BB Curve :: Keep Locking And Unlocking Several Times?
Apr 11, 2011
Device info Your carrier: T-Mobile Model info and OS version: Curve 8900 and Blackberry OS v4.6.1.231
Apps and free space Did a battery pull fix your issue? Temporarily Apps installed and their version if possible: No apps because I do not have internet on the phone
When writing your question Good description of what is really wrong and how to reproduce if possible. Details of what you did before:
I didn't do anything to it but before the speaker would fuzz in and out of call and then it started doing that permanently. Afterwards my phone just started to lock and unlock several times before it ultimately locked me out even after I tried to press the unlock button. I tried pulling out the battery several times and it alleviates the symptoms for about 3 minutes and it goes right back to locking and unlocking again.
Each time I press the lock button or I hold the A key, the display automatically turns off and the phone is locked. I cannot check the time on the phone or see if I have any new messages without unlocking it, checking, then relocking it again.
This may seem really miniscule but on my old hanset when the phone was locked if you pressed and of the buttons on the keypad the screen would light up, not unlock, and i could check the time or whatever.
I recently upgraded to a new BlackBerry Curve 9320 smartphone in about September 2012. Recently it is acting all faulty. It keeps locking and unlocking itself. The trackpad gets stuck and will not scroll but then will scroll in some apps or menus. Is it a software or hardware fault? What can I do to sort it out?
i want to unlock Sony Ericson xperia pro (mk16i) to install custom roms But i m worried about warranty issue...Is relocking boot loader of my device Mk16i recovers warranty?
Every time i end a call, i can see the phone is allways doing something else, like browsing the web, or opening the gps aplication. Last but not list, for several times and unexpectedly i hold the call, or i end it by mistake.
I'm sure this happens because i keep telling it to do it (with my face touching the screen, during the calls!!!)
The phone have those 3 physical buttons on the bottom, (the red one, the green one and the menu one) and lets face it, those are the same 3 buttons existing in all nokia non-touchscreen phones).
So, two questions:
a) With those 3 buttons, why do i need the touch screen during a call??
b) Is there any option or aplication or trick to automatically lock the screen on the moment i start a call (incoming or outgoing) and unlock it when i end the call?
My LG G3 (LS990 model, if that matters) decided it was going to just turn off its screen for a half hour or so. I thought the battery had died or become disconnected, so I pulled the battery, put it back in, and plugged it in to charge. I came back to my phone's screen going haywire. It's locking and unlocking itself repeatedly inside the time of a single second. The sensor that I've noticed sometimes gets blocked and turns the screen off is clear, the battery is fully charged, and the screen is unresponsive. Is there anything I can do, or am I out the cost of the phone?
confirm if my phone would 'brick' or not if I used official Sony software to repair...I used the online service Da Vinci to unlock my bootloader...so if I use SEUS or PC Companion now...will it brick? How do I relock bootloader safely if I need to repair via SEUS? Would it be better for me to relock the bootloader then unlock properly via Sony? I did pay for the Da Vinci service, so I'm not in a rush to make a mistake! I'm planning ahead for the ICS update and just in case I want to reverse to 2.3.
i recently upgraded my x10i to android 2.1, everytime i press the power button to lock the screen it disconnect me from my network, no service message appears, so everytime i press the power button again to unlock the screen i have to enter my pincode and reconnect again, hence, i dont recieve any messages and calls whenever i lock the screen or when screen times out?
I just started noticing that when I hit the power button on my N6 and it shuts off I hear a popping sound. I also hear it not when I swipe up and put in the pattern lock I have, but when the phone unlocks after that when the homescreen comes up. Is this Normal? I swear I didn't hear it before.
I have been having issues with my screen locking up after the screen times out and shuts off or when I turn the screen off. This dosent happen every time but at least once or twice a day. The power button will turn screen on and off but the screen is totally unresponsive to my inputs. I have tried factory resting it to no avail.
I've just recently starting having this issue with my SMS where a particular thread of SMS's gets "locked" up. That is, I'll get a message, but I can't open it. Doesn't matter if I try opening it using the enter key, the trackball, or by using menu then open. The only way I open them is by having to do a battery pull. Has anyone else had this issue?
I recently installed Blackberry Protect on my Curve. Prior to install, my phone never locked and required a password at backlight timeout. Now the phone locks and requires me to input a password to use the phone. I would like to remove this locking requirement without removing Blackberry protect.
My Curve 8900 has started to lock on it's own. Sometimes it happens when I'm typing an email or text, sometimes it happens when I'm waiting for a browser page to upload. Initially I thought it might be a particular keystroke I was hitting but it has happened when I'm simply holding the device and not typing at all. Has anyone had this problem or does anyone know how to fix it?
