I just got my curve 8520 when i setup my wifi it picks up my wifi and connect but icon stays grey, i have checked the setting i can ping my router the DHCP server assigned me an ip but the icon stays grey

Sometimes the icon on the phone is white, sometimes it is grey.what is the difference?I have even stood right next to the router and it's been grey.Is there something in the phone that I have to change to FORCE it to use the wifi? I can't see any means of testing the speed. If I could, I'd see that GPRS gets about 5kb/s, but on wifi it should get 1.3mb.

Tried to connect to wifi in an airport without success and deletetd the profile. I've never used the wifi before and don't plan on using it again. Now I can't get rid of the inactive grey wifi icon on my homescreen, and occasionally I find my phone connected to AT&T public wifi in random places. I've tried restoring default wifi settings to no avail.
View 1 Replies View RelatedNoticed lately that when I enable my Wifi connection that the 3G icon will stay active at the same time as the Wifi icon (I live in Northern New Jersey, no 4G for me). In this state, the Wifi icon is blue and the 3G icon is white. Usually when you activate wifi and it is done connecting the 3G icon goes away completely. Was thinking maybe one of my installed apps hosed this up. Tried running the phone in safe mode to see if it would change anything, but the condition persisted. Not a big deal, wifi works fine.......it's more of a problem with the owner (me) who can't seem to let things like this go

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've never had a problem with any other devices connecting to my home wifi, but my Blackberry 9700 keeps getting the grey wifi icon on the home screen, and when I'm trying to load a website, it keeps switching to Edge or 3G to complete the loading of a webpage. In manage connections, I sometimes have a green tick next to my home broadband, but very often I have a (-). Is there anything I can do to make the connection better?
So far, I've tried:Deleting the connection and setting up the wifi again;
Pulling the battery.Neither has helped. Could it possibly be a hardware fault? I have the up to date OS etc.
When I tried to download an app on to my phone I keep getting a message 'Unable to download app' and the icon turns grey. 'Unable to download app at this time' with an option of 'done' or 'try again'.

The icon stays on in my notification bar even when I turn it off. After i turn it off I go back to the settings and its somehow turned back on.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have no messages, but the icon stays on. I have contacted motorola agent, they said call sprint. I called sprint and they did a reset and it still remains. I even did a factory reset, but it comes right back.
I can go to manage applications/phone and cleared data, it will then disappear but then reappear within a minute. I googled it and did the send another voicemail and delete it, it still remains and the clear button at the right of the notification bar does not show up for it.
While upgrading to the latest version of my BB messenger I had two unread messages. I didn't read these messages and completed the upgrade. Ever since then I have had the notification icon displaying the number 2 with the bb icon on my front screen. So now when I have two new messages it shows 4 and after reading the two it continues to display the two messages that don't exist.

No other program can use the wifi connection. I have four E71. Tried it on the second E71 phone. Did the same. Permanently, the wifi is on. Tried a deep hard reset and then installed. Same again.

I got a data usage warning message the next day, so I made sure it was still connected to wifi - then I got another warning message advising me more charges were being applied to the data plan. I called ATT and explained and was told that the 4GLTE runs all kinds of stuff in the background that uses data and to turn the data off. I did - since then, no more data usage - however - it will not stay connected to wifi after a time out unless it is plugged in. It still shows that its connected to wifi but its not.

They both have a charge light that stays on when charging and goes off when charging is complete. I've notice that with the Icon the light never goes out when the phone is fully charged. Dosent go away until I reboot the phone, any ideas? When it is fully charged the green led even stays lit. Dosent do it all the time just enough to be annoying. I really dont want to trade my phone for a reconditioned one since it is only three weeks old.
