Dec 28, 2014Sometimes my phone does this thing where sometimes it says its charging, but it isn't. That occurred around 45 minuets ago. I pulled the battery, like I always do to fix this problem, while my phone was at 2%. When I went to turn on the phone, the phone was un-responsive and would not turn on. So I tried restoring my contacts from a backup that I took on the 27th of August but here is the message I get when I try to do the Restoration was an error restoring.There could have been a problem with the device or connection during the restore. Verify that the dvice is turned on and connected.I tried restarting my computer and doing a battery pull but no luck and it is the same cable and port I always use...

May 23, 2010My phone keeps regularly crashing/freezing- and keeps requiring me to pull out the battery and put it back in and restart! Its annoying and i believe that in the long run this might be damaging my phone. This happens/has to happen often, and also, even within the same day few times! e.g. - if I am texting people, suddenly it may freeze and requires battery pulling out! I do have a few applications, and about 4mb free on the phone on average (currently 7mb). I am on latest firmware.

May 5, 2010The small clock kept showing up in the middle of the screen on my blackberry. A vzw rep told me sometimes I need to reboot my blackberry because its like a computer. So, I took the battery out and put it back in to reboot it and it won't come on. A white blank background will show up with the small clock in the middle. Then the screen will go black with the small clock in the middle and the red light blinking.

Sep 2, 2010Sunday night I went to bed with a battery that was at least 80% charged. I had my alarm set to wake me up the next morning. I have no idea if that has anything to do with the battery possibly getting drained. As far as I know, I didn't have any apps running either. Anyway, Monday morning I woke up to a completely dead Storm. I tried plugging it in, but all I got was a red light for about 10 secs, the screen went black & then a white screen with a battery in the middle appeared with a red slash through the battery. I've tried everything from a battery pull to even taking a risk & dropping it on the floor & still nothing. I even went & bought a new battery but that's not the issue either. No matter what I do, I still get the same result. It's not the chargers cause I've tried both my wall charger & USB charger.

Mar 19, 2010I've come to dread restarting my phone (after deleting an app, to free up space). Every time I pull the battery, it's like playing russian roulette with my phone. When it restarts, it goes back to that original wallpaper that my bb bold2 had, and then the trackpad won't work. Even if I click down once to activate the trackpad, nothing moves on my screen. It almost always ends with me having to do a second battery pull, which is really nerve-wracking. It's like there's some sort of SEVERE lag going on. And if it does begin to work after a battery pull, it takes like 6 minutes to begin working.

Jul 2, 2010My battrery has been running low quickly . For instance, I charged it yesterday and when it was done charging I made a phone call. I was on the phone for about 11/2 minutes. After I got off I looked at my battery and it was down 1/2 a brick. I've tried removing the battery for awhile, but it doesn't seem to help. I talk on it a lot through the day so I can understand it needing charged at night, but 1 minute off the charger and it's already losing power? I don't use the internet that much, but I do play games. The phone is about a month old. Any advice?

Aug 3, 2015Around a week ago I used a friends 'selfie stick'. The same day I was walking around Windsor and noted that the phone had powered down. I tried pressing the power key, but the phone did not turn on. I took the battery out, replaced it and then the phone came back on.
The problem now seems to reoccur when I have put my phone in my back pocket and either walk some distance, or keep it in my back pocket in the car (for some reason).
BB Curve :: Lost Media After Battery Pull?
Apr 28, 2011So, on Sunday my phone wouldn't connect to the network so I tried a battery pull. When the phone came back on, it connected just fine, but all of my saved media (pictures, music, videos) was gone. The media was all saved on the device and we use a BES at my office. Any chance of recovering the lost media? Phone seems to be working just fine--just don't have any pictures or videos left.

May 2, 2010Been trying to connect my device GPS and Google maps for months now but to no avail. I get either GPS is Temporarily unavailable or it says Waiting on GPS.... I've been outside, in the middle of a soccer field still nothing.
The GPS is obviously working because I have geotagging for some of my apps set to use GPS rather the cell tower.
My particulars....8900, with .610, Google Map v4.02 and yes I have done battery pulls. Im in Barbados on Digicel network, I called and asked if they blocked GPS, "Whats GPS"

I have tried sending serivice books and a battery pull. What else am I missing? Yesterday they both worked fine and now today only one works.

