I recently updated to belle fp2 and got the new nokia browser...i worked just fine for somedays but now when i launch the browser it doesnt load any website and quits automatically......i tried reinstalling the os from nokia suite it didnt help.....red all d cache nd history as fast as possible before the app killed itself

I went to Settings > Application Settings > Default Applications Changed "Browsing Internet" from Web to Opera Mobile.
When I click a link in an SMS or from a Qt App, the Nokia Browser is called? Why is "Default Browser" not working?

I can't wait 5 minutes for a typical page to load, plus it seems to run out of memory very easily.
However the major problem is when Im surfing the web on the default or Opera Mobile 10.1 browser (both), it randomly crashes without giving any error, checked the open apps and its not there.This happens like 3-4 times everyday. I had done all the updates from phone and Ovi suite.
View 10 Replies View RelatedSince the Belle Refresh update on N8 I've been having a bug concerning text fields in the browser. When a text field is active and the keyboard is visible, clicking buttons on the screen will make you click other nearby links or buttons instead. For example, if you click Search in my attached image, the "Sign in" link will get clicked instead. That happens on other sites aswell. It also happens if you click on empty space with a link underneath it. As if the touch-screen area moves up a bit when the keyboard appears. Right now I'm using the enter key, but I'm still used to just clicking buttons on the screen.

If I then change pages I have to clear data and reload again.I contacted my provider and they exchanged it for me but the new phone has exactly the same problem.

i set the default browser as following way: Settings > Application Settings > Default Applications > Browsing Internetin the settings, it is showing default browser as opera,but again while opening web-pages, it still uses Nokia web-browser.it never uses opera.i have also tried using this after switching off and on my Nokia N8.
View 3 Replies View RelatedLike the title says, my 5230's web browser crashes whenever I try and load a forum thread, I was able to do this a while ago and I've not run out of data or anything, there are no music files, no photos, no apps on the phone. I have reset the settings to factory but nothing has helped.I'm starting to get fed up of this phone, it has good navigation properties but that is just about the only thing it has going for it now.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThe browser on my Nokia 701 is great -certainly much better than past versions- but websites 'see' it as a full size browser and so deliver it full size web pages. I have found this leads to much dragging and zooming. If the site also has pop-ups (which can fully obscure the screen!) this can lead to misclicks, impossible to navigate sites etc. Also full size webpages are slow to load and more expensive on data.
This issue has led me to either manually navigating to the mobile versions of the websites I like (bit of a pain) or to simply use the Opera Mini browser instead. The Opera browser is free and websites 'recognise' it as a mobile browser. This means without any work when I surf I instantly get the mobile version of the website I want (assuming one exists), easy to navigate and fast (and so cheaper) to load. In many cases this works much better for me.
So I think Nokia have missed a trick here. Maybe they should offer a feature whereby the user can tell their browser to find either mobile-friendly pages or normal ones. They could even add in a second browser shortcut, one which launches the Nokia browser in a 'mobile' mode.
Now running a 701, beautiful phone to handle and use...now that it has stopped sending my personal information to Nokia via 360Panel [rolls eyes]

I have Nokia 701 with FP2, Whenever I open the default browser or software update, the background apps or open apps like Nokia store, opera mini are closing on their own. When I closed the software update and started to use the opera mini and Nokia store, the Nokia store app is closing on its own. Other problems with fp2 are, camera takes long time to open. Gallery opens but we cannot tap on images, same thing with thumbnail image in the camera sometimes.
