I have a blackberry curve that's frozen up and now all it does is show the loading hourglass.... I've taken out the battery and I've tried letting it finish loading after taking the battery out. Well after letting it sit for 2 hours with this loading screen up it still hasn't done anything. What should I do?

Two days ago, every time I tried to use it, it gives me this loading hourglass icon and it takes forever to get to the task. It acts like dial up internet. Even making a simple call takes forever. What can I do. It also sucks up charge. If I completely charge it up at night, it may hold charge until about 5:00 pm that same day.
View 4 Replies View RelatedLast night my phone froze. I took the battery out and reset it. I put the batter back in. It turns back on and does the security verifying and then shows the main screen. The issue is that i try to scroll through the applications and it does not respond. I cannot dial numbers or anything. It just stay on the main screen. When I pulled the batter I notice that there is a red line on the white part near the pickups on the battery.
View 5 Replies View RelatedSo yesterday my s5 froze while I was using it. I was simultaneously using whatsapp and viber. The screen went unresponsive, (but no black screen). I waited for 2-3 minutes but it stayed frozen at that point. I use nova launcher.
Long pressed power key, no response. Finally had to do a battery pull to reboot.
Is there any hard key combination I can use to recover the phone ?
I have a new(well, was display model) 8310 & just got a 2gig data card for my new phone & loaded some songs & pictures onto it(nowhere near half filling the card). When I went to unplug it, it was frozen on the home screen!Tried a battery pull, to no avail. It booted up & was frozen again.
Came back to it bout 40 mins later & it had "Do you want to turn on Mass Storage Mode? You might not be able to access some media files in this mode." The trackball worked & I chose "No".Phone appeared to work, chose a ringtone I'd just loaded, no worries. Then went into my pictures... It only showed a few of my photos in thumbnails and froze again! When after another age, it decided to work again, all my pictures (about 30 but reduced to under 200kb before loading) were visible in thumbnails, but most of them were not in proper colour - only in red & green!
Next thing I tried was plugging it back into the computer, deleting & reloading the pics. I also chose 'convert for optimum playback' this time and when loaded & the phone asked about 'Mass Storage Mode' I chose 'yes'.So now it keeps freezing still, for shorter times without apparent reason, as if I've overloaded it(??) and most pics have appeared correctly, but some are still in green/red only.
How can I get the same effect as a battery pull with out actually doing it or loading an app? I have tried the QuickPull app and it IS NOT WORKING. I can get it to download but it wont run. I know there has to be some quick way to do it. I have an otterbox defender case on it and its a pain to take it off.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a BB curve 8320, version 4.5.0.81.I have visited Tmobile, they replaced the SIMM card.I have a 4gb memory card, yet my phone is constantly in the "spinning hour glass mode" and unable to use.I thougth perhaps it was something to do with service in the Austin TX area, but it happened the entire week I was in Colorado and California.This makes the phone useless--what to do?The only solution I have found is to remove and reinsert the battery but this is a pain and soemtimes it does not work.My phone is spinnign right now. And yes, I do a quickpull on it nightly as suggested by T mobile.
View 10 Replies View RelatedMy wife bought a new factory-sealed curve (on ebay) because her old one broke. works perfectly in all regards. except - when connected to PC, won't prompt to go into Mass Storage Mode. We went into Options -> Media Options, and everything is set up properly. We even tried changing options here and changing them back. We called VZW blackberry support - they were stumped. we tried KB19717-The BlackBerry smartphone is not detected as a USB Mass Storage Device when connected to a computerand the Microsoft hotfix it references - no luck. (of course, they're all for 8520)the VZW support guy had her "hard reset" her unit (whatever that means).We reformatted the card. no luck.
We tried a battery pull (several - would have to in order to swap memory cards). didn't matterWe uninstalled and reinstalled Desktop Manager 4.7 -059Putting the card into her old (screen-damaged-but-functional-unit) everything works fine. We tried a different card in her unit. No luck.We tried her unit on a different PC (different USB cable too) no luck.The device shows up in Device Manager, and Desktop Manager (and evil Roxio Media manager) all work fine. Can explore the card fine from the device, and the status in options -> media card says it's thereBut it will NOT show up as a mass storage device
Because of what does work, it doesn't feel like a HW issue - maybe a driver issue?
I have to pull the battery or reboot my phone several times a day because my sound just shuts off for no reason. Does anyone else have this problem? Is there new software I need or something?

