I recently upgraded to a new BlackBerry Curve 9320 smartphone in about September 2012. Recently it is acting all faulty. It keeps locking and unlocking itself. The trackpad gets stuck and will not scroll but then will scroll in some apps or menus. Is it a software or hardware fault? What can I do to sort it out?
Each time I press the lock button or I hold the A key, the display automatically turns off and the phone is locked. I cannot check the time on the phone or see if I have any new messages without unlocking it, checking, then relocking it again.
This may seem really miniscule but on my old hanset when the phone was locked if you pressed and of the buttons on the keypad the screen would light up, not unlock, and i could check the time or whatever.
Device info Your carrier: T-Mobile Model info and OS version: Curve 8900 and Blackberry OS v4.6.1.231
Apps and free space Did a battery pull fix your issue? Temporarily Apps installed and their version if possible: No apps because I do not have internet on the phone
When writing your question Good description of what is really wrong and how to reproduce if possible. Details of what you did before:
I didn't do anything to it but before the speaker would fuzz in and out of call and then it started doing that permanently. Afterwards my phone just started to lock and unlock several times before it ultimately locked me out even after I tried to press the unlock button. I tried pulling out the battery several times and it alleviates the symptoms for about 3 minutes and it goes right back to locking and unlocking again.
Anyhow, out of the box, whenever he opened something that could have a landscape orientation - web browser, menus, etc - the screen would automatically turn to that orientation and he would have to turn his phone to use it, ie, no matter how he held it, it would *always* change to landscape.Going into the display settings and turning off "Auto-rotate" screen keeps the screen in portait mode, but then lansdcape doesn't work at all.We did a power off and battery removal and now the phone always stays in portrait mode irresepective of what the display setting is set to.
The odd thing is, the NFS game that comes on it plays perfectly?!Just wondering if anyone has had this issue and managed to fix it without having to return the phone? (it came from Amazon, so it's not as simple as walking into a store and swapping it)
i want to unlock Sony Ericson xperia pro (mk16i) to install custom roms But i m worried about warranty issue...Is relocking boot loader of my device Mk16i recovers warranty?
Every time i end a call, i can see the phone is allways doing something else, like browsing the web, or opening the gps aplication. Last but not list, for several times and unexpectedly i hold the call, or i end it by mistake.
I'm sure this happens because i keep telling it to do it (with my face touching the screen, during the calls!!!)
The phone have those 3 physical buttons on the bottom, (the red one, the green one and the menu one) and lets face it, those are the same 3 buttons existing in all nokia non-touchscreen phones).
So, two questions:
a) With those 3 buttons, why do i need the touch screen during a call??
b) Is there any option or aplication or trick to automatically lock the screen on the moment i start a call (incoming or outgoing) and unlock it when i end the call?
My LG G3 (LS990 model, if that matters) decided it was going to just turn off its screen for a half hour or so. I thought the battery had died or become disconnected, so I pulled the battery, put it back in, and plugged it in to charge. I came back to my phone's screen going haywire. It's locking and unlocking itself repeatedly inside the time of a single second. The sensor that I've noticed sometimes gets blocked and turns the screen off is clear, the battery is fully charged, and the screen is unresponsive. Is there anything I can do, or am I out the cost of the phone?
confirm if my phone would 'brick' or not if I used official Sony software to repair...I used the online service Da Vinci to unlock my bootloader...so if I use SEUS or PC Companion now...will it brick? How do I relock bootloader safely if I need to repair via SEUS? Would it be better for me to relock the bootloader then unlock properly via Sony? I did pay for the Da Vinci service, so I'm not in a rush to make a mistake! I'm planning ahead for the ICS update and just in case I want to reverse to 2.3.
i recently upgraded my x10i to android 2.1, everytime i press the power button to lock the screen it disconnect me from my network, no service message appears, so everytime i press the power button again to unlock the screen i have to enter my pincode and reconnect again, hence, i dont recieve any messages and calls whenever i lock the screen or when screen times out?
I just started noticing that when I hit the power button on my N6 and it shuts off I hear a popping sound. I also hear it not when I swipe up and put in the pattern lock I have, but when the phone unlocks after that when the homescreen comes up. Is this Normal? I swear I didn't hear it before.
i have a nokia 5130-c2 xm for about a year and a half but i only used it for about 11 months but the other months it went for repairs 3 times. 1st time it displayed a massage "contact service"(needed a firmware upgrade from version 6.6). 2nd & 3rd time it never wanted to boot like when windows on your pc never loaded. Now the 4th time is near, not even a month has passed since i went to collect my repaired phone. Would you say the device its self is faulty or just the firmware. I never went to sites that could send me viruses or use any other themes(custom) just wanna know if i should request a new phone since i still have 6 months of warranty left.
