BB Torch :: Password Works Only For Unlocking Device?
Jul 11, 2011The password that I use for unlocking the device works, because I just entered it and unlocked the device. However, when I connect it to the computer via a USB cable the same password doesn't work. The password is all letters. I do not remember ever entering a password to synch my device before so I can't remember if that is supposed to be the same password. I did try once with caplocks on just to make sure that the password wasn't all caps, but that did not work either. I'm baffled. If any others have that have had this problem could post what they learned,

With my old 9000 I was able to make a password, lock my phone, and then upon unlocking it it would ask for my password.With my new one I just need to press the unlock button... what's the point of the password then? May 12, 2010I bought a Bold 9700 about a month ago and everything was fine un til I had to call T-Mobile to get an exchange about a week ago. I got my new Blackberry 9700 but the only problem is, when I set my password and enable it, the phone doesn't prompt me to enter the password whenever I unlock the phone. It only asks if I go to settings>password lock or when I reboot the phone. I'm new here, and I apologize if this has been posted before.

Feb 15, 2010The phone charges, boots up, Pin is recognized by DM.However, when i turn the phone on, the screen lights up and it prompts me to enter the device password. I am able to scroll up and down through the three options (Unlock, Emergency, Cancel) but i am unable to click down on any of them. Once the screen dies down back to sleep mode it doesn't light up anymore no matter what i press.I've reinstalled the default software 4.6 but that didn't help.
What's wrong and how can i solve it?

Sep 12, 2012My daughter has bought today a new Torch 9810. She has entered a new device password. After a few hours she tried to enter her password, but she forgot her password.
After a read of some internet groups, the solution is simple, just type 10 times your password and the BB will restart. I know that all data will be removed, but that is no issue.
Unfortunately the BB will not restart after I retype for then times the wrong password After the reset it starting with a White screen, with a sort of document icon. Within this document icon, appear a lock and cross sign, beneath this icon there is a counter with is repeatedly showing from 0 till 100% and then start over again.
I've tried to disconnect the battery for at least 1 minute, Put in a different sim card, let it run for almost one hour, but nothing seems to work.

Apr 11, 2011Each time I press the lock button or I hold the A key, the display automatically turns off and the phone is locked. I cannot check the time on the phone or see if I have any new messages without unlocking it, checking, then relocking it again.
This may seem really miniscule but on my old hanset when the phone was locked if you pressed and of the buttons on the keypad the screen would light up, not unlock, and i could check the time or whatever.

I didn't do anything to it but before the speaker would fuzz in and out of call and then it started doing that permanently. Afterwards my phone just started to lock and unlock several times before it ultimately locked me out even after I tried to press the unlock button. I tried pulling out the battery several times and it alleviates the symptoms for about 3 minutes and it goes right back to locking and unlocking again.

Mar 13, 2011I havn't used my bb since i left t-mobile about a year ago. i would like to unlock it to use a different carrier. I forgot my password to unlock it and. well i got scrubbed. What do i do from here. The network MEP code i had to buy to unlock the phone wont work and i only have 5 attempts left on that. I've e-mailed that website about the situation, just thought someone here might know whats happened to my bb and why i get an error code.