View 7 Replies View RelatedMy battrery has been running low quickly . For instance, I charged it yesterday and when it was done charging I made a phone call. I was on the phone for about 11/2 minutes. After I got off I looked at my battery and it was down 1/2 a brick. I've tried removing the battery for awhile, but it doesn't seem to help. I talk on it a lot through the day so I can understand it needing charged at night, but 1 minute off the charger and it's already losing power? I don't use the internet that much, but I do play games. The phone is about a month old. Any advice?

I have tried diffrent computer screens and diffrent positions, sometimes the phone just hangs and i have to do a battery pull. I have downloaded OTA the new bbm because my desktop manager woont update it. It is not a big issue but i was wondering why it isnt working.I dont know if its ok to post a diffrent problem but i thought it would be easier to get an answer then to make another post. The 2nd problem i have is with voice dialling, it doesnt load if it has a big number of contacts, i fixed it by deleting most of my contacts. It works fine now, but i waz wondering if there is a way to fix this so i can have more contacts.

Its annoying and i believe that in the long run this might be damaging my phone. This happens/has to happen often, and also, even within the same day few times! e.g. - if I am texting people, suddenly it may freeze and requires battery pulling out! I do have a few applications, and about 4mb free on the phone on average (currently 7mb). I am on latest firmware.

I can't seem to find this exact problem, so bear with me if I missed it. My problem is that when I did a bettery pull a couple of days ago, my 9700 went into constant reboot. I was able to correct this by connecting to DM and reloading the OS (.714). This was the same OS I was previously using. Now, when I do a BP, the progress bar goes all the way to the end and it just freezes. I have to pull the battery again, and reload the same 714 OS from DM. No help from TMO online help, so I thought I would ask here.

So, I took the battery out and put it back in to reboot it and it won't come on. A white blank background will show up with the small clock in the middle. Then the screen will go black with the small clock in the middle and the red light blinking.

When the phone came back on, it connected just fine, but all of my saved media (pictures, music, videos) was gone. The media was all saved on the device and we use a BES at my office. Any chance of recovering the lost media? Phone seems to be working just fine--just don't have any pictures or videos left.

View 8 Replies View RelatedSunday night I went to bed with a battery that was at least 80% charged. I had my alarm set to wake me up the next morning. I have no idea if that has anything to do with the battery possibly getting drained. As far as I know, I didn't have any apps running either. Anyway, Monday morning I woke up to a completely dead Storm. I tried plugging it in, but all I got was a red light for about 10 secs, the screen went black & then a white screen with a battery in the middle appeared with a red slash through the battery. I've tried everything from a battery pull to even taking a risk & dropping it on the floor & still nothing. I even went & bought a new battery but that's not the issue either. No matter what I do, I still get the same result. It's not the chargers cause I've tried both my wall charger & USB charger.

The GPS is obviously working because I have geotagging for some of my apps set to use GPS rather the cell tower.
My particulars....8900, with .610, Google Map v4.02 and yes I have done battery pulls. Im in Barbados on Digicel network, I called and asked if they blocked GPS, "Whats GPS"
I have two different hotmail account synced with my Blackberry. One of my hotmail accounts is receiving emails just fine to my blackberry. The other is not receiving any! I have tried sending serivice books and a battery pull. What else am I missing? Yesterday they both worked fine and now today only one works.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have two email accounts on my storm, both Gmail. On account A, I can click on the symbol on the homescreen and open up the inbox and check my messages. Everything works normally.
On account B, I try to click on the inbox in the homescreen and my BB freezes. After I touch/click on the inbox and try to open it, the whole screen freezes and it won't respond to my touch, even if I hit the escape or BB buttons. If I hit the End (red) button, everything starts back normally. Also, if I hit the send (green) button, the phone app pops up and everything works again.Anybody have any ideas? I tried a battery pull and that didn't seem to work, neither did resetting the host routing table or service log.

I've got a curve 8520 and earlier today it was playing up and so I decided to re-boot it by taking the battery out. It seemed normal and I'd left it for a while but when I came back to it, the re-boot hadn't gone past about 2/3 of the way. I've tried several different things, plugging it into the computer, and the wall, and also taken the battery out several more times and each time it still doesn't go past 2/3.
