Nokia Nseries :: Connect Web Browser And Email Through WIFI?
Mar 10, 2012
My web broswer and email is working fine in gprs service..My wifi connection also working fine in opera, facebook and other applications. But my web browser and email is not working in wifi connection.. Do i have to change any settings.
I recently updated my Nokia 500 to 11.33 and since then. I cannot browse the internet. Only in WLAN. I get "Browser unable to connect to website." I can make calls. The WLAN wizard shows Connected.
My N8 does not connect to websites via wifi, in general, 90 % of the times it does not open any web page, either with the default web browser or Opera. However, the phone connects to the wifi network, and Skype for instance always works via wifi, but normally, you cannot go to any webpage or use other programs needing the internet.Surprisingly, sometimes it does connect (10 % of attempts), while nothing was changed in the router or anything. It does happen with any wifi network.
I can't connect to internet with none of the wifi at public places in N97 Mini.Sometimes say me than I can't connect to network, I have firmware version 12.2.121.
I've had the 808 since the initial release in India, i.e since August 13. Got it replaced once for the purple tint issue. Though the replacement set has some issues with touchscreen response, but I've learned to live with it. And everything else was working fine, till about a week ago.But now my 808 cannot connect to Wifi, randomly (quite often, actually). If I enable the wifi and go to the Wifi main page, I can see my home network being detected and shown as "Known". I tap on it to connect, it says "Connecting" for about a second or even less than that and then says "Known" again. I've tried tapping on it many times, but it just doesn't connect. Tried different connections of wifi, i.e. joikuspot from my N8, cannot even connect to that. Disabling and re-enabling the Wifi don't work either.
To make Wifi work again, I have to reboot the phone every time the problem arises. It's really annoying, since I use a lot a Wifi.Sincerely,SabbyjHit the kudos button if I was of any help to you. And don't forget to mark the solution if I get one.
I just updated my N8 from symbian anna to belle. Everything went ok. Now I'm trying to connect to my home wifi network which has WEB security. I can connect without a problem. I mean the phone says it's connected to the network. But when I try to access a website there is only the error page. And after a minute or so the wifi connection drops out by itself. I saved the network, and there's no other destination in the settings/destinations menu. the phone is not connecting to it by itself. Is there a way to go back to Anna?
I have a Nokia 700. Upgraded to 112.010.1404 via Nokia Suite as soon as I got it. I have set my WiFi network as the highest priority. I can connect to my WiFi network, yet after a while of inactivity the phone starts using 3G data again. I go into the WiFi networks and see that my network is listed as "Known" but not "Connected". I have to manually select it to re-connect.Power saving mode for WiFi is set to off.Is there a setting to automatically connect to any known WiFi network when in range? I am happy to manage battery life by manually turning ove WiFi when not needed.
I have a BlackBerry Storm 2 9550 3G CDMA WiFi OS v5.0.0.1015 Bundle 1656. This phone was with Verizon previously and I have no present carrier. I want to take this phone to Europe to work WiFi and possibly a European Sim Card. I worked with Verizon and the phone is unlocked. I took it to Verizon, and they, as I had done, connected to a WiFi network (ID above clock in white), data and roaming turned off, and received a "success" on setting up. I noticed the "WiFi" symbol is a dull white, as opposed to the network name which is bright white. I go to the browser and it allows me to put in a URL, but when I try to go there, "Internet is not available, check with provider". The browser is set to Hotspot. I have removed the battery to no avail, and have done a security wipe, but the results are the same.Is there a setting I am missing, or something else basic I have overlooked?
i've just bought a Blackberry Curve PAYG - i am trying to set it up, it won't connect to the internet with the vodafone browser or with WiFi, it won't let me set up personal e-mail its only giving me the choice of the business activation thingy and it won't send text messages even though i have checked i ahve credit!!
Just recently I bought a Blackberry Curve 8900 with tmobile. Now here is the thing, I dont have a data plan of any kind with tmobile. So when I bought the phone I insterted my phone and booted it up. Checked with my seller to make sure it made a phone call.it did. So I knew for sure my SIM card was working just fine.heres where it gets weird.
