View 9 Replies View RelatedWe have 2 WiFi networks. One is for guests and the other is for our own use. Our iDevices always auto-pick the guest network instead of the one we prefer. The only thing that works is to "forget" the guest network but we'd rather not have to do that. In OSX you can drag-order the WiFi networks in Network Prefs into a preferred order. Is there a way to do the same in iOS?
Info:
iPhone 5, iOS 7.1.2
I am sure I used to set wifi as preferred in my 9780 in order to reduce my phone bills` costs. I don`t remember how I`ve done it?I cant find `advanced options` in my menu but I recall I may have done it via that option.

I connect to my wi-fi successfully, but then it still uses 3G for whatsapp, emails & when I go on the internet
View 4 Replies View RelatedIs there any way to change the preferred order of WiFi networks? My office has two WiFi networks, one for my office and one for the conference room down the hall. When I added the network for the conference room I found that when I'm in the office the phone keeps connecting to it, even though the signal is much weaker than the office network. I ended up just removing it from the list, however, when I'm in the conference room I have to re-add it, which is a pain because there's a long password. On my Windows laptop it's easy to just change the order and it will connect to the one closest to the top of the list, but I can't find anything like that on my Photon. It seems like it would be something pretty simple that would have been built-in.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a BlackBerry Storm 2 9550 3G CDMA WiFi OS v5.0.0.1015 Bundle 1656. This phone was with Verizon previously and I have no present carrier. I want to take this phone to Europe to work WiFi and possibly a European Sim Card. I worked with Verizon and the phone is unlocked. I took it to Verizon, and they, as I had done, connected to a WiFi network (ID above clock in white), data and roaming turned off, and received a "success" on setting up. I noticed the "WiFi" symbol is a dull white, as opposed to the network name which is bright white. I go to the browser and it allows me to put in a URL, but when I try to go there, "Internet is not available, check with provider". The browser is set to Hotspot. I have removed the battery to no avail, and have done a security wipe, but the results are the same.Is there a setting I am missing, or something else basic I have overlooked?

View 1 Replies View RelatedJust recently I bought a Blackberry Curve 8900 with tmobile. Now here is the thing, I dont have a data plan of any kind with tmobile. So when I bought the phone I insterted my phone and booted it up. Checked with my seller to make sure it made a phone call.it did. So I knew for sure my SIM card was working just fine.heres where it gets weird.
When I got home, the first thing I did was connect to my wireless network.. using Wi-Fi.. obviously. And from there I went to the Setup Wizard and went through each step. When I got to the Email portion, It gave me two options, I dont remember both but one of them was "set up email through blackberry enterprise server".. or something like that. I was aware that I didnt have a data plan, so I clicked the second option. I went through the process and had EMAIL... through WIFI. I even sent my self email messages to make sure it was working and have proof that i recieved email and sent emaily to myself and others!!! without a data plan!!!
This is what i expected.. i didnt know that this wasnt supposed to happen? and that blackberrys customers were only able to get email if they had a blackberry data plan?Well, naturally i figured everything else would work on a wif connection.. like the iphone. Even though you dont have the 3G data plan one can still access email, web, and aps. So anways, all the apps communicated with the wifi network and my web browser viewed pages on a wireless network.
Then my myfaves dissapeard and gave a java encoding script error or something. So what do i do? i call tmobile and spend hours troubleshooting. Eventually i am able to restore or update my OS with a PC and get my mfaves back. But now my ap world ap wont start and tells me that i need a data plan.. next its my web browser that tells me the same thing, as well as facebook. I am like what is going on?!. AND then when I try to set up email. there is only one option.and thats "setup email through a blackberry enterprise server"..So my question is.if you took the time to read this.why in the world did everything stop working with wi fi and out of nowhere asked me to use a blackberry data service plan?
I have a curve 9220 os 7 and when ever I browse the internet through it I lose credit even when I'm having the wifi turned on! how to make it default to wifi browsing like how we could do in os 5 by changing to hotspot browser. if we can use facebook app on wifi without any data plan !!
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just purchased a bb curve 9320 and I'm very happy with it. I bought it unlocked and I'm using it with T-Mobile_text and talk only(no data plan)I have one concern: I've been reading in some forums people say they have trouble and complain that WiFi options are very limited without a data plan.I have successfully connected my WiFi and I'm using the native browser to surf the web. Does this mean I might get charged extra at the end of the month?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've got a blackberry curve 8520 and the other day, it completely wiped itself. I've managed to connect it back to my wifi but whenever i click on my browser and try to load a page it says 'Unable to connect to the internet, please try again later.' even though it says i am connected to the wireless.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have had the curve for a few weeks now. At first i changed the settings of the browser to "hotspot" so i could use it with wifi. It was working really well, then all of a sudden it stopped durin browsing. The phone says the wifi connection is fine, but whenever i go to the broswer and try to go to a website it just says loading at the bottom and nothing happens.
Can anyone help with this? should i restart the phone setting somehow because i might have done changed some setting during browsing without realising or is this an actual issue with the phone?
When I try to access web sites from the Blackberry browser I get the "Unable to connect to the selected mobile data service. Please try again later" message. This happens whether connected through the T-Mobile network or Wi-fi.When I change the browser settings to the T-Mobile browser I am able to access web site just fine. However I would prefer to use the Blackberry browser because not all pages load correctly with the T-Mobile browser.
I have an active data plan and am connected to an enterprise server. My outlook and webmail e-mails work so I don't think it's a problem with my carrier. I've tried a battery pull, re-sending my service books, etc without luck.I think the problem may have started after connecting to my desktop for the first time in about a year, but I'm not completely certain. T-Mobile support and IT administrator have been no help.