Jul 20, 2010I have a new(well, was display model) 8310 & just got a 2gig data card for my new phone & loaded some songs & pictures onto it(nowhere near half filling the card). When I went to unplug it, it was frozen on the home screen!Tried a battery pull, to no avail. It booted up & was frozen again.
Came back to it bout 40 mins later & it had "Do you want to turn on Mass Storage Mode? You might not be able to access some media files in this mode." The trackball worked & I chose "No".Phone appeared to work, chose a ringtone I'd just loaded, no worries. Then went into my pictures... It only showed a few of my photos in thumbnails and froze again! When after another age, it decided to work again, all my pictures (about 30 but reduced to under 200kb before loading) were visible in thumbnails, but most of them were not in proper colour - only in red & green!
Next thing I tried was plugging it back into the computer, deleting & reloading the pics. I also chose 'convert for optimum playback' this time and when loaded & the phone asked about 'Mass Storage Mode' I chose 'yes'.So now it keeps freezing still, for shorter times without apparent reason, as if I've overloaded it(??) and most pics have appeared correctly, but some are still in green/red only.
BB Curve :: 8520 Can't Get Past Reboot Stage After Battery Pull
Oct 25, 2011I've got a curve 8520 and earlier today it was playing up and so I decided to re-boot it by taking the battery out. It seemed normal and I'd left it for a while but when I came back to it, the re-boot hadn't gone past about 2/3 of the way. I've tried several different things, plugging it into the computer, and the wall, and also taken the battery out several more times and each time it still doesn't go past 2/3.

Jan 5, 2012My phone is suffering from the infamous white screen of death about once a day now. The only response I can then get from it is if I do a battery pull. When I return the battery the phone starts to reboot but never finishes and just turns off and is unresponsive to any buttons. The only way I have found to remedy this is by charging the phone. It then turns on as normal. I will make a point of noting that my phone is never out of battery when this happens. When I go to charge it, it starts off at whatever percentage of full it was previously on.

Sep 1, 2010My wife bought a new factory-sealed curve (on ebay) because her old one broke. works perfectly in all regards. except - when connected to PC, won't prompt to go into Mass Storage Mode. We went into Options -> Media Options, and everything is set up properly. We even tried changing options here and changing them back. We called VZW blackberry support - they were stumped. we tried KB19717-The BlackBerry smartphone is not detected as a USB Mass Storage Device when connected to a computerand the Microsoft hotfix it references - no luck. (of course, they're all for 8520)the VZW support guy had her "hard reset" her unit (whatever that means).We reformatted the card. no luck.
We tried a battery pull (several - would have to in order to swap memory cards). didn't matterWe uninstalled and reinstalled Desktop Manager 4.7 -059Putting the card into her old (screen-damaged-but-functional-unit) everything works fine. We tried a different card in her unit. No luck.We tried her unit on a different PC (different USB cable too) no luck.The device shows up in Device Manager, and Desktop Manager (and evil Roxio Media manager) all work fine. Can explore the card fine from the device, and the status in options -> media card says it's thereBut it will NOT show up as a mass storage device
Because of what does work, it doesn't feel like a HW issue - maybe a driver issue?

Jan 18, 2010How can I get the same effect as a battery pull with out actually doing it or loading an app? I have tried the QuickPull app and it IS NOT WORKING. I can get it to download but it wont run. I know there has to be some quick way to do it. I have an otterbox defender case on it and its a pain to take it off.

Aug 9, 2011Phone needed a battery pull last night as it froze in the middle of sending a picture message. This happens a LOT I'm afraid. Typically, it boots right up, loads the software, my screen comes up, my icons come back and I'm in business. I am stuck in a boot loop it seems. The BB logo comes up, the bar loads about 2/3 of the way, then the red light comes on and it shuts off. Phone starts back up and does the same thing over and over and over. It also won't turn off (unless I just pull the batter out, but when replaced, the same thing keeps happening). I can't load the OS again through the BB Desktop Manager because the process is halted each time the phone turns itself off again.

Jan 24, 2010I recently upgraded to v5.0.0.411 and have had almost no problems so far. One problem I have had though is whenever I do a battery pull my battery instantly says it's drained upon starting back up. Today it went from 50% to 15% after one pull. I know it is a false reading because recently it went from around 50% to 3%(the yellow low battery light was flashing when I turned it back on as well), however, I was able to use the phone for hours after this and it remained at 3%. From what I've read I'm thinking this might be a problem with the battery or battery contacts? But it's strange that it started happening as soon as I upgraded my OS to 5.0. Any suggestions or info?

Whenever I do a battery pull my battery indication after reinsertion reads 0% and shows the battery as red. My battery indicator before the battery pull will read anywhere from 80% to 50% but after the battery pull the indicator changes to read zero and is shown in red. If I don't charge the phone it will die even though prior to the battery pull the charge was fine at 80% or so...
I'm pulling the battery because of memory shortages. I HAVE replaced the battery and I still get the same problem. Pulling the battery after this happens changes nothing. I've pulled the battery numerous times afterwards and I never get the battery indicator to read what it did before the battery pull. I don't dare pull the battery if I'm not near my charger as the phone will die in a matter of minutes...