When I got home, the first thing I did was connect to my wireless network.. using Wi-Fi.. obviously. And from there I went to the Setup Wizard and went through each step. When I got to the Email portion, It gave me two options, I dont remember both but one of them was "set up email through blackberry enterprise server".. or something like that. I was aware that I didnt have a data plan, so I clicked the second option. I went through the process and had EMAIL... through WIFI. I even sent my self email messages to make sure it was working and have proof that i recieved email and sent emaily to myself and others!!! without a data plan!!!
This is what i expected.. i didnt know that this wasnt supposed to happen? and that blackberrys customers were only able to get email if they had a blackberry data plan?Well, naturally i figured everything else would work on a wif connection.. like the iphone. Even though you dont have the 3G data plan one can still access email, web, and aps. So anways, all the apps communicated with the wifi network and my web browser viewed pages on a wireless network.
Then my myfaves dissapeard and gave a java encoding script error or something. So what do i do? i call tmobile and spend hours troubleshooting. Eventually i am able to restore or update my OS with a PC and get my mfaves back. But now my ap world ap wont start and tells me that i need a data plan.. next its my web browser that tells me the same thing, as well as facebook. I am like what is going on?!. AND then when I try to set up email. there is only one option.and thats "setup email through a blackberry enterprise server"..So my question is.if you took the time to read this.why in the world did everything stop working with wi fi and out of nowhere asked me to use a blackberry data service plan?
I contacted my service provider (AT&T), now have the blackberry data plan, received service books, did the options-adv options, registration sent-recieved message on phione that my blackberry is registered, did the re boot at least 5 times. STILL, no browser, no indication of MMS capabilities, no application for email set up.! Every post that I have read, I have done what is being suggested
I have nokia X7 at first I have no problem connecting to wifi. I can connect and can browse internet but after a week can still connect to wifi but the problem is a can't connect to the internet I can't open even google and it says "Browser unable to connect to website". I recently updated to belle fp2 and got the new nokia browser...i worked just fine for somedays but now when i launch the browser it doesnt load any website and quits automatically......i tried reinstalling the os from nokia suite it didnt help.....red all d cache nd history as fast as possible before the app killed itself
However the major problem is when Im surfing the web on the default or Opera Mobile 10.1 browser (both), it randomly crashes without giving any error, checked the open apps and its not there. This happens like 3-4 times everyday. I had done all the updates from phone and Ovi suite.
Since the Belle Refresh update on N8 I've been having a bug concerning text fields in the browser. When a text field is active and the keyboard is visible, clicking buttons on the screen will make you click other nearby links or buttons instead. For example, if you click Search in my attached image, the "Sign in" link will get clicked instead. That happens on other sites aswell. It also happens if you click on empty space with a link underneath it. As if the touch-screen area moves up a bit when the keyboard appears. Right now I'm using the enter key, but I'm still used to just clicking buttons on the screen.
I went to settings and then to application settings, changed it there and still it uses the normal browser. I instald the normal opera and mini. I use it all the time but my phone cant seem to see the new browser n8 bella?
I recently updated my n8. Now, the nokia browser does not work. It always shows 'error', connot locate any site. When click on settings, general, it is blank. What can i do? Is it possible to change the nokia browser as default browser?
Whenever I use any web site on my N8 the pictures are fuzzy, if I clear all privacy data then reload the page the pictures are then clear. If I then change pages I have to clear data and reload again.I contacted my provider and they exchanged it for me but the new phone has exactly the same problem.
i set the default browser as following way: Settings > Application Settings > Default Applications > Browsing Internetin the settings, it is showing default browser as opera, but again while opening web-pages, it still uses Nokia web-browser.it never uses opera.i have also tried using this after switching off and on my Nokia N8.
Like the title says, my 5230's web browser crashes whenever I try and load a forum thread, I was able to do this a while ago and I've not run out of data or anything, there are no music files, no photos, no apps on the phone. I have reset the settings to factory but nothing has helped.I'm starting to get fed up of this phone, it has good navigation properties but that is just about the only thing it has going for it now.
While browsing blogs, I found that nokia browser doesn't support unicode. I tried with Opera 10 too. Any way to see unicode fonts on Nokia N8. I tried changing the internet settings on my mobile by selecting Unicode (UTF8/UCS2) as default setting and restarted the device. Tried to download some third party tools but the mobile doesn't support those.
I noticed many times that with one web page open if I minimize the browser and use other apps and the home screen and use the browser shorcut to get back the browser appears to have closed/crashed the page I had open and it opens up a fresh browser.