I have had my BB 8330 for almost a year now, and just recently, it's starting locking up OFTEN. Almost daily. It will lock up if I take a picture sometimes - it takes so long to save it, I have to do a battery pull. It also locks up when I go to my Facebook Application sometimes, and also if I try to SEND a photo to an MMS address, it will lock up then too. I did notice an "uncaught exception - memory full" error message just today - probably because I let the "locking up" run quite a time and didn't pull the battery yet. If this is the problem, what is my fix? Too many pics on the memory card? Too many apps installed? Too many emails in my inbox? I'm completely clueless.
I am frustrated popping my hard case off daily - which is wearing out the "tightness" of my case, and it's pretty hard to get off!
My blackberry curve 9330 keeps locking up everytime i go to text or anything i get that clock in the center and it takes forever to do anything, this just started happening today, it was working fast and fine before !!!
I have an old Curve 8520 which I only just recently updated to OS 5. Like the title says, my device "locks up" after a while of not pressing any buttons, even when I'm using the scroll pad. The thing is, I would still be able to scroll around the screen with the scroll pad but will not be able to select anything or type any letters. The phone doesn't totally freeze though as I can "unlock" it by pressing and holding the power button for about a second in which case it goes to the home screen and interrupts whatever I was doing.
I dust discovered pressing and holding ANY button "unlocks" the phone.
i would like to know if there is a way, with the phone by itself or with any app, to auto lock the keyboard. In any nokia phone (the old ones, not smartphones) you can set it to auto lock after X seconds you didnt use the phone. Thats what I need. The thing is, i have the phone locked in my pocket. I recieve a call, I answer it, and when I finish, the phone stay unlocked. I forguet to lock it again, put in my pocket, and hell unleashes (phone calls, messages, and more without wanting). So, I want my phone to lock itself after 15 sefonds in stand by. And to stay locked after i recieve a call.

I recently upgraded my BB to the newest software available 5.0.0.1030, and in doing so lost a little bit of functionality. Mainly, I used the "Left" Shortcut Key on my Curve to "lock" the keypad. Also, when I wanted to unlock the keypad, I could hit any key on the keyboard, then hit star and send to unlock it.
Since the update, I've noticed that there's no way to bind the left shortcut key to locking the keyboard - it doesn't exist anymore. While I can still lock it by pushing and holding A, the left-shortcut-button was instant.
Next, I also notice that to unlock it, I now have to push the mute button the top of the phone. Since my phone is placed in my pocket, I've actually (several times over the last week) inadvertently hit the mute button by mistake, releasing the keypad and actually pocket dialing someone!
I tried to revert to the old operating system using my BB desktop software, which is the 5.0.0.654, but the keypad lock/unlock seems to remain unchanged.
Is there a way to make it look like the way I opened it up from the box again?
I have a BB Curve 8520. I use password to protect my phone. But, now the phone is locked and when I'm entering the password, the characters are being visible which does not normally happen.I don't wish to format my phone as am not sure if I have backed up my data or not.
my curve 8520 keeps unlocking itself! i usually lock it by holding in the lock/* button, then have to press the top mute button to unlock - but it's just unlocking itself!
when I unlock my phone I have to press the * key and the green cann button, I was wondering if there's a way to change it so I can press the mute button ontop of my phone to lock and unlock it, I know it sounds weird but I'm used to doing it that way on my old phones.
I purchased a BlackBerry 9320 last week, and at the start of this week the phone started to unlock itself when ever it wanted, even if it was on the table and not being touched. I restored the phone to its factory defaults and this has made no difference in trying to resolve the problem.
I havn't used my bb since i left t-mobile about a year ago. i would like to unlock it to use a different carrier. I forgot my password to unlock it and. well i got scrubbed. What do i do from here. The network MEP code i had to buy to unlock the phone wont work and i only have 5 attempts left on that. I've e-mailed that website about the situation, just thought someone here might know whats happened to my bb and why i get an error code.
I am using 8520 curve I have set left side to to lock the keypad. When I updated the phone I lost the shortcut for locking the keypad. When I tried setting it up from option/screen/keyboard, I could not find option to set left side key to shortcut.
I bought a Blackberry 9300 Curve (3G) at the end of August, with OS 6 on Tesco Mobile. Over time it has developed the problem that it will not always unlock when I press mute, so I have to do a battery pull or wait at least ten minutes before it actually lets me unlock and use the device. Literally what happens is I press the mute button and the device remains completely locked, really irritating when I have the LED flashing at me too! It mainly happens when I'm messaging someone a lot, so locking and unlocking really frequently.
I am in the process of transferring between networks. My old network (t-mobile) have cancelled my account and I have received my new sim card from my new network (3). The trouble is my phone will not accept my new sim, as i require a subsidy pin to unlock my t-mobile blackberry. I have contacted them, but as the account is now cancelled they can no longer give me the required pin.Instead, they asked me to contact blackberry directly to get the phone unlocked.