I purchased the phone from vodafone in New Zealand in Jan and have since moved to Thailand, today I sent an e mail, put it back in my bag and pulled it out a few minutes later only to find that half the screen is white and the other half has pixelated lines running through! I have tried hard and soft reset but to no avail! Will I be able to get the phone repaired in Thailand under some sort of international warranty or what is my best way to go about getting it sorted?
wandered if someone could diagnose what's up with my BB, curve 8520 and maybe also gimmie a solution to my problems! ... Here's pretty much all of it ... I think, I know a lot of you can relate because this seems to be a very popular problem...Bout a week ago my bb randomly started messin me about, first the 'L' key along with the 'alt' key and then also the 'A' key, they were stuttering, typing on there own, sometimes wouldn't work at all, they would even pop up when I typed a different key! also there would be times were my phone would freeze and I'd have to hold down a button for roughly 10 seconds to get a response, also all buttons including mute, side buttons, keypad etc.. would stop working all together, only track bar would work but I could only scroll, I also cannot use my phone whilst chargers in, on rare occasions my phone fixes itself, then brakes around 5-10 mins later
I have a 42" Hissense tv & everytime try to view the contents on my phone by connecting via usb, the tv does not pick it up & says no device. What do I do to connect?
I'm trying to use standard 3.5mm jack headphones on my curve. However for a start they don't seem to fit very well (they don't go all the way down). Secondly when in all they way all I get is a kind of a low clicking noise. If I pull the connector out slightly I can just about get it to play but the sound quality is poor. Does this ring any bells? Same thing happens with multiple headphones and whether I'm playing an MP3 or using the radio. The OS is 7.10 bundle 1319.
I have a 6 week old Curve 9320, I have recently started having problems scrolling through chats on BBM. Everything else is fine but I can't scroll up or down to earlier messages in a chat. Also I sent a message to all of my contacts but it doesn't say I'm in a chat with every contact.
I am having problems charging my blackberry curve 9320. It is not my battery because I have tried with some of my friends batteries and it is still not working. My phone is currently completely dead, and has been for 1 day now and I have tried multiple chargers. The red light comes on for max 10 seconds and then it turns off, as if the phone is not charging anymore.
I got a replacement 9320 today after claiming on my insurance, but the GPS doesn't want to work.
Location services are on and GPS is set to Device, I refresh the GPS and it fails to locate. Doesn't matter whether I'm inside or out, it times-out and fails.
I've tried the GPS diagnostics and it just says the same thing; that it couldn't find my location. My network supports GPS as I used it on my old 9300, so I'm a little stumped.
Also, BlackBerry maps refuses to search, just saying 'Unknown Error'. Possibly connected?
I bought a curve 9320 with which i got a 6 months free Black berry services ( BBS).For the activation of BBS i have sent a msg BBSFREE at 121 but my services is not activated. After calling in customer care they told me that they have activated my services on their hand and told me that you will have to register your phone to avail services.I donno how to register phone to activate my BBS.
Does anyone else have the problem of no Blackberry services? I upgraded in September - it worked fine till the new month of October and then no sevices (I thought it was something to do with my service provider, but they confirmed it to be a blackberry problem). So I waited till the new month and still no services.
ive had my blackberry for 2 days now and the bbm does not work, i can open it change display picture, personal message and display name but carnt send or recieve requests, invites never come through and if i send one it just says pending?
Brought brand new bb curve 9320 pay as you go from tesco.BBM worked completely fine. But once I put my O2 sim and topped up BBM stopped working.I mean do I contact o2 or the bbm service provider?
I'm having issues pairing my device (9320) with my new Blackberry Playbook. The software on my phone is 7.1 Bundle 2039. I can pair both devices together through Blackberry Bridge but it shows that I've recieved new emails but doesnt let me open them.
I paired the Playbook with a friends phone (9360) which operates on a different system 7.1 Bundle 1133. And this works fine and we can access the emails and the device and playbook work fine.
I just got dis BB curve and I noticed it didn't ring for long.so I took another fone and called my number.I could hear it ringing on d other fone but my BB wasn't ringing, not even an incoming call alert till about the third ring.I tried with several phones and the same thing happened.it annoys me coz by the tym my BB rings and I have 2 pick up,the caller is hanging up coz it rang for long.
I have a Blackberry Curve 9320 I put myself onto a Blackberry Plan with my network provider some 7 days ago and still my BBM service is not active? Is there anything I can do to activate it? All I'm told from my network provider is it can take up to 24 hours, well it's been 7 days now?
I recently got a blackberry 9320 about a month ago and my battery tends to heat up after a couple of minutes of using it, I don't know what the problem could be...My brother had the same problem with his BB 8520 but only after a year, it later stopped working. 2 weeks after getting my phone I used his 8520 charger because it was much longer then iy charger, then my battery started heating up I don't know if it is charger but I stopped using it and it still heats up.
I have had this fone since june and have constantly had probs with the battery life. Its now saying battery is too low for radio use even when there is half a white bar. Keeps cutting out during calls. I've constantly got to do a battery pull!
i had purchased blackberry curve few months back on its launch. but i was extemely disappointed to find that the phone was getting heated up . i have given the phone to the service centre and i am yet to receive it , 10 days have gone by .
