Can anyone tell me what is causing my BB to constantly bring up the hourglass while I'm navigating the display. It really slows my ability to use the BB and it also repeatedly freezes the entire phone. I have to remove the battery to regain access.

Two days ago, every time I tried to use it, it gives me this loading hourglass icon and it takes forever to get to the task. It acts like dial up internet. Even making a simple call takes forever. What can I do. It also sucks up charge. If I completely charge it up at night, it may hold charge until about 5:00 pm that same day.

no software updates available, new radio shack battery, trackball brought back to life 7 or 8 times & still working.
My BlackBerry Curve 8330 is only a month old. For some reason, no matter what application I am in, or what I am trying to do, my phone will lockup all the time. I get the hourglass and cannot do anything for ten minutes or more, sometimes it never goes away; When I want to use my phone I have to do a battery pull, and I'm talking 10+ battery pulls a day, literally.I don't have very many apps installed, all my media is on the memory card, and I always close every app as soon as I am done with it. What could be the culprit?
View 11 Replies View RelatedI have a BB curve 8320, version 4.5.0.81.I have visited Tmobile, they replaced the SIMM card.I have a 4gb memory card, yet my phone is constantly in the "spinning hour glass mode" and unable to use.I thougth perhaps it was something to do with service in the Austin TX area, but it happened the entire week I was in Colorado and California.This makes the phone useless--what to do?The only solution I have found is to remove and reinsert the battery but this is a pain and soemtimes it does not work.My phone is spinnign right now. And yes, I do a quickpull on it nightly as suggested by T mobile.

It goes off and when I press the power button, the red light comes one, the backlit screen with the hourglass comes on and then it goes off again. A little while later, it starts the cycle over again, backlit blank screen, hourglass spins, bb shuts off.

I updated my phone's OS to 5.0 version and it worked fine for an hour, then I installed the blackberry messenger on my phone and restarted the phone. From then my phone keeps booting repeatedly with out even starting. I tried doing a hard reset by removing the battery, but no go. Even now when I try connecting my phone to desktop software, desktop software shows initializing and then again says device unable to connect when the phone restarts automatically.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy recently bought Xoom is randomly performing interruptions of the long press. While interruptions are going on, it doesn't prevent me from pressing, but it stops any long press just as if I had moved out the finger, with wicked effects:
- Any slow scroll gets interrupted;
- Selection with long press gets cut into a regular tap;
- Use of secondary characters on keyboard (via long press) becomes impossible;
- Swype turns into a regular keyboard, since the drag line gets constantly cut.
It's like the press had a variable timeout that comes really low, to a second or milliseconds. That happens frequently (but not always) right after boot/unlock. After that random period (from seconds to about a minute), everything works fine. It's not a lag or delay, it is an interruption, like a timeout.
i just bought a blackberry bold 9790 operating on OS 7. however, i found that rim released the OS 7.1 with so many new features; i have been trying to upgrade my OS but the software keeps saying "there are no updates for your blackberry" although blackberry's website says that any OS 7 device can upgrade to 7.1.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've had my 8900 for two years. I really love the phone, but around the beginning of December 2010, it started doing something funky. It seems that when I am either talking on the phone for a long period of time (around 15 minutes or so) or in the middle of a movie or while taking a video, the phone will go to a plain white screen, and it is impossible to turn it off or have any other interaction. In short, it freezes on that white screen. At other times, it will power itself off, and it also appears frozen, with no possible interaction. In either case, when I remove the battery for a few minutes and replace it, sometimes it comes back on, and other times I have to plug it into a charger, whether it's a USB cable or AC charger. In any case, I may have started with a full battery, but after this, the battery now only shows three and a half of five battery blocks. This is not limited to the OS, since it happened with the original OS back in December (4.6) and continues to occur now that I have upgraded to OS 5. It seems to be hardware related.

Even though on the Boost website my phone number and SIM number are correct, and even though if you dial the correct number my BoostBerry still gets the call, it still shows me the wrong number... and I can't for the life of me figure out how to change it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy wife has a bb 9300 3g on os6 and everything has been fine.However somehow she has screwed up the wi-fi settings.The phone will not connect to our home router and displays the rror message " failed to obtain an IP address".I hve tried everything on the phone from
- Removing the wi-fi setting and reentering them.
- Entering the details manually
- Removing the battery and rebooting the phone
- Reinstally the os over the computer
Nothing seems to work. I know the router is fine as I have the same phone and it connects ok along with several other devices.Has anyone any suggestions before I reset the phone to factory setting?
I've got a three year old Pearl 8100. I've downloaded just one app-google maps. All of my photos are on my micro sd card. There are a lot of emails and text messages on the phone but the hourglass is constanting runningm making most input slow to respond. It runs through a full battery charge in 5-6 hours. I've never updated the operating system and dont see where I can do that. I wiped the phone clean two weeks ago, but everything still seemed to be on it or returned like texts and emails. It worked fine for a few days before the hourglass returned.
View 3 Replies View RelatedJust upgraded from the Storm 1 to the Storm 2 and while everything seems to be ok, the "hourglass symbol" (not really an hourglass but more like 3 sticks at angles" keeps coming up in the middle of the screen.they sort of flash for a few seconds and then it goes away only to come back again a few secs later. Anyone know what is causing this? I didn't have this issue on my Storm 1.
