two times over the weekend my Bionic has gotten to a point where the phone's power buttons nor any of the other buttons would respond. There was only the green indicator blinking on the front of the phone and it seemed to be frozen. I waited around 10 minutes and tried pressing the power button again, holding it down and pressing it repeatedly. Nothing. I did a battery pull on the phone and when I booted it back up it seemed to work.

I turned it on to find that it turned on in safe mode. I took out the battery to reboot it in normal mode, and from then on none of the keypad buttons work. It is also still in safe mode. The touchscreen does work, but nothing else. I have taken out the battery multiple times to try and fix it but it doesn't work.

It's very difficult to take out the phone from your pocket and then adjust the volume or change the track unless you have put on the handsfree. Please let me know if there is any fix for this.

Given to repair at blackberry service center after n number of follow ups got a reply that the mother board is damaged as it has been exposed to water.
