Xperia PLAY :: In Safe Mode And Only Buttons Work - Screen Not Responding
Jul 23, 2012
My xperia play had just been repaired and I left in in my bag for 2 hours just now. I can't unlock my phone, it says safe mode and only the buttons are working. The screen is not responding to my touch.
I bought my xperia play about a year ago. All of a sudden it has been acting up . I first noticed that my menu button wasn't working, so i switched it off and on again, it turned on in safe mode (still with the menu button still not working) with all of my downloaded apps greyed out. I thought it might have been an app acting up so i uninstalled them all. Alas no luck, now even if i am to download an app, and install it it doesn't even appear anywhere on my phone.
I picked up my phone three days ago to find it had turned itself off, it had only been in my bag and then next to me on the floor. I turned it on to find that it turned on in safe mode. I took out the battery to reboot it in normal mode, and from then on none of the keypad buttons work. It is also still in safe mode. The touchscreen does work, but nothing else. I have taken out the battery multiple times to try and fix it but it doesn't work.
I woke up this morning to find that the screen on my Xperia Play had stopped working. However, after a couple of restarts it began working again.
Now when the screen stopped working I began to panic as I am awaiting a phone call about my start date for a new job.
So when the phone screen was temporarily not working, I slid out the game pad to see if it was possible to unlock the phone and enter the pin unlock for my sim card by using the PS keys and dPad.
Successfully, by pressing a combination of the MENU button and another button I actually got to the screen which required me to enter my pin - from which I could have done successfully using the dPad and 'x' button.
Unfortunately, before I got to enter my pin the screen locked and I didn't quite catch the key combination in order to get back to the same pin unlock screen.
My handsets screen is not responding to any form of touch, it was was working then mid use just stopped. The screen still works displaying everything and is refreshing. Using the slide I can access some things but its very limited access.
the buttons at the bottom of the phone seem to stop working this has happened a few times now is this a normal thing or is already showing it's faults?
My xperia neo was working fine all night then suddenly it acts weird like it doesnt open up apps, then qwerty keyboard always popping up. When it gallery it keeps on flashing many options. Then, i noticed that it's already in safe mode because of the safe mode message at the system tray. I wanted to get rid of safe mode so i tried updating software using pc companion, restarting it, removing the battery, and also i did a factory reset. Same thing i'm still in safe mode! Does it means that there is already something wrong with this mobile phone? How should i get out of safe mode?
I've seen that on some other Xperia phones, you hold down the menu button as the phone boots, but the Ray doesn't have a hard menu button so.... I tried holding the home button, then the volume buttons, and neither worked. Is there a way to boot the Ray into safe mode?
Xperia Z5 won't load into safe mode. Tried connecting through the micro USB cable, while holding down the power off button, and up volume key, it vibrates 3 times, but does nothing.
I've tried 3 different methods, but I can't seem to get it to work.
I've not unlocked my phone, or done anything its a standard Z5 Compact, no bootloader unlocked, or custom kernal etc installed.
I am using Z3 Dual and yesterday I was with friends for a picninc and while using the video mode it was showing the message that the camera temperature is going high and will shut down automatically. My main concern is not that, I used the phone in water (maximum 30 -50 cm depth) for 2-3 times and after that my sim both card was not working ( was not showing the signal bars) and friends tried to call me and came switch off. Then I restarted the mobile then the sim card start working and the mobile was on Safe Mode. I tried to restart the mobile many times and still the problem exixts. Then I tried one option which I found in the web, i pressed the power buttern and when the vibration comes I pressed the vlume up button. I tried this option for severeal times, but the mobile is still in Safe Mode.
I had issues with the power button on my phone and had to hard reset it. It rebooted in safe mode and so I reset the phone and then deleted all of my apps.
I tried to reboot again to take it out of safe mode but it just stays in safe mode. I can't download any of my apps anymore.
I had to do some bug hunting, and found out that after reboot from safe mode pinned widgets (here: Sony calendar, Sony Gallery, WeatherPro) were gone, and dropbox account was deleted. I've read in this forum, the phone (Z5P, btw.) will return into normal operation mode after reboot, but this is not the case.
My xperia-play has been updated to Android 2.3.3 by pc companion from 2.3.2, however, the "home screen" is still upright↑ instead of horizontal ↔ if I circumvolve the phone. In Sony Ericsson the new update will give : New themes and Landscape mode for your home screen. I don't get them.
I'm having lots of trouble with my Xperia x10 mini pro. It is somehow stuck in a reset loop, it starts in safe mode, is locked and won't allow me to press any buttons at all. Once it is turned on i have to remove the battery to turn it off. My warranty has run out for this phone now but I do like it and don't currently have the money to get a new one really.
If set up my house as a safe location so I wouldn't have to unlock with code when I'm at home, but it doesn't work. How can I get it to work? It is set up at the right address, are there any other settings I should look in to?
I've a one yr old xperia play. It worked fine until I installed Temple run few days back. My phone would not respond to the touchscreen when I try unlocking it, but it would respond once I slide the joypad, press power button once or twice etc. But after few days, this became worse and now even the Home button became unresponsive. The current situation is that I cannot unlock my phone as the touchscreen is not responding at all.
When this problem started, I had checked the running services to ensure whether there were any malicious programs taking up CPU usage. I could not find any.
Sony Experia play, the home/standby button will still send the phone to standby but it will not wake the phone, i had to use the slide to activate the phone from sleep but now that has stop working. The phone is on and somebody can ring or text (Rings and vibrates) but the screen does not respond. Once in a blue moon it will work fine, then other times i can sit for 20 minutes pressing and sliding for the phone and screen to wake up. I have tried factory reset etc but to no avail.
I was talking face time, and my screen went gray and is now locked in that position. None of the buttons work. The phone has been plugged into the charger for the last twenty minutes. Nothing works.
My iPhone 4 on/ off button won't work so I can't re-set my phone. Been told i need new one but trying to hold out for new iphobe! Now the touchscreen won't work only in mail, and the screen is darker in mail than everythinguch else.
I accidently drop my phone to water, try to dry it. It was okay, then it started do weird thing w/o any touch. And i shut it down, when i started it,it went to bootloader screen, locked. My volume buttons doesnt work so i cant factory reset, and cant do fastboot. When i shut it down, then restart the same thing. Boot menu, buttons dont do ****,stuck here. I think it's becuse of water, but why buttons dont work ?
My iPhone 5s touch screen is not working and I have tried the soft restart method still not working. When I do the apple logo pops up and behind it is a black screen with red and blue vertical lines. The screen is not damaged and never been dropped. The day it happens was when I was charging the phone and when I got back it the touch was gone and wouldn't respond, I also found it dropped and was hanging on the side of my table, or maybe it short circuit for some reason. All the buttons work, the finger scanner, the on/off button. Also the phone needs the password because I tried the soft reset and now I can't unlock it since it won't respond to my touch. So how can I fix this or is it able to be fixed? I received the iPhone early January and does the warranty apply to my situation? As well as go to an Apple store, for .
